↪ P.S.: If you hate zoo environments or any sort of animal enclosure no matter if the conditions are well and good (as per what I witness during my visit), I suggest that you don’t visit this place or it will make you uncomfortable. As for me, I just try to keep an open mind; plus, I don’t immediately shun every animal park, especially if the animals are well-cared for (unless it's otherwise — do let me know). If it helps to note, foxes are one of the few animals who don’t suffer any type of stress when under captivity — but of course, I do know that it's ideal to rather let them be in the wild...
Yet again, their chances of survival in the wild is very slim especially with today's times. Looking at the facts, a fox in the wild has an average life span of 2-4 years only because of diseases, hunting practices and road accidents; but in places like this Fox Village, they can live up to 14 years. (Besides, you cannot imagine the number of people who would ‘kill’ for fox fur, nor the number of people who do fox hunting for fun/sport like the UK for example).

We went to the fox village in Zao, Miyagi Prefecture! There are more than100 foxes running free in the open space????. You can meet six types of foxes, including orange ones, black ones, and white ones. It was my first time seeing foxes, and they were not only cute, but also wild, so beautiful and charming!
The fox village is very far from the station. The most economical way to get there is by public bus, but it runs irregularly. Please check the website in advance. If there is no bus, you will have to take a taxi. Don't worry, the fox village staff will call a taxi for you on your way home.
The fox village was such a fun place! I think this will be one of the good ideas when traveling to Northeast Japan.
????JAPAN RAIL PASS is the economical and convenient means of traveling throughout Japan by rail. This is a great deal, so definitely check it out if you're likely to take the Shinkansen in Japan.

Q: How long was the trip?
A: Around 18 days. But I would say it's doable in 2 weeks. If you want more time to explore then 3 weeks should be more than adequate.
Q: How many days do I need in each city?
A: I would say 3-5 days in Kyoto and Osaka. Nara 1-2 days. At least 4-6 days in Tokyo but the more the better.
Q: How much did it cost?
A: Excluding hotels + airplane tickets we had a budget of around 2000 USD
Q: Is there vegan restaurant options in Japan?
A: Yes, I found plenty, and most restaurants offer vegan-friendly meals

Tokyo begins to bloom in the middle of March. But Tohoku sakura in Aomori, located at the northernmost tip of the Tohoku Region, starts about a month later, around mid-April.
Hanami flower viewings in Tohoku mean less crowds and you get to be closer to nature.

On the hunt for local Sendai street food like zunda (ずんだ - edamame paste sweets) and gyutan (牛タン - beef tongue), Shizuka Anderson visits Sendai Asaichi Morning Market (仙台朝市), near Sendai Station. Contrary to its name, the Sendai morning market is open through the afternoon and early evening, offering hot and delicious Japanese street foods and warm hospitality to visitors. Filled with local mom and pop shops, Sendai Asaichi is known for tasty treats, from savory treats made with their regional Sendai miso to unexpected beef tongue dishes.
Shizuka also learns about a local “God of Fortune,” Sendai Shiro (仙台 四郎), and visits the temple where he is enshrined. Legend has it that Sendai Shiro was a kind man with an intellectual disability, who was always smiling. All of the shops where he was warmly welcomed prospered, so he was considered a good luck charm by the businesses in the area. Their prosperity is a testament to the value of kindness and hospitality, and today Sendai Shiro’s image can be seen in many restaurants in the area.
While coastal areas of Sendai suffered extensive damage from the 3/11/11 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the warm hospitality and friendliness of the local people is leading the city towards recovery.

Shiroishi Castle in Shiroishi City Miyagi Prefecture Tohoku Japan where warlords of Sengoku period of Kagetsuna Kojuurou Katakura became the castle owner.
Currently, it becomes Masuoka Park and it is a famous park as a cherry blossoming spot in the spring.
On this site, there is also the Shinmei Shrine, a shrine whose main deity is Amaterasu Omikami, Masamune Date, the lord of Sendai, and Kojuro Kagetsuna Katakura, the lord of Shiroishi Castle.
東北春の風景、片倉小十郎景綱の居城である宮城県白石市の桜名所、白石城で満開に咲き誇る桜の花々です。
白石城は伊達政宗の近習である片倉小十郎景綱が城主を務めた城で、復元した白石城がある益岡公園には、城跡を取り囲むようにソメイヨシノなどの約300本の桜が咲く事で知られ、春になると地元の方を中心とした花見客で賑わいます。
歴史を辿ると、戊辰戦争時にこの地で白石列藩会議が行われており、これが奥羽越列藩同盟の結成に繋がった重要な建造物であった事が知られておりますが、残念ながら1874年に天守が取り壊された後には益岡公園になっておりました。
しかし、NHK大河ドラマ「独眼竜政宗」の放送時に白石城の城主であった片倉小十郎景綱も注目されるようになり、1992年から白石城の復元工事が行われ、3年後の1995年には三階櫓、大手の一ノ門と二ノ門、土塀の復元工事が完了しています。
この敷地内には、三光神のうちの一つである天照大御神や仙台藩主の伊達政宗、そして白石城の城主であった片倉小十郎景綱を主祭神とした神社である神明社も建てられており、杜の都仙台を築き上げた仙台藩や東北地方においても重要な名城であったことが伺えます。

Best time to see cherry blossoms in mid April
宮城県の桜名所として知られる、白石川堤一目千本桜の美しい風景と夜桜ライトアップです。白石川堤の一目千本桜は日本さくら名所百選にも選出されていて、ソメイヨシノやセンダイヨシノなど、約1200本を超す桜が白石川沿い8.5kmの区間一帯に植樹されていて、春にはピンク色の美しい花々を咲かせます。
特に人気となっているのは、JR船岡駅から大河原駅の間となる約3.5km区間で、おおがわら桜まつりを開催するメイン会場付近や、韮神堰付近から眺める桜と蔵王連峰の風景は撮影スポットとしても有名です。
おおがわら桜まつり開催期間中は夜桜のライトアップも行われて、昼間とは違った幻想的な景色がとても魅力的です。

【4K】Walking at castle and streets of Shiroishi
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
Last 3 days weekend I went to Miyagi prefecture, mostly for Fox village and Cats island. Fox village is located in Shiroishi city, while it's called village it's more like a zoo with open walk area which is not that big. Unfortunately when I arrived to Fox village I found that filming inside is prohibited so after taking some pictures ( and fling my first drone first time at nearby dam ( I wend back to the centre of the city.
While Shiroishi city is very rural it has it's own castle, of course as most of castles in Japan it's replica. After the castle I walked through city streets to the station. My next stop had to be Cats island.

Shiroishi Castle - Miyagi - 白石城 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the heart of Miyagi in the city of Shiroshi, the Shiroishi Castle, a flatland castle, was the home of the Katakura clan, a family in the Date clan. During the Boshin War, it was temporarily the headquarters of the Ōuetsu Reppan Dōmei. The castle was also known as Masuda Castle.
Built in 1591, it was later destroyed during the Meiji Restoration. Part of the castle tower was faithfully restored in 1995 using past specifications, design and even using the same kind of tree, such as Aomori white cedar which made Shiroishi Castle unique in the area.

Situé en plein coeur de Miyagi et dans la ville de Shiroishi, le château de Shiroishi, un château de plaines, était le château du clan Katakura, une famille du clan Date. Pendant la guerre de Boshin, il s’agissait également du quartier général temporaire des Ouetsu Reppan Domei. Le château était aussi connu sous le nom de château Masuda.
