Straja & Transalpina - Skiing in Romanian Wonderland 2021
Straja ski resort is located in Hunedoara county in the heart of the Vâlcan Mountains, in the Valea Jiului area, about 8 km from Lupeni. Straja Ski Resort is one of the favorite destinations for tourists both in summer, for trips and hiking, and in winter for practicing seasonal sports (skiing, sledding, snowboarding) and spending holidays.
Transalpina – Vidra/Voineasa ski resort is located in Vâlcea County (Romania). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 6.1 km of slopes available. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,320 and 1,940 m. In the area of Lake Vidra on the peaks that exceed 2000m in height, the snow persists until May.

Am deschis sezonul de ski sau snowboard la Straja. E prima data cand ajungem aici si nu stiam exact la ce sa ne asteptam, voiam zapada din belsug si partii bune. Am gasit si una si alta (poate chiar mai mult decat de doream). :D
Am fost cazati in Lupeni si ca sa ajungem la Straja am luat telegondola care urca pana in straja. Telegondola functioneaza in fiecare zi cu exceptia zilei de marti de la 9:00 la 16:30 si o urcare costa 15 lei. Daca urcati cu telegondola va trebui sa luati si coborarea, deoarece nu se poate ajunge pe schiuri pana la baza. Este o partie micuta din straja care apoi coboara intr-o padure.
Un ski pass pe zi costa 120 de lei, dar nu include nocturna. Noi cat am fost nu a functionat, si eram de la primele ore ale diminetii pe partie - nu ne-ar fi tinut picioarele oricum pana noaptea. :D
La straja sunt 2 apres ski, unul pe partie de unde va puteti lua ceai, cafea sau ceva mai tare (se poate plati doar cash) si unul la baza partiei care accepta atat cash, cat si card. Tot la baza mai sunt cateva locuri unde se poate manca ceva cald dar cu putine locuri unde sa stai.
In Lupeni am mancat de la Pizzeria Mamma Mia si Country Burger House, care au mancare buna. Pe acestea le-am incercat si le recomandam cu drag.

Prezentarea statiunii turistice Straja
Staţiunea turistică Straja este localizată în judeţul Hunedoara, la o altitudine de 1445 de metri, în inima Munţilor Vâlcan, în zona Valea Jiului, la aproximativ 8 km de municipiul Lupeni. Complexul turistic este format din 210 cabane, case de vacanţă, pensiuni şi vile. Dintre acestea, 38 sunt omologate cu 1, 2 şi 3 stele. Straja a fost declarată staţiune turistică locală în anul 2002, potrivit H.G. 1110 din 20 octombrie 2002.
În Straja sunt amenajate 7 pârtii de schi, fiecare fiind echipată cu instalaţie de transport pe cablu (teleschi). Patru dintre acestea beneficiază şi de instalaţie de nocturnă, făcând astfel posibilă utilizarea pârtiilor până seara târziu. Pârtiile sunt în formă de evantai; astfel se formează suprafeţe schiabile în lungime de până la 5 km. Sunt întreţinute cu ajutorul a 5 utilaje de bătătorit zăpada, ratrac-uri, pentru a le menţine în condiţii cât mai bune de schi.
