Hello, lovely people. We went on a trip to Harz mountain for the Valentine‘s weekend and it turned out to more romantic than we thought !!
It was spine tickling cold and our hair froze at the top of Brocken but It was an experience that will be always remembered by us ????
Harz has something for everyone whether you want to hike through mountains, ride the steam train or explore cosy and cute towns with castles and stories to take your breath away .
Sharing with you my top recommendations. Harz has different things to offer all around the year and makes for a perfect weekend trip.

Harz National Park is a nature reserve in the German federal states of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
It comprises large portions of the western Harz mountain range, extending from Herzberg and Bad Lauterberg at the southern edge to Bad Harzburg and Ilsenburg on the northern slopes.
95% of the area is covered with forests, mainly with spruce and beech woods, including several bogs, granite rocks and creeks.
There are various vegetation zones in the Harz National Park.
In the sub-alpine area above 1050 metres is the battle zone of the spruce tree.
The altimontane vegetation zone is found between 750 m above sea level (NN) and 1,050 m above NN, dominated by spruce.
Not until the montane zone between 450 m above NN and 750 m above NN and the submontane zone is the vegetation dominated by beech forests.
At heights above 700 m it is usually adjacent to spruce-beech mixed woodland.
But in the national park this area has shrunk to just a few residual stands and has been largely replaced by spruce.
In the region of Ilsenburg spruce monoculture occurs even down to 230 m above NN.
In these zones the spruce is not native and, as a result of climate change, it has suffered increasingly from bark beetle infestation.
Currently the National Park Service is having these areas reforested to encourage the original beech and maple, that used to dominate them, to resettle.
The lynx now lives wild again in the Harz, having been eradicated from the mountains since the early 19th century.
The Harz is now one of Germany's most important habitats for the wild cat.
It is classified in the Federal Republic of Germany as seriously endangered.
It is assumed that the wild cat in the Harz has a stable population.
It is widespread throughout the region, preferring those areas which are warmer, richer, more varied and better supplied with nutrients (lower lying deciduous forest with greater food availability).
In addition to lynx and wild cat, red deer and roe deer are also important species in the Harz National Park.
The most common invasive species is the raccoon, but occasionally the raccoon dog also occurs.
The mouflon, which was in the 1930s located in different districts of the Harz for hunting reasons, is also found in the park.

Hello hallo, welcome back to Q-We channel. In this episode, we're going to show you one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, Quedlinburg. The town is listed in UNESCO World Heritage. Walking around this place really made us feel like travel back in the middle ages. So many half-timbered houses and historical places. we visited the Stiftskirche St. Servatii on the castle hill, we can only showed small part, which allowed, in this video. I think, it isn't difficult to find pictures of it online.
After that we went to Thale, but mostly just the around Bode Gorge, Although there were many people there, it was still really great place to visit.

In der Walpurgishalle | Der Hexentanzplatz in Thale | Harz
Über dem Bodetal bei der Stadt Thale im Harz liegt auf einem Berg der Hexentanzplatz. Das Plateau ist eine uralte germanische Kultstätte. Sehenswert ist die Walpurgishalle. Über dem Blockhaus im altgermanischen Stil wacht der Kopf des Gottes Wodan (auch Odin genannt). Im Innern der Walpurgishalle gibt es fünf Großgemälde zu sehen. Die faszinierenden Bilder zeigen Szenen aus der Walpurgisnacht, die Johann Wolfgang von Goethes in seinem Werk FAUST beschreibt: Irrlichtertanz, Mammonshöhle, Hexentanz, Windsbraut und Gretchentragödie. Neben der Walpurgishalle schützt der 150 Meter lange Sachsenwall, eine 500 vor Christus gebaute Mauer, den Kultplatz.

Wanderung durch das BODETAL || Thale nach Treseburg || Wandern im Harz
Hallo und herzlich willkommen zu diesem Video. Diese Wanderung führte mich im September 2019 durch das wunderschöne Bodetal im Harz. Vom Wanderparkplatz in Treseburg bin ich zunächst mit dem Bus zum Bahnhof nach Thale gefahren. Von dort ging es dann durch das Bodetal zurück zum Parkplatz nach Treseburg. Die Länge der Wanderung beträgt etwa 10 Kilometer. Viel Spaß mit dem Video!

Germany's Fairytale Town Hidden Deep in the Harz Mountains
Often overlooked by tourists, some of Germany's cutest fairytale villages are tucked away in the Harz mountains. So, for our first stop on this Harz Mountains road trip, we visited gorgeous Goslar. With it's crumbling city walls, UNESCO heritage listed cobbled streets and old town, and tiny miners' houses, Goslar couldn't be any cuter and more traditionally German.
We spent a day wandering the historic Old Town of Goslar and the Mines of Rammelsberg. We were also in luck, because we arrived during the popular annual Goslar Arts and Crafts Fair, where over 150 stalls sell there wares all over town, attracting thousands of visitors from near and far. Lovingly-designed small masterpieces and creative craftsmanship are presented around the Marktkirche (Market Church), in the picturesque Schuhhof (Shoe Yard) and on the Markt (Marketplace), in and around the large Holy Cross, on the banks of the river Abzucht and around the Jakobikirche (Church of Saint James).
Goslar really is one of Germany's best fairytale villages.
