उत्तरप्रदेश की सीमा से लगा हुआ जिला है सिंगरौली , जो पूर्व में मध्यप्रदेश का सबसे अंतिम जिला है सिंगरोली का सम्पूर्ण इतिहास रीवा रियासत के इर्दगिर्द ही घूमता है क्यों की ये पूरा क्षेत्र रीवा रियासत का ही हिस्सा था और यहाँ लम्बे समय तक बघेल राजवंश के राजाओ ने राज किया था | सिंगरौल क्षेत्र आज कोयले की खदानों के लिए सबसे ज्यादा प्रसिद्द है | आज सिंगरौली इन्ही खदानों के कारण आगे बढ़ रहा है | देश के कई बड़े बड़े कारखानों में इन्ही खदानों से कोयले का निर्यात होता है | जिससे जिले की आर्थिक संपदा में हर दिन इजाफा होता है | इसे मध्यप्रदेश की उर्जा राजधानी भी कहा जाता है | जंगलो और छोटे पहाड़ो से घिरे सिंगरौली में पर्यटन के तौर पर भी आपको कुछ अद्भुत स्थान देखने को मिल जायेंगे जो काफी प्रचलित है जहाँ अधिकतर पर्यटकों का आना जाना लगा रहता है |

मध्य प्रदेश में सिंगरौली एक अपार प्राकृतिक इतिहास वाले जिलों में से एक है। यहाँ एक बार रीवा रियासत का शासन था और इसकी स्थापत्य इतिहास भी उस समय से मिलती है। यह भारत सभ्यता के पालने में से एक बनी हुई है और इसे कई वास्तु सबूतों में देखा जा सकता जो जिले के चारों ओर उपस्थित है । सिंगरौली में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक माडा गुफाओं हैं। माडा, बैढन तहसील से 32 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर है, इन गुफाओं में 7 वीं-8 वीं सदी की तारीख मिलती है। सिंगरौली भारत के दिल में वन बेल्ट के रूप में निहित है यह पहाड़ियों, पहाड़ों, नदियों और घाटियों से घिरा हुआ है। इन पहाड़ों और पहाड़ियों राज्य में सबसे विश्वासघाती के कुछ विचार किया गया है। यह इन पहाड़ियों और घाटियों में स्थित है, माडा गुफाएं के बीच में है। इन गुफाओं चट्टानों को काटकर आर्किटेक्चर की न केवल सुंदर उदाहरण है, लेकिन शास्त्र की दृष्टि से भी महत्वपूर्ण हैं। इन गुफाओं जो विवाह माडा, गणेश माडा, जलजालिया माडा आदि जैसे विभिन्न नामों से जाना जाता है जो गुफाओं की एक श्रृंखला से मिलकर बनता है विवाह माडा गुफाओं श्रृंखला में से एक है और यह एक लंबी गुफा तीन भागों में बटी है। इस गुफा के उत्तर भाग में लोगो का मानना है की भगवान राम और सीता की शादी हुई थी । एक गुफा ऐसे भी हैं, जिनमें बीच में एक शिवलिंग के साथ चारों ओर स्तंभों और बड़े बरामदा बनाया गया है। यह एक दो मंजिला संरचना लेकिन आज केवल कम मंजिला बच गया है, लेकिन एक ऊपरी निर्माण मंजिला के कुछ सबूत अभी भी दिखाई दे रहा है। इन जुड़वां गुफाओं, गणेश माडा उत्तर सामना करना पड़ रहा है और शंकर माडा दक्षिण का सामना करना पड़ के साथ हैं। गणेश माडा तीन कमरों के बीच जो कमरे पत्थर का बना एक ऊंचे मंच पर शिवलिंग के शामिल होते हैं। इस गुफा का सबसे आकर्षक पहलू यह है कि गुफा के द्वार गुफा है, जो भी एक गणेश प्रतिमा है की छत में शीर्ष पर स्थित है। शंकर माडा गुफाओं गणेश माडा के रूप में दूसरी तरफ एक ही पहाड़ के बाहर खुदी हुई और नटराज अवतार में भगवान शिव की एक मूर्ति है। वहाँ भी बड़े एक पथिया कहा जाता है और छोटे से एक पईला के नाम से बुलाया जाता है जो पहाड़ के साथ चोटी पर दो शिवलिंग हैं।ये उत्तर-पूर्व का सामना करना पड़ रहा है और यह भी एक एकल पर्वत की गुफाओं में कटौती से बाहर हे। यह भी सबसे सुंदर स्थापत्य गुफाओ में से एक है गुफा हँस रहा था और इस इनमें से सबसे प्रसिद्ध क्षेत्र थे। लीजेंड हस यह गोद में उठाए झुला इस विरोधी रावण गुफा इन आईटी स्टैड में जिसके परिणामस्वरूप महिला रावण बुलाया जा रहा है। इस गुफा परिसर दो गुफाओं एक एक मंदिर गुफा है और अन्य एक भूमिगत गुफा है जिसमें से होते हैं जो एक पूल के रूप में में। मंदिर में भगवान शिव की प्रतिमा और एक देवी की प्रतिमा के होते हैं। सबसे दिलचस्प पहलू पूल गुफा पानी के एक अज्ञात स्रोत है और शायद प्राचीन काल में एक स्नान पूल के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया गया था कि है। किंवदंती है कि भक्तों जो पूजा के लिए मंदिर के लिए आया करते थे शायद भूमिगत स्नान पूल का इस्तेमाल किया स्नान और धोने और चेंजिंग रूम के रूप में गुफा के लिए यह किया है। इस गुफा से लगभग 200 मीटर की दूरी पर है, वहाँ एक छोटी देवी सीता सीता कुटी के रूप में जाना के लिए समर्पित मंदिर है। के पास यह एक छोटा सा झरना है, जो भी इच्छा को पूरा झरना के रूप में जाना जाता है और स्थानीय लोगों के बीच इसलिए लोकप्रिय है |
