SKEGNESS | The ultimate tour of Skegness!

SKEGNESS is a seaside holiday resort near Ingoldmells and Mablethorpe and has a great pleasure beach, amusements, pier, amusement parks and lots more. We visit Skegness for a full seaside tour!
Also watch Ingoldmells Skegness -

In this video we visit Skegness beach where we see donkey rides and people enjoying the sea and beach here, then we head round to the vintage funfair, and round to Skegness Pleasure Beach to check out the rides and fair rides here.

After that we head along Skegness Promenade from the Pleasure Beach down to the Clock Tower where there are so many fish and chips shops you won't know which one to choose!

After that we pass Busters Fun Bar before heading into the amusement arcades here at Skegness and then onto the reggae festival and then across to Skegness Pier Amusements and then along the pier for another look at Skegness beach! Phew!

Skegness Lincolnshire is a fantastic holiday seaside resort with lots of hotels, B&B's, bars, cafes and restaurants so there are lots of places to stay in Skegness and plenty of places to eat and drink.

There are also lots of things to do in Skegness such as the Pleasure Beach with it's funfair rides, you could go on the beach and paddle in the sea or make sandcastles, or you could head into the amusement arcades here and see how much money you can spend ????

We visit Skegness on one of the hottest days of the year, having just been to Mablethorpe and Ingoldmells Fantasy Island earlier in the day. When we arrived in Skegness the sun was setting over the beach but we took our time to show you around all the noteable places, all the things you would want to see for your holiday here, and a few little surprises along the way.

The golden sandy beach at Skegness is worth spending time on and it's so huge that there's always a place to find to sit and relax.

For those youngsters on holiday who want something a bit more exciting then head into Skegness Pleasure Beach and enjoy the thrills of the rides or maybe something more gentle like hook a duck!
The vintage funfair is great with traditional fun fair rides to enjoy

The amusement arcades along the Promenade are big so you can get lost in those for a few hours.

If you fancy jumping on the bus or in the car you could head to Chapel St Leonards, Sutton On Sea, Mablethorpe or Ingoldmells which is just a short trip away from Skegness.

Here is what the VisitLincsCoast website has to say Whether you’re visiting for the day, staying for the weekend or longer, you’ll find your days packed with things to do, places to visit and experiences you’ll never forget.

Walk along the front at Skegness and it's a wonderland of family friendly attractions – go-karting, ten-pin bowling, funfairs and crazy golf are just some of the activities that will keep you entertained. If you want to kick back and relax then the Compass Gardens is a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

The resort’s beach has once again been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award, giving you peace of mind that it is amongst the cleanest in the world

Skegness is also where the Butlin's story began. Founded in 1936 by Billy Butlin, it was the UK's first-ever holiday camp and you can still see Butlins holiday camp here today!

Skegness, Lincolnshire – The Worst Seaside Town in England

Why is that so much hullabaloo and brouhaha about Skegness being a good town or bad to live or visit in England or the entire UK? It is not honestly not easy to ignore all those hubbubs and furor. We know you must have heard about this at one time or the other; especially now when the Internet currently is agog with the debate on which one is the best seaside town and the worst seaside town in England or in the UK as a whole. And this may have caused to you wonder if truly Skegness, Lincolnshire is the worst seaside town in England, according to popular opinion. Do you have to wonder so much when Learning Canteen is here to do the worry for you?
Oh! We have to acknowledge the fact that it is not everyone here that have been involved in the debate, either mentally or on the web. We, know, quite well, that some of our viewers might never have even contemplated this matter. While this location might not be everyone’s cup of tea, everyone will find it informative by the time we come up with a position you can trust.
What is more? Apologies to those who may need to know more about the Skegness in Lincolnshire. Please lend us some seconds to tell you more about this place at the center of this controversy. And that is exactly where we are starting from.
About Skegness
Skegness in the East Lindsey District of Lincolnshire is a seaside town. We also need to tell you that it is a civil parish and that it is located on the Lincolnshire coast of the North Sea. This town is 69 kilometers east of Lincoln and 35 kilometers northeast of Boston. Skegness is the largest settlement in East Lindsey while also incorporating Winthorpe and Seacroft to form a larger built-up area with the resorts of Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards.
Skegness is on the A52 road on which it connects with Boston and the East Midlands. It is also on the A158 road where the town connects with Lincoln. There is a Skegness railway station with trains plying the Nottingham to Skegness line, via Grantham.
Is Skegness the Worst Seaside Town in England?
We do not want to be the judge on this matter, we will propose our position so that you can choose whether or not to agree with us. We shall refer to the popular survey that sets tongues wagging. This is not the first time the poor old Skegness will be poorly rated.
However, in the most recent survey involving more than 4,000 holidaymakers, Skegness was ranked the worst seaside town in the United Kingdom. The survey asked them to rank the seaside towns they have visited. They were specifically required to rank all features of those resorts. This iconic beach resort in Lincolnshire achieved a score of just 49 percent. With that, it is at the bottom of the pile again.
It would seem difficult to agree that this traditional English seaside escape, got such a ranking. What has gone wrong and makes it look like things have gone downhill with this resort in recent years? Okay, let us look at those features rated and see if we would agree with the number of stars they were given.

