From the JR Tsuruga Station (located a 1.5-hour train ride away from #Osaka/#Kyoto or #Kanazawa), take a train for Higashi-Maizuru on the Obama Line and get off at the Wakasa-Takahama Station (about 1 hour 45 minutes/1,340 JPY or around $13 US)

●● Takahama-cho ( Fukui ) 日引（福井県・高浜町） East of Maizuru ** Hibiki in Takahama-cho ( Fukui ) 日引（福井県・高浜町）
The area of Hibiki is located in the west side of Takahama-cho which is a part of Fukui Prefecture. The area is bordering with north-east part of Maizuru in a promontory. Formed with 200 patches of rice paddies in the terrace on the sloping hill side of the village, this terraced rice field of Hibiki is designated as one of the 100 selected beauties of terraced rice field in Japan. As you go down the sharp sloping hill toward the village this Japanese styled Inn will strike out in the view. The name of the Inn is called Yoshiko 由幸. This entire village consists of only 23 households mainly farmers and fishermen. The mountain in the west side of the village is called Mt. Goshiki ( meaning 5 colors ) for the beauty of each season its landscape offers. The mountain is on the boarder of Takahama and Maizuru.
During your stay in Hibiki there is a nice homely accommodation style called Minshuku which is a traditional inn of Japan. Shiotomi-so offers great service.
** Kehi Shrine 気比神社
Kehi Shrine is built in this village to offer protection to the folks. This is one of the places enshrining a deity of Kehi in Hokuriku region mainly Fukui Prefecture. The highlight of this shrine is a huge Tabunoki Tree. Torii gate of the shrine turns into a frame to see the ocean view.
The location of this place is approximately 30 minutes from Wakasa Takahama Station by a car.
