Qué ver en Nicaragua ???????? | 10 Lugares Imprescindibles

Spotlight on Nicaragua | Day 6 - Things to do in San Juan Del Sur

Let's talk about San Juan Del Sur ????????

San Juan del Sur is a fun, beachside party town on Nicaragua’s southwest coast. It's surrounded by excellent surfing beaches and mountains that carve out an unforgettable coastal view of Nicaragua.

On your next visit, why don't you check out some of these fun spots and activities...

???? Sunday Funday - A fun pub crawl in the area on Sundays ($35 USD)

???? Visit the nearby beaches - we went to Playa Maderas and loved the relaxing day and time in the waves

????️ Hush Hostel - This gorgeous hostel is located above Playa Maderas and has an incredible infinity pool for sunset (and amazing strawberry daiquiris)

????️ Famous Buffet - Visit La Reina del Sur for an amazing plate of food for as little as 100 cordobas

???? Nacho - This Mexican restaurant on the main street has amazing food and drinks. PSA - the fried avocado tacos were my favourite!

???? Kiss Me - I had a salted caramel ice cream in a freshly made waffle cone (like... freshly made!!) and it was incredible!

???? Sunset hike - Head up to the Jesus Statue aka The Christ Of Mercy Statue for the best views In San Juan del Sur

Do you have any San Juan Del Sur recommendations to add?

???? Don't forget to follow @caitlinlaurent and turn on notifications to get all of the recommendations over the next 4 days!

Managua (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈnaɣwa]) is the capital city of Nicaragua as well as of the department of the same name. It is the largest city in Nicaragua in terms of population and geographic size. Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Xolotlán or Lake Managua, the city was declared the national capital in 1852.[2] Prior to its inception as the capital city, the title had alternated between the cities of León and Granada. The 1972 Nicaragua earthquake and the ensuing years of war in the 1980s severely disrupted and stunted Managua's growth. It was not until the mid-1990s that Managua began to see a resurgence in investment and infrastructural development. The city has a metropolitan population of about 2,408,000, which includes the neighboring cities of Ciudad Sandino and Tipitapa. Managua is composed predominantly of mestizos and whites who are mainly of Spanish descent, with a minority being of French, Jewish Nicaraguan, German Nicaraguan, Italian, Russian and Turkish descent. Managua is the second most populous city in Central America, after Guatemala City.

How to travel by Chicken Bus in Nicaragua

Sometimes there are no direct buses to where you want to go. Or the bus might go at 3pm and arrives after dark.

There is no direct bus to Granada. You can get a bus to Managua but the Terminal you arrive at is 10km from the Terminal you need for Granada.
Solution, take a directo at 3 or 4pm to Masaya and change, getting you to Granada after sunset.

NomadicBackpacker travel tip:

From Matagalpa take any Managua bus, going cada hora and get off at Tipitapa and then get a Masaya bus and then get a Granada bus and if you start at 8 or 9am, by 3 you are nicely in your hostel.

Same with my bus travel today. Took a Managua bound bus and got off at San Benito then got a Managua Juigalpa/Nueva Guinea bus.

Easy as!!!!!!

MANAGUA NICARAGUA 2020
