The oldest city in Russia (founded in 859)| Life in a small city in Russia
Novgorod the Great (or Veliky Novgorod) was founded in 859 and is one of the most ancient cities of Russia. The population of Novgorod the Great is around 220000.
Today, I want to take you on a little trip with me to one of the oldest cities in Russia. We will explore a lot of streets and ancient Churches, visit the Kremlin, and I will tell you a little bit about the history of this city! I hope you will enjoy the video! A couple of weeks ago, I found myself in a very remote and unbelievably tiny village in Udmurtia, Russia. There was a big village party with live Russian & Udmurt music, street performances, traditional food and much more. Margarita, an Udmurt lady who opened a folk museum in this village, shared some stories and legends about this place as well as showed me around her garden and country house. Enjoy! :)

On my way from Kyrgyzstan to Korea I had a layover in the city of Vladivostok. There were no other routes available and I always dreamed to visit this city once. That's why I expanded my stay to 48 hours. Vladivostok is the main and most important city in the Far East of Russia. The name is a fusion of the two Russian words владеть[vladet' ] and востоком[vostokom ] and translates as possess the east.
I really enjoyed my two day stay in Vladivostok but unfortunately the time was to short to explore the entirety of the city and the region :(
