Best Onsen in Japan!
In this video, I introduce 3 of my favorite hot springs (Onsen) in Japan.
All of them are located in very inconvenient places but definitely worth visiting if you want to deep dive into the real onsen culture of Japan!
The onsen pictures in the video are all from the official websites.
Taking photos in the bathing area is strictly prohibited, so please be careful.
As I mentioned in the video, they will be very crowded on weekends.
My advice is to visit them on weekdays or book and stay the accommodation overnight
so that you can enjoy onsen at night and early morning free from tourists.

I am not a big fan of hot springs in well-known tourist destinations or well-equipped hot springs in hotels.
Rather, I prefer wild, natural hot springs that are inconveniently accessible, sparsely populated, and unspoiled.
Such hot springs are located near volcanoes and are characterized by a strong sulfur smell and cloudy white water.
Here are some other recommendations in Nagano area.

Most beautiful onsen in Japan | Tsuru no yu♨
Tsurunoyu is one of the best hot springs in Japan, and you can stay there even if you are traveling alone!
Tsurunoyu Onsen features four baths, each infused with different minerals.
Unfortunately, taking photos or videos in the onsen spot is prohibited, so this video can not show you the wonderful hot springs. However, we can see all the other amazing things Tsurunoyu has to offer.
Please visit Tsurunoyu and enjoy this astonishing hot spring!
The only problem is that its popularity makes reservation difficult.
Please check the following website often or even call them!
The accommodation fee of Nigoukan is 9,830 yen($76.4) per night for single use, with an additional 1,100 yen ($8.5) heating fee in winter.

「日本秘湯を守る会」
Nihon Hitou wo Mamoru Kai (Japan Association of Secluded Hot Spring Inns)' is an organization established in 1975, committed to protecting and utilizing hidden and famous hot springs across Japan. This group affiliates with lodging facilities in hot spring areas that are blessed with nature, possess abundant hot spring water, and respect local culture and traditions. It currently has 148 member lodgings nationwide.
Each lodging that becomes a member has its own hot spring source and provides services and facilities tailored to the unique characteristics of each region. Many are located in somewhat secluded places, surrounded by nature. At these inns, guests can enjoy the local cuisine unique to each area and have opportunities to interact with the local people.
The 'Nihon Hitou wo Mamoru Kai' offers a stamp booklet, where you can collect stamps from each member hot spring inn you visit. Once you accumulate 10 stamps, you are eligible for a free one-night stay at a hot spring inn of your choice from among the inns where you had your stamps stamped.

Japan Off The Beaten Path: Autumn In Akita Prefecture | Japan Travel Guide
Japan Off The Beaten Path is a new series on my channel, where I show you more of the unknown areas/prefectures in Japan and encourage you to travel and visit areas other than the common places such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
In this first episode, we visit and explore around Akita Prefecture in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu, the main island of Japan.
I came here during Autumn(end of October), which is the perfect time to come to see the autumn foliage!

As for transportation, it takes 4 hours to get from Tokyo station to Akita station via the Akita Komachi Bullet Train.
It costs around ¥17,000($160 USD) however if you have the JR pass you just have to pay the small fee of the reserved seat on the Shinkansen(all seats are reserved).
Or if you are going up to Hokkaido or coming back down from Hokkaido, you can change at the Shin-Aomori station and take the local JR train down to Odate station.
Going back to Tokyo from Shin-Aomori station is also possible by taking the Hayabusa bullet train. (Around ¥17,000)
Even though Akita is in Japan, each prefecture is so unique in it's own way - I learned so much from this trip and could see a different side of Japan.. I hope to share this kind of Japan more and more with you through my channel :)

I took a picture of Takanosu Beach in Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture, in a cold wave.
The Takasu beach, which also has rocky shores, is popular for surf fishing.
It is famous as a fishing spot where Taikobo gets a lot of attention.
The fishing point for surf fishing that can be enjoyed throughout the year is attractive,
Red sea bream, parrotfish, flounder, black sea bream, kis, greenling, etc. can be caught.
Not only the locals, but also fishing fans from the Kansai and Chukyo areas are flooding in and attracting attention.
This time around Takanosu Beach, I took a picture at the timing of the once-in-a-decade cold wave.

If you are unhappy about non-walking video notification, please tell me in comments. Not like I'm going to do like this often, just wanted to show the video to few people as reference about the place.
Not filmed for any cinema purpose, just flying and looking around and above for anything interesting. Too much turns, but final part is quite cool. Unfortunately I had only 20 min and could not refilm properly.
I mostly use self-made editor, it's simple and ultra-fast. But sometimes I need more complex editing for mixing different cameras, color matching and mixing sounds. In such cases I used Davinci Resolve, but recent betas of version 16 were quite buggy. Few days ago they released final version 16 and I decided to test it with this clip.

World's Largest Taiko Drum! Akita, Japan | 世界の一番大きな太鼓: 大太鼓の館 - 北秋田市

北秋田市のお太鼓の館で世界ーの一番大きな太鼓を見えます。最も大きいものは直径3.80m、胴の長さが4.52m、重さが3.5tもあります。館で様々なサイズの太鼓があって40カ国以上からのドラムがあります。とても楽しい経験だと思ういます。
それに、九月に鷹ノ巣で太鼓まつりがあります。だから、その時に是非行ってくださいね〜
Found at Odaiko Hall (Odaiko no Yakata) in Kita-Akita, Akita, Japan, you can see the world's largest taiko drum which has a diameter of 3.8m and weighs 3.5 tons! The museum has many taiko of various sizes, along with other drums from over 40 different countries! The museum is very interactive and encourages you to try playing many of these drums! Very fun experience! :)
If you have the time, visit Takanosu around the beginning of September when they have the Kitaakita Taiko Festival! :D
