अकबर का मक़बरा (Akbar's Tomb Sikandra) | मुग़ल बादशाह अकबर की कब्र Agra | History & Architecture

This video is about my visit to Akbar's Tomb Sikandra(अकबर का मकबरा सिकंदरा) in which I will be telling you about Akbar's Tomb history in Hindi(अकबर का मकबरा सिकंदरा आगरा). So, not only I will be talked about Akbar's Tomb architecture(अकबर का मकबरा) but also about its Akbar's Tomb location(अकबर का मकबरा कहां स्थित है/अकबर का मकबरा kaha hai) and facts. A lot of people also want to know about Akbar Tomb in Tamil(अकबर बादशाह का मकबरा), Akbar Tomb Malayalam, and Akbar Tomb history in Telugu but as I am well versed with hindi, so made this video in Hindi. This video of Akbar Tomb 4k can also be used by students to make Akbar Tomb Drawing and it also describes how and when were some parts of Akbar Tomb destroyed. If you want to know Akbar Tomb kaha hai, you need to watch the video. You can also Akbar ka Tomb and put interesting Akbar Tomb status on your social media profiles. A lot of people think that Jodha Akbar tomb(जोधा अकबर का मकबरा) are located in same compound but let me tell you that Jodha Bai's tomb(जोधा अकबर का मकबरा कहां है) is located 1 km away from Akbar's Tomb(अकबर का मकबरा कहां है).

Akbar's tomb is a well known tomb of the Mughal emperor Akbar. It was constructed from 1605–1613 by his son, Jahangir and is located on 150 acres of grounds in the Sikandra area of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, on the Mathura road (NH2), which is 8 km west-northwest of the Agra city center. About 1 km away from the Akbar's tomb, lies, Mariam-uz-Zamani's tomb, who was his favourite wife, who after the death of badshah Akbar laid a huge garden around his tomb and was later buried there by Jahangir.

After Akbar's death, his son Jahangir also planned and completed the construction of his father's tomb from the year 1605 to 1613. It cost a whopping 15,00,000 rupees to build and took 3 or 4 years to complete. Mariam-uz-Zamani, after the death of her husband, Akbar, laid a large garden around his tomb.

During the rule of Aurangzeb, Jats made rebellion under their leader Raja Ram Jat. Mughal prestige suffered a huge blow when Jats ransacked the tomb of Akbar, plundered and looted the gold, jewels, silver, as well as carpets. The grave was opened and not only that but Akbar's bones were burned.

Later when Britishers came to India and Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon directed big repairs and restoration of mausoleum of Akbar, which were completed in the year 1905. Curzon discussed the complete restoration of the mausoleum as well as other historical buildings in Agra in due to the passage of the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act in the year 1904 and he described the project as an offering of reverence to the past and a gift of recovered beauty to the future. This complete preservation project may discouraged veneration of the mausoleum by pilgrims as well as people living nearby.

The south gate is known to be the largest, which has four white marble chhatri-topped minarets that are quite similar to (and pre-date) those of the Taj Mahal, and is considered to be the normal point of entry to the tomb. The tomb is surrounded by a walled enclosure which is 105m square. The tomb building is a actually four-tiered pyramid, that is surmounted by a marble pavilion that contains the tomb. The buildings are made up of deep red sandstone, which is enriched with features in white marble. Decorated inlaid panels of these materials as well as a black slate adorn the tomb and also the main gatehouse. Panel designs are actually geometric, floral as well as calligraphic, and prefigure the more complex and subtle designs later incorporated in Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb.

Akbar’s Tomb History (In Hindi) | Akbar के मक़बरे का रोचक इतिहास | Agra Heritage Tour | Ep-6

This Video is based on my recent visit to Akbar’s Tomb Sikandra Agra. This is the place where burials of Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Akbar are present. In this Video, I will be telling you about the History of Akbar’s Tomb in Hindi. This tomb is known to be an important Mughal architectural masterpiece. It was started by Akbar in 1602 and after Akbars death in 1605 the construction work was continued by his son Jahangir(Salim) and it took 8 more years from the year 1605–1613 for completion of the tomb. It is located in 119 acres of grounds in Sikandra, a locality of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.

