This castle town is called a “Little Kyoto in the Harima region,” exhibiting many samurai houses and old storehouses with white earthen walls. Tatsuno’s traditional industry includes soy sauce and somen noodle production and the making of traditional leather items. One of the area’s finest tea gardens, Sountei, is located here above the town on Mt. Matobasan.
