The Town of Sinj | Croatia
Town of courage and tradition!
The town of Sinj is the center of the Cetina region which belongs to the Dalmatian hinterland, a place that is geographically and socially linked to the wonderful karst river of Cetina. For generations, its inhabitants have been telling the story of how Our Lady of Sinj saved the town from the Ottoman army in 1715. To commemorate this battle, the Sinjska Alka is held every first Sunday in August, and it is one of the most attractive events in Croatia.
This equestrian competition, inscribed on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is not just your average tourist event with elements of folklore. It is much more. It simultaneously reflects the history, tradition, way of life, customs, courage, and religion of the local population, presented in a lively manner at the Museum of Sinjska Alka in the renovated Court of the Alka Knights.
Apart from its rich cultural heritage, Sinj will also surprise you with its excellent culinary offer. You can try the various delicacies such as the exceptional prosciutto, cheese, sujuk (a dry spicy sausage), and uštipci (doughnut-like fried pastry) that are served with them. Lovers of river delicacies can pick meals made of crab, Cetina trout, or frog, and proper gourmets will discover arambaši, a local meal from Sinj made of minced or chopped beef wrapped in sour cabbage leaves. You will not be able to resist the rich culinary offer from Sinj, but since this region is known for offering active vacations, you will burn those calories quickly with one of the many sports on offer: horse riding, cycling, hiking, canoeing, paragliding, skydiving, fly fishing...

The Town of Senj | Croatia
The town of Senj is the largest urban anglomeration on the Croatian coast beetwen Rijeka and Zadar. The town area comprises the maritime coast which is 76 km long and is situated beetwen the sea and the slopes of Kapela and Velebit (Velebit is the biggest mountain in Croatia). It’s at 14° 54′ 10” east longitude and 44° 55′ 24” north latitude. Its position on the Eastren Adriatic coast determines its maritime connection with the
Mediterranean towns and countries. It’s linked with the hinterland by the roads across the Vratnik pass (700m above the sea level) in the North, but also with the Vinodol Valley and Rijeka in the West and with Zadar, Split and southren Dalmatia in the South.
Northern Croatia has the continental climate. Central Croatia has pre-mountainous and mountainous climate, and the coastal area has the Mediterranean climate (with dry and warm summers, and mild and humid winters).
The temperatures (in degrees Celsius) in winter range from -1° to 3°C in the continental zone, from -5° to 0°C in the mountain region, and from 5° to 10°C in the coastal region.
The temperatures (in degrees Celsius) in summer range from 22° to 26°C in the continental part of the country, 15° to 20°C in the mountain region, and 26° to 30°C in the coastal region.
With 2.600 hours of sunshine per year, the Adriatic Coast is one of the sunniest in the Mediterranean. The temperature of sea during the summer season is 25° to 27°C.
The most common winds are the north-eastern wind called bura that brings cold weather, the landward breeze called maestral, which announces nice weather and starts blowing at around 11AM, and jugo, the humid wind that blows from the southeast.

Throughout this video, Steph and I travel all over Zagreb and give our top recommendations!
We learned that Zagreb truly is the city of museums! Although we only went to a few, if you plan on staying for a longer duration, we definitely recommend checking them out because there are some really awesome ones!
Oh and if you get the chance, try the traditional Croatian dish, Strukli! It's delicious and you wont regret it (unless you're lactose intolerant...then you might a little lol)

Based in Sinj, with destinations Ličko Pounje, Mazinsko polje, Cetinska krajina, Zabiokovlje, Neretva delta, Biokovo, Sv. Jure, Dalmatinska zagora.

A bronze statue of Our Lady has been placed on the stone cliff of the Grada fortress, which leads to the Stations of the Cross, from where there is a view of the largest part of Sinj surrounded by the mountains of Dinara, Svilaj, Kamešnica and the Sinj field crossed by the Cetina river.

Hostel Sinj is a new hostel and is situated in the very centre of Sinj, only 10m from the main promenade. The property offers you two mixed dormitory rooms. The first dorm is set for three persons and the second dorm for eight persons. Both rooms have air conditioning and free WiFi. In this video, we visit People's Square, a 15th century square with an Italian influence. The square features 15th and 16th century palaces, as well as an early 20th century palace, Old City Hall, the site of a former bookstore that was the third oldest bookstore in Europe, and the famous clock, with its 24 Roman numerals.
