Shizumine Furusato Park in Naka city, Ibaraki prefecture, has been selected as one of those “Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites.” Double flowering cherry blossoms, which made this park a famous spot that Japan takes pride for viewing cherry blossoms, are in their all glory every spring, from the middle of April to the beginning of May.
In “Yaezakura (double flowering cherry blossom) festival” held in this park, there are fun events such as lighting up for cherry blossoms, folk entertainment performances, concerts, and so on, adding gorgeous atmosphere to the magnificent view of double flowering cherry blossoms.

There’s plenty to see year-round, including daffodils, tulips, sunflowers, and oil-seed rape blossoms, and it’s also home to a small amusement park and traditional Japanese farmhouses.

► Kairakuen is a Japanese garden located in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture. Along with Kenrokuen and Korakuen, it is considered one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. Kairakuen was built relatively recently, in the year 1841 by the local lord Tokugawa Nariaki.
While worth a visit throughout the year, Kairakuen is most attractive during the ume blossom season, which usually takes place from late February until middle of March. Today, we are trying unmanned capsule hotel, Hotel Bt Iwaki, which opened in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, about 2 hours and a half by train from Tokyo. I stayed for 3,600JPY/25.2USD but one stay was available from 2,600JPY/18.2USD (As of April 2023). Just relax and enjoy the stay.

This time we have gone to city in Fukushima, Iwaki where hardly any foreign tourists have chosen as one of the their destinations in Japan even before the Covid-19! Even people living in Japan has never visited this small city, Now here we are to show you that this small city in the north of Japan is much more than anybody ever has expected with so many places, so many food to enjoy! We have spent only 72 hours in this city to see what this city is all about, and found out even for a city like this we just couldn't get enough! Notes about Daruma:
Daruma has its origin from India, and usually both or one of their eyes are left blank. Once a politician wins an election (or sports team), they would color in the eyes of the Daruma Dolls to celebrate, thus a Daruma doll is complete. We found out this was not a case with the Daruma Dolls in Iwaki as Takahashi-san has told us. These Iwaki Darumas are very unique, the designs are totally different from the ones you will find in Askakusa or any other places in Japan. WARNING: We have seen that there were fake Iwaki Darumas sold while our stay. Takahashi Darumas are the only certified Darumas in Iwaki so be careful!
Notes about the Shiramizu Amidado being the national treasure:
As mentioned, yes, Shiramizu Amidado is the only national treasure in Fukushima, as a structure. Currently there are 2 more national treasures which are a small Buddha doll and a scripture which are not regular shown to the public. If you want to see an actual National Treasure with your own eyes, the Amida-do in Iwaki is probably the best choice
Access to Iwaki:2.5 hours by car, or you can take the Super Hitachi Express train running from Ueno Station in Tokyo. It only costs around 60USD one way

National Hitachi Seaside Park adalah salah satu tujuan wisata paling terkenal di Jepang untuk bunga hemophoria dan tanaman Kokia. Pada bulan September, Kokia sudah besar dan hijau. Tanaman ini sangat indah terutama saat angin bertiup di perbukitan Taman Tepi Laut Nasional Hitachi. Pada awal Oktober, tanaman berubah warna menjadi warna berbeda. Kemudian warnanya bisa lebih dari 10 warna. Pada pertengahan Oktober, warna tanaman ini menjadi kemerahan dan sangat indah. Dua minggu setelah tanaman ini, pada akhir bulan Oktober warnanya berubah menjadi merah kecoklatan dan akhirnya menjadi coklat.

茨城県 袋田の滝 (日本三大瀑布) ・ 竜神峡の紅葉絶景 / Autumn leaves of Fukuroda Falls ( Ibaraki Japan )【日本の紅葉絶景！】 [ 4K ]
袋田の滝は、茨城県北部の奥久慈渓谷にある滝で、和歌山県の那智の滝、栃木県の華厳の滝と並び、「日本三大瀑布」の一つに数えられます。高さ120ｍ、幅73ｍの大きさを誇り、大岩壁を四段に流れるため「四度の滝」とも呼ばれます。四季折々の変化が魅力の滝ですが、秋は特に美しく、「日本の紅葉百選」にも選定されています。
近年完成した新観瀑台は、従来よりも50ｍ高くなり、最上段を含めた滝の全景を観賞できます。またトンネルの先にある旧観瀑台から滝の正面を望めるほか、側面を登るハイキングコースからも滝を見られます。
竜神峡（りゅうじんきょう）は茨城県北部を流れる竜神川の浸食でできた峡谷で、峡谷の下流部には竜神川をせき止めてできた竜神ダムがあり、そのダム湖の上空に歩行者専用の「竜神大吊橋」が架けられています。
竜神大吊橋の長さは375ｍで日本最大級の長さを誇り、ダム湖の湖面から橋までの高さは約100ｍもあり、橋の上からは眼下に峡谷や周辺山地の地形を見渡せます。竜神ダム湖は地形の影響で細長く曲がりくねった形をしており、春の新緑、秋の紅葉の時季には美しい景観が楽しめます。
橋の中ほどにはアクリルの透過板が設置されていて、湖面を真下に臨む身がすくむようなスリルも味わえます。また橋の上からバンジージャンプに挑戦することもでき、絶景と絶叫を体験できるアクティビティスポットです。
竜神大吊橋を渡ると対岸に「木精の鐘（もりのかね）」の施設があり、愛・希望・幸福の３種類の鐘の音色を鳴らせます。

Fukuroda Falls, located in the Okukuji Valley in northern Ibaraki Prefecture, is one of the three largest waterfalls in Japan, along with Nachi Falls in Wakayama Prefecture and Kegon Falls in Tochigi Prefecture. The waterfall is 120 meters high and 73 meters wide, and is also called Yondo no Taki (Four Times Waterfall) because it flows in four stages down a large rock wall. The waterfall is especially beautiful in autumn and has been selected as one of the 100 best places to view autumn leaves in Japan.
The new waterfall viewing platform, recently completed, is 50 meters higher than the previous one and allows visitors to view the entire waterfall, including the topmost part. You can also see the front of the waterfall from the old viewing platform at the end of the tunnel, and also from the hiking course that climbs up the side.
Ryujinkyo is a valley formed by the erosion of the Ryujin River, which flows through the northern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, and the Ryujin Dam, which was formed by holding back the Ryujin River, is located in the lower part of the valley.
The Ryujin Suspension Bridge, which is for pedestrians only, is built over the dam lake.The suspension bridge is 375 meters long, one of the longest in Japan, and the height from the surface of the dam lake to the bridge is about 100 meters, so you can see the valley and surrounding mountain terrain below from the bridge. Due to the topography of the lake, the shape of the lake is long and winding, and the beautiful scenery can be enjoyed when the leaves are freshly green in spring and red in autumn.
In the middle of the bridge, there is an acrylic transparency panel, which gives you the thrill of looking directly down at the surface of the lake. You can also try bungee jumping from the bridge, an activity spot where you can experience a spectacular view and scream.
