Thành Phố Hòa Bình Những Đổi Mới Không Nhận Ra 2019
Thành phố Hòa Bình là tỉnh lỵ tỉnh Hòa Bình, Việt Nam.
Thị xã Hòa Bình được Chính phủ Việt Nam công nhận là thành phố trực thuộc tỉnh vào ngày 27 tháng 10 năm 2006.
Thành phố Hòa Bình có 133.34 km² diện tích tự nhiên và dân số 189.210người (tháng 6 năm 2017).[6]
Địa giới hành chính thành phố Hòa Bình: phía Đông giáp huyện Kỳ Sơn và huyện Kim Bôi; phía Tây giáp huyện Cao Phong và huyện Đà Bắc; phía Nam giáp huyện Cao Phong; phía Bắc giáp huyện Thanh Sơn, tỉnh Phú Thọ .
Thành phố Hòa Bình bao gồm 15 đơn vị hành chính gồm 8 phường: Chăm Mát, Đồng Tiến, Hữu Nghị, Phương Lâm, Tân Hòa, Tân Thịnh, Thái Bình, Thịnh Lang và 7 xã: Dân Chủ, Hòa Bình, Sủ Ngòi, Thái Thịnh, Thống Nhất, Trung Minh, Yên Mông .
Trước năm 1886, trung tâm của tỉnh Mường Hoà Bình được đặt ở Chợ Bờ, sau được chuyển về xã Phương Lâm (thuộc huyện Bất Bạt, phủ Quốc Oai, tỉnh Sơn Tây lúc bấy giờ).[7] Thị xã Hòa Bình được thành lập năm 1896 theo Sắc lệnh của Toàn quyền Đông Dương.
Sau năm 1975, thị xã Hòa Bình thuộc tỉnh Hà Sơn Bình, gồm 6 phường: Chăm Mát, Đồng Tiến, Hữu Nghị, Phương Lâm, Tân Hòa, Tân Thịnh.
Ngày 3-8-1978, chuyển 2 xã Hòa Bình và Thịnh Lang thuộc huyện Kỳ Sơn về thị xã Hòa Bình quản lý.
Ngày 11-11-1983, chuyển xã Thái Bình thuộc huyện Kỳ Sơn về thị xã Hòa Bình quản lý.
Ngày 24-4-1988, chuyển 4 xã: Dân Chủ, Sủ Ngòi, Thống Nhất, Yên Mông thuộc huyện Kỳ Sơn về thị xã Hòa Bình quản lý.
Năm 1990, thành lập xã Thái Thịnh từ một phần các xã Thái Bình, Thịnh Lang.
Ngày 12-8-1991, tái lập tỉnh Hòa Bình từ tỉnh Hà Sơn Bình cũ, thị xã Hòa Bình trở lại là tỉnh lị tỉnh Hòa Bình.
Ngày 22-10-2002, chuyển 2 xã Thái Bình và Thịnh Lang thành 2 phường có tên tương ứng.
Ngày 4-11-2005, thị xã Hòa Bình được công nhận là đô thị loại III.
Ngày 27-10-2006[5], thị xã Hòa Bình được Chính phủ Việt Nam công nhận là thành phố trực thuộc tỉnh Hòa Bình.
Ngày 14-7-2009, chuyển xã Trung Minh thuộc huyện Kỳ Sơn về thành phố Hòa Bình quản lý.
Dự kiến năm 2019, các xã Thống Nhất, Yên Mông sẽ được chuyển thành 2 phường có tên tương ứng để thành phố Hòa Bình trở thành đô thị loại II trực thuộc tỉnh Hòa Bình vào năm 2020.
