Münster, Germany: Beautiful Places To Visit In The Westphalian City [Travel Video]
Another beautiful German city to add to the list! We got the chance to explore Münster (sometimes written Muenster), a historic university town full of life, charm, and bikes!
Known for the gorgeous Altstadt (Old Town), Rathaus (Town Hall), and Münster Dom (Cathedral), Münster is a city that we absolutely loved exploring. We even got the chance to have a coffee and lunch near the the main street/marketplace (Prinzipalmarkt) just taking in the city life!

Münster in 5 minutes ???? Beautiful student city with a historic city center
Münster is a destination for young people. The city has been honoured several times for its high quality of life. Most people travel here by bike, for example on the five-kilometer-long promenade or around the lake Aasee.
The historic city center around Prinzipalmarkt is a popular postcard image. Münster's historic town hall is known as one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Germany. St. Lamberti is the city's landmark. From the church tower, Münster's tower keeper, Martje Saljé, watches over residents and visitors.
The people of Münster are very warm and cheerful. You can feel this throughout the city. Just outside the city is the Allwetterzoo. Almost 3,000 animals live here.

Our visit to the city of Münster in Germany
A quick look at a historic city, in the northwest of Germany, in the Westphalia region, that is full of charm & culture.
Our walking tour is a look at the highlights of Münster from the Rathaus with its Hall of Peace (Friedenssaal), across to 13th-century Münster Dom, also known as St. Paulus Cathedral, with its 16th-century Astronomical Clock that we can hear chiming. A short stroll before we reach the Überwasserkirche, and the streets that double as the set of the popular German TV detective series “Wilsberg”.
We then explore the lanes of Kreuzstraße with its many bars before heading back to St Lamberti Church, and discover more of the city including stunning views from café “1648” before checking out the exquisite interior of Clemenskirche.
We then return to Prinzipalmarkt and onto the Carillon (glockenspiel) on Nonhoff House. Then we touch on the places of interest you will want to visit if you are staying in Münster, such as the LWL - Museum for Art and Culture, Stadtmuseum Münster and the Pablo Picasso museum.
We end up our visit with the Tower Keeper of Münster and climbing the 300 steps of St Lamberti Church, but it was well worth it.

Aasee is a lake at Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. At an elevation of 54 m, its surface area is 0.402 km². The Aasee is Münster’s most central local recreation area. It’s only a 15 minute walk from the Prinzipalmarkt and offers a whole range of interesting leisure activities for young and old - from walking through sailing trips to visits to the zoo.
With its picturesque paths, the Aasee attracts promenaders, bicyclists, and inline skaters to the countryside. A boat rental, a sailing school, and two sailing clubs invite you to explore the lake from the water. The physical well-being of the trippers is catered to by coffeehouses, restaurants, and hotels all around the lake.
The park around the Aasee, comprising approximately 900.000 square metres, was awarded a prize as Europe’s most beautiful park in 2009 (Europas schönster Park des Jahres 2009). Whoever is on his way around the Aasee won’t get past modern art. That’s because there are a lot of sculptures around the lake that have been created by internationally renowned artists specifically for the four major sculpture exhibitions from 1977 to 2007.
During the summer months, guests are shuttled by the solar boat SOLAARIS from the city centre to the four special Aasee attractions. The Allwetterzoo (All-Weather Zoo) is best-known to many from the ARD programme Pinguin, Löwe & Co”. Hippomax, the Westfälische Pferdemuseum (Westphalian Horse Museum) which is also located in the Allwetterzoo, is all about horses.

#bielefeld is a city in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe Region in the north-east of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. With a population of 341,755, it is also the most populous city in the administrative region (Regierungsbezirk) of Detmold and the 18th largest city in Germany.

Welcome to another Berlin Walking Tour! This time we will take a walk around some of the most famous places of the city. You will see the Spree River, busy James-Simon Park, which is close to Hackescher Markt, and the historic heart of Berlin: The Museum Island, one of the most visited sights of Germany's capital. This tour ends in front of the Berlin Cathedral. As Museum Island includes all of Spree Island north of the Unter den Linden, the Berliner Dom is also located here, near the Lustgarten. To the south, the reconstructed Berlin Palace houses the Humboldt Forum museum and opened in 2020. Since German reunification, the Museum Island has been rebuilt and extended according to a master plan. In 2019, a new visitor center and art gallery, the James Simon Gallery, was opened. James Simon Park is located in Berlin's Mitte district of the same name. It is named after the Berlin entrepreneur James Simon. The protected green area is located in a popular nightlife and strolling district of Berlin-Mitte. With 3.9 Million inhabitants Berlin is the most populous city of the European Union. It is surrounded by the state of Brandenburg, and contiguous with Potsdam, Brandenburg's capital. The two cities are at the center of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region, which is Germany's third-largest metropolitan region after the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Main regions. This was used as a natural barrier in ancient times to prevent strangers from entering the castle. The people still live there so it is not easy to get into the castle. Münster was the location of the Anabaptist rebellion during the Protestant Reformation and the site of the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia ending the Thirty Years' War in 1648. Today it is known as the bicycle capital of Germany.
Münster gained the status of a Großstadt (major city) with more than 100,000 inhabitants in 1915. As of 2014, there are 300,000[4] people living in the city, with about 61,500 students, only some of whom are recorded in the official population statistics as having their primary residence in Münster. Münster is a part of the international Euregio region with more than 1,000,000 inhabitants (Enschede, Hengelo, Gronau, Osnabrück).
