高知県土佐清水市にある隠れ家的な温泉、「海癒」の宿泊動画です。
オーナーファミリー4人で営むアットホームで温かいおもてなしのゲストハウス。
コンセプトは「素」。
ホテルでも旅館でもなく「ゲストハウス」。
初めての人に説明するのが難しいので、普段よりも説明部分が2倍くらい長くなっています（笑）
公式サイトを見ても抽象的で良く分からない。口コミを見ると絶賛しているものの、一般の旅館のような内容とは違う。
ハード面だけ見ると敬遠したくなる人もいるかもしれません（例えば、温泉の入浴時間が短い、タオル・アメニティなし、カーテンなし、部屋によってはエアコンがなかったり）。
でも、自分には合いそう！とピンと来た人にはきっと素晴らしい体験が待っていることでしょう！
訪問したのは10月下旬。
伊豆での海遊びも寒さの限界を迎え、もう少し南国へと高知を選び、計画中にたまたま発見したので行ってみることに。
電話番号の記載もなく、料金体系も良く分からない。
でも、素通りできない雰囲気なのでメールで予約。
予定の1週間前から何度もメールのやり取りをして当日を迎えることになりました。
たった1日でしたが、普通の温泉宿では味わえない、自分の旅のスタイルに旋風を巻き起こす！？滞在でした。

※源泉の掘削深度は500mではなく、1,000mです
※貯湯槽に使用しているのは醤油ではなく焼酎タンクのリサイクルです。
※サウナは現在やってません（2021/11）
※営業時間はオフの時だけが男女入替制で、シーズン中は男女別の大浴場で各15:00～18:00になります。
※貸切家族風呂は9:00～15:00です。

Today, we embarked on our adventure in the historic hot spring town of Hakone, aiming to immerse ourselves in the traditional Japanese culture housed in a Ryokan – Hakone Pax Yoshino. Despite a bit of a challenging trek with luggage, arriving at the riverside haven offering rooms punctuated with the nuances of Japan’s Edo period was worth every step.
An integral part of our experience was the indulgence in a multi-course Kaiseki feast, a gastronomic journey through meticulously prepared seasonal dishes embodying the zenith of Japanese culinary artistry. Balancing flavors, textures, and colors harmoniously, each course was a treat to both eyes and palate.
We explored the picturesque surroundings including the tranquil Sōun-ji temple and the vibrant Hakone-Yumoto Station area, a hub of unique Hakone souvenirs, and the serene Ajisai Bridge over Haya river, promising delightful photo opportunities, especially when adorned in a kimono.
As evening descended, we succumbed to the comforting embrace of the onsen, a spiritual cleanse in the hot spring bath perched atop the ryokan with a mesmerizing view, marking a perfect end to our day with a promise of more adventures to unfold tomorrow. Let the spirit of Hakone rejuvenate you, as we take on more discoveries. Stay tuned!

About 9.7 miles.
Since 2013, our company, Mountain Hiking Holidays has been organizing and leading hiking trips along the route of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. Also known as the Ohenro, this is an eleven hundred year old Buddhist pilgrimage route that circumnavigates the Japanese island of Shikoku. The entire pilgrimage to the 88 temples covers a distance of roughly 700 miles. Today, the majority of the pilgrimage route follows paved roads, so for our organized, guided hiking trips we focus on the best remaining trailed segments that lead through Shikoku's lovely mountain and woodland landscapes and are best suited for hiking.
Beginning in the spring of 2017 the Osaki Family set off on a personal, multi-year project to complete the entire Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage on foot including all the segments along paved roads.
In March 2017, we walked from Temple #1 (Ryozenji) to Temple #17 (Idoji) over the course of four days.
In December 2018, we walked from Temple #17 (Idoji) to Temple #26 (Kongochoji) over the course of ten days.
In December 2019, we walked from Temple #26 (Kongochoji) to Temple #38 (Kongofukuji) over the course of thirteen days.
In November 2023, we walked from Cape Ashizuri to Temple #41 (Ryukoji) over the course of seven days (100 miles).
This video is a log of Day #4 (out of 7 days) of our November 2023 journey along the 100-mile segment of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage between Cape Ashizuri (near Temple #38) and Temple #41 near Uwajima.
Sunshine again on this fourth day of seven. We did an out and back from Sukumo to Enkoji (Temple 39). It was hard surface walking alongside the highway for most of the day. On the way back to Sukumo, we followed an enchanting short segment of trail across a low pass through a bamboo forest.
