Novosibirsk Travel Guide - Russia Magical Atmosphere

Novosibirsk Travel Guide - Russia Magical Atmosphere

Novosibirsk is the administrative center of Novosibirsk Oblast in Russia. Located in the southwestern part of Siberia on the banks of the Ob River. Novosibirsk was founded in 1893 on the Ob River crossing point of the future Trans-Siberian Railway. Originally named Novonikolayevsk, it grew rapidly into a major transport, commercial and industrial hub. The city was ravaged by the Russian Civil War but recovered during the early Soviet period, and gained its present name in 1926. Under Stalin, Novosibirsk became one of the largest industrial centers of Siberia. Following the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War the city hosted many factories relocated from European Russia. Novosibirsk is home to the headquarters of numerous Russian corporations, as well as the world-renowned Novosibirsk Zoo. It is served by Tolmachevo Airport, the busiest airport in Siberia.

Novosibirsk grew into a beautiful place with booming cultural life (after the fall of Soviet Union). Russia's third largest city has embraced its status as capital of Siberia and opened its doors to the world. A slew of museums and monuments, a relaxed big-city vibe, a pulsating nightlife and a wealth of great accommodation are available to the visitors.

Summers in Novosibirsk are typically warm with average temperatures of around 18°C (64°F) but it can be cold at night. Summer months are also often wet and rainy and storms can occur. June and July are the sunniest months. Winter can be severely cold with temperatures dropping below -30°C (-22°F), but its usually around -15°C (5°F). Winter is often dark and cloudy and heavy snowfall is a regular occurrence. Spring and Autumn are both transitional months, and can either be very cold or quite warm. During spring, streets and roads can become dirty as a result of mud and melting snow.

The city center is fairly compact and a walk from the railway station to Lenin's square takes around 20 minutes. Public transport includes a Metro system in the city centre as well as buses, trams, taxi, and trolleybuses. A ride on intra-city public transport costs RUB35 or less.

There are many good dining options and many local chain restaurants. Lenin Square is a popular place to eat. Italian food, sushi, and Russian food are all very popular. Many cafes offer lunch specials on weekdays. With the exception of some high-end hotels, all hotels and hostels offer free WiFi and many have computer terminals. Almost all accept credit cards. Hotels and hostels will usually provide a visa invitation and registration for an additional fee.

Dangerous Bridge in The World: Kuandinsky Bridge in Russia That Daredevils Have To Repair As They Go

The dilapidated Kuandinsky Bridge in Russia leaves drivers precariously navigating a tiny six-foot-wide path. Its old metal structure is covered with rotting wooden planks, which can be slippery due to frequent ice in the area. The Trans-Baikal Region bridge was supposed to be a railway but is now used by daredevil locals to cross the river. You need to have nerves of steel to drive along this adrenaline-inducing rickety bridge in Russia. To cross the dilapidated Kuandinsky Bridge in the Trans-Baikal Region drivers must navigate a tiny six-foot-wide path - with no railing or safety features to save them from toppling into the frozen water below. To make matters worse, the old metal structure is covered with wooden planks, which can be slippery due to the frequent snow and ice. According to Oddity Central, the Trans-Baikal Region bridge - which crosses the Vitim River - was originally built to be part of the Baikal–Amur Mainline railway. However, this never came to fruition, leaving the 1,500 inhabitants of the Kuanda village free to use the bridge. If they dare. The decaying structure allegedly has not seen repairs in the three decades since it was built, making for a nail-biting drive for those brave enough to traverse it. Adding to this are the terrifying strong winds that threaten to sweep daredevils on the 1,870-foot-long bridge into the watery depths below. Drivers are said to cross the bridge with their windows rolled down to prevent the wind from toppling their vehicles off the sides. According to Russian blogger Sergey Dolya, who photographed the rundown bridge, surprisingly there is no online record of any accidents or fatalities linked to Kuandinsky Bridge. However, he speculates this could be due to the limited number of drivers who are brave enough to cross it.

An infinite plane beyond the Polar Urals – in the summer a kingdom of mosquitoes, in the winter cruel frost and snow storms. Tens of thousands of Gulag prisoners were sent here under Stalin. Today most of Russia’s gas is extracted here. The seemingly inhospitable world of the Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia is home to an ancient nation of reindeer herders: the Nenets. A Gulag.cz expedition visited them, and traces of the Gulag, in March and April 2011 (

На полуострове Ямал в северной Сибири, в этих, казалось бы, неприветливых краях, живут также ненцы — древний народ оленеводов. Amazing hospitality of a Russian Family in Tomsk, Siberia

In this video, I explore the charming city of Tomsk, Siberia, and discover its rich history, friendly people, and delicious traditional dish, Blini. The city has stunning wooden buildings, some of which date back to the 17th century, showcasing their significance in Russian architecture.

Tomsk is one of the oldest towns in Siberia and home to six state universities that attract over 100,000 students from all over the world. During my visit, Aleksei, a college student from Tomsk Polytechnic University, graciously acted as my guide, showing me around the city. He took me to see the impressive 400-year-old Kremlin building and also introduced me to a local fast food center where we tried out the Sibirsky Blini, a delicious traditional Russian pancake dish.

One of the highlights of my trip was meeting Anton and his family, who introduced me to the art of making Blini, a traditional Russian pancake, right from scratch. They shared their tips and tricks for getting the dish just right, and we enjoyed the delicious results together.

Whether you're a foodie looking to try authentic Russian cuisine, a history buff wanting to explore the city's unique wooden architecture, or a traveler looking for a unique experience, Tomsk is a must-visit destination in Russia. So come along with me and discover this fascinating city and its hidden gems!

I recently visited the coldest village on Earth. One of the things that I wanted to try for a long time, was to throw boiling water in extremely cold temperature. Finally, I did that experiment on a road in Sakha Republic, Russia. This is just a teaser of my Siberian trip. I'll continue with the Ethiopian vlog after this one.