10 Worst Seaside Resort Towns in The UK

What are the worst seaside resorts in the UK? Anyone leaving home to spend some time at a resort is going with high expectations. There are tons of things to do at seaside resorts. However, it’s not all seaside resorts that live up to their designation. Some of them could be better described as anything else but resorts. Some of these pseudo-seaside resorts are there in the UK. We hereby present to you the 10 worst seaside resorts in the UK.
After considering each of them, the choice is yours to patronize them or steer clear of them. These seaside resorts in the UK were rated based on several features that are expected in seaside resorts and they were weighted over 100 points. The following are the scores.
10. Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, England
Burnham-on-Sea is a seaside town located in Somerset, England. You would be fair to this place at the mouth of the Parrett River, upon Bridgwater Bay, if you reckon with it as a fishing village or town, for the sake of respect, that it used to be until the late 1700s when it began to grow.
While the park at Burnham-on-Sea was lovely with clean facilities and lots of activities, the resort could not score more than 48 points. The onsite pizza costs too much; you need a 10-minute walk to get a better deal. Most of the accommodation here is caravans without heating in the bedrooms. The bedding quality of the rooms is begging to be upgraded.
9. Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Wales
Colwyn Bay, a town and community in Conwy County Borough cannot escape our attention. Conwy is on the north coast of Wales where it is overlooking the Irish Sea. The town of Colwyn Bay is recognized as a seaside resort within the historic county of Denbighshire, no doubt. But what is in doubt is the quality of the resort. From what we know Colwyn Bay can’t earn more than 58 points.
Yes, the clean rooms, the security, and proximity to the North Wales Expressway, the railway station, and the beach count for something. However, the services were generally poor. The rooms are freezing without a heater and electrical fittings including plumbing were not being maintained. The food options were zero.
8. Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England
Then next is Great Yarmouth. Joining them in removing the prefix “great,” let’s comfortably join in referring to it by just Yarmouth which is more fitting than Great Yarmouth. In any case, it is recognized as a seaside resort town in Norfolk, there in England. Straddling the River Yare, it is located 30 kilometers east of Norwich.
As a seaside resort, Yarmouth ties with its more neighborly Burnham-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay in Wales to score 58. Though it has sandy beaches and two historic piers, amusement rides, and restaurants, Yarmouth as Norfolk’s flagship beach town is always crammed. Holidaymakers during the summertime suffer disorderliness here as if there are more services than the management could handle in an organized manner.
7. Morecambe, Lancashire, England
Morecambe is a town in the City of Lancaster in Lancashire, England. It’s hard to understand why Morecambe is still being referred to as a seaside resort. Up until the mid-20th century, it was a thriving seaside resort. Then it was home to the country’s largest Pontins resort.

Is This The Best Value Theme Park In The UK? - Fantasy Island

Fantasy Island is an indoor and outdoor theme park located in Ingoldmells on the sunny east coast of Lincolnshire, not far from Skegness. Back in 2016, the Mellors group acquired Fantasy Island and have made considerable improvements to the attraction line up, presentation and overall operation of the park.

Surrounded by the 7 day market, sea-side amusements and caravan parks, the area has some quirky rawness but this adds to the charm of Fantasy Island. Since 2016 the park has received a lot of investment to make it a more pleasant place to visit.

The park is home to 5 roller coasters including the giant Millennium smooth looping roller coaster and Odyssey, which is the steepest full circuit inverted roller coaster in the world!

There are many flat rides available including a Huss Magic, the S&S Volcano shot tower and towering Star Flyer. The dark rides are a unique and charming collection including the Magical Seaquarium boat ride, Toucan Tours monorail, The Guardian a high-tech robotic arm simulator set inside a giant projection dome and Harrington Flint’s Island Adventure an interactive trackless dark ride which is very fun and repeatable.

Fantasy Island is free to enter, you can then pay per attraction using a top-up card or pay for an inclusive wristband, which gives unlimited rides, free digital on-ride photos, high-ropes course and 18 hole adventure mini golf. I believe this represents one of the best value theme park deals in the UK.

Have you visited fantasy Island before?

What are your tips for having a great day at the park?

????If you plan on spending time on the beach, or have a hot tub at your accommodation, a poncho is perfect to keep you warm once you come out of the water. It also allows you to remove your swimwear with privacy! I have the cheaper version, but I have also given you a link for the dearer option, that many sports people use.
1) The cheaper version, which comes in different sizes and colours
2) The more expensive version used by surfers for example
3) Here is an option for a poncho for the non-UK market

????The camera was mounted on the inside windscreen using this
For non-UK markets, this is a similar product