History of Akbar’s Tomb:

The most special thing about this tomb is that Akbar himself planned the tomb and selected a suitable site for it and started the construction of it while he was alive. So, the main question is Akbar’s Tomb was built by whom? After Akbar’s death, Akbar's son Jahangir completed the construction work of the tomb from 1605–1613. During the reign of Aurangzeb, Jats from Bharatpur rose in rebellion under the leadership of Raja Ram Jat. Mughal prestige suffered a huge blow when Jats ransacked the Tomb of Akbar the Great, plundering as well as looting the gold, jewels, silver and carpets. It is said that that even Akbar's grave was opened and his bones were burned. As Viceroy of India, when George Curzon came into power, extensive repairs and restoration of Akbar's mausoleum were done, which were completed in the year 1905. Curzon planned for restoration of the Akbar’s Tomb and other historical monuments in Agra in connection with the passage of the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act in 1904, according to which he described the project as an offering of reverence to the past and a gift of recovered beauty to the future.

Location (Where is the Tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar located) :

It is located at Sikandra, in the suburbs of Agra, on the Mathura road (NH19), 8 km west-northwest of the Agra city center. At around 1 km away from the tomb, lies Mariam's Tomb, the tomb of Mariam-uz-Zamani, who was the wife of the Mughal Emperor Akbar and the mother of Jahangir(Salim).

Akbar’s Tomb Architecture :

The south gate of this tomb is the largest, with 4 white marble chhatri-topped minarets which are similar to (and pre-date) those of the Taj Mahal, and is the usual point of entry to the tomb. The tomb is surrounded by a walled enclosure which lies in an area of 105 m square. The tomb building is a four-tiered pyramid that is surmounted by a marble pavilion which contains the false tomb. The true tomb, as in other mausoleums of Agra, is in the basement. The buildings are mainly constructed from a deep red sandstone, enriched with features in white marble. Decorated inlaid panels of these materials and a black slate adorn the tomb and the main gatehouse. Panel designs are geometric, floral and calligraphic, and prefigure the more complex and subtle designs later incorporated in Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb.

Sikandra aerial view: Mughal Emperor Akbar's tomb and gardens

Sikandra aerial view: Mughal Emperor Akbar's tomb and gardens

Sikandra, located only 13 km. from the Agra Fort is the last resting place of the Mughal emperor Akbar. Akbar was the greatest of the Mughal emperors and one of the most secular-minded royalties of his time. He was the heir to a long tradition of oriental refinement, a great patron of the arts, literature, philosophy and science. A visit to Akbar's monument opens before one, the completeness of Akbar's personality as completely as the Taj Mahal does of Mumtaz Mahal's. Akbar's vast, beautifully carved, red-ochre sandstone tomb is set amidst a lush garden. Akbar himself planned his own tomb and selected a suitable site for it. Akbar's son Jahangir completed the construction of this pyramidal tomb in 1613. The tomb stands in the centre of a vast garden, which is enclosed by high walls on all sides. In the middles of each enclosing wall is a monumental gateway. The whole garden is divided into four equal quarters on the conventional charbhag plan. Each quarter is separated by a high terrace or raised path with a narrow shallow water channel running at the centre. Each terrace has in the centre, a tank with fountains. A broad paved causeway leads to the tomb, which has five storeys and is in the shape of a truncated pyramid. The main tomb has a unique square design which is unparalleled by all other Mughal buildings.

Sikandra Fort Part 1 | Akbar's Tomb | Agra Heritage | Historical Place | Full Tour

The tomb of Akbar the Great, located in Sikandra, in the suburbs of Agra is an important Mughal architectural masterpiece, which was built between 1605-1613. Akbar himself commenced the construction of this tomb, according to Tartary tradition, which stated to commence the construction of one’s tomb during one’s lifetime. The South gate of this tomb is the largest with four white marble chhatri-topped minarets, similar to those of the Taj Mahal. The buildings are constructed mainly from deep red sandstone. An inscription on the mausoleum reads: ‘These are the Gardens of Eden: enter them to dwell eternally.’ This historical monument’s beauty cannot be justified in words and one has to visit this place to actually witness it.
