Старица - туристическая изюминка Тверской области
Город был основан в 1297 году Тверским князем Михаилом Ярославичем Тверским как крепость на реке Старице.
Одна из легенд гласит, что на этом месте был когда-то город Любим, разоренный до основания татарами.
А при заложении Старицы на в этих окрестностях жила одна старуха, укрывшаяся в одной из пещер, от которой город и получил своё название.
Все бы хорошо но про существования город Любим нет никаких документальных подтверждений.
В дальнейшем Старица часта переходила из владения одного князя к другому, когда по наследству, а когда и в результате военных походов.
Во времена Ивана грозного Старица стала его временной ставкой.
в 1609 году войска Лжедмитрия второго наказали старицу, за отказ присягать самозванцу.
Старицкая крепость была разграблена и разрушена, а случившийся через 28 лет пожар окончательно уничтожил крепость.

Tver Region (from 1935 to 1990 - Kalinin Region) is a subject of the Russian Federation.
The administrative center is the city of Tver. Until 1929, the Tver province existed as part of the Russian Empire and the RSFSR.
It borders on the Moscow, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Novgorod, Smolensk and Pskov regions.
Formed on January 29, 1935.
The Tver region is located in the west of the middle part of the East European Plain. It stretches 350 km from north to south and 450 km from west to east. The area of the region is 84,201 km², which is slightly more than the territory of the Leningrad Region. The distance from the Moscow ring road to the regional border is 90 km.
The territory of the Tver region has been inhabited since the final Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic. In the Bronze Age, tribes of the battle-ax culture and its eastern version, the Fatyanovo culture, lived on the territory of the Tver Volga region. Subsequently, measure. In the middle of the 1st millennium AD, the Upper Podvinye began to be intensively assimilated by the Slavs.

Tourism is actively developing on the territory of the Kimrsky and Kalyazinsky districts, as well as in Vesyegonsk.

Выходные в Старице! Спустились в пещеры!
Выходные в Старице, оказались просто сказочными! Да и само место очень дивное! Оказалось, что не так далеко от Москвы, есть по своему красивое не забываемое место с чистым воздухом, добрыми людьми и пещерами!
Так же, здесь неожиданно почти утопил Дрон))!
Но а город Тверь, как всегда порадовала, тем более мы попали на ее День Рождение 887 лет Твери! С праздником))! Очень все запомнилось, всему был сказочно рад!
