Metro is the most convenient way to travel in Saint Petersburg. It costs around 45 rubles (0,6 euros, 0.8 dollars) per trip, the trip ends by exiting the station you need to get off at.
To travel you can buy a token, buy Podorozhnik travel card (load money on it) or pay with your phone at the gate's readers. When entering, if you're carrying a bigger bag, it will be screened for safety reasons. You can hop on and hop off on as many stations you like without exiting the station (some last stations require you to exit the station, you will have to buy a new ticket to get back on in this case).

The State Hermitage Museum is a museum of art and culture in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The second-largest art museum in the world, it was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired an impressive collection of paintings from the Berlin merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. The museum celebrates the anniversary of its founding each year on 7 December, Saint Catherine's Day. It has been open to the public since 1852. It attracted 4,956,524 visitors in 2019, ranking it eighth among the most visited art museums in the world. Its collections, of which only a small part is on permanent display, comprise over three million items (the numismatic collection accounts for about one-third of them), including the largest collection of paintings in the world. The collections occupy a large complex of six historic buildings along Palace Embankment, including the Winter Palace, a former residence of Russian emperors. Специалисты расскажут об дрожках, изготовленных талантливым мастером-механиком нижнетагильского завода Егором Кузнецовым. В экипаже сконструирован специальный измерительный прибор - верстомер (прототип одометра) с несколькими циферблатами, оповещающий звонком о каждой пройденной версте.
Также в дрожки вмонтирован механический органчик с несколькими музыкальными пьесами. И механизм верстомера с шестью циферблатами, и орган, и детали росписи по металлической поверхности дрожек мы сможем увидеть во всех подробностях, - рассказывают в музее.
Зрители смогут посетить Музей мостов. В северной столице недавно открылся музей, который хранит их модели. Единственная в мире и уникальная коллекция моделей мостов формировалась Центральным музеем железнодорожного транспорта более 200 лет.

The Hermitage (from French ermitage - a place of solitude, a cell, a hermit's shelter, seclusion), the State Hermitage (until 1917 - the Imperial Hermitage) is the Russian State Museum of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts, one of the largest institutions of its kind in the world.
The main museum complex of the Hermitage is located in the historical center of St. Petersburg and includes six interconnected buildings - the Winter Palace, the Reserve House of the Winter Palace, the Small Hermitage, the Large (Old) Hermitage, the New Hermitage and the Hermitage Theatre. They have 365 halls open to the public. Also at the disposal of the museum are the General Headquarters, the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, the restoration and storage center Staraya Derevnya and the Menshikov Palace. The total area of the premises (buildings) of the Hermitage is 233,345 m², the exposition and exhibition area is 100,000 m².
The modern collection of the museum includes about three million works of art and monuments of world culture, collected from the Stone Age to our century. The collection includes paintings, graphics, sculpture and objects of applied art, archaeological finds and numismatic material.
The State Hermitage is one of the ten most visited art museums in the world]. According to the results of 2018, it took the 9th place in terms of attendance among museums in the world (4.2 million people visited it in 2018)]. In 2019, the Hermitage received 4,956,524 visitors, ranking it 8th among the most visited art museums in the world. According to 2021 data, the museum ranked 6th in the world with 1,649,443 visitors.
