A youthful university city on the Danube in the heart of Bavaria, Ingolstadt is the headquarters of the car manufacturer Audi. You can return to the very origins of the brand at the Museum Mobile, and follow all stages of the high-tech production process on a factory tour.
South of the factory is an old town of gabled merchants’ houses, neatly preserved and encircled by a Neoclassical system of fortifications from the 19th century. Now the old redoubt, tower and cavalier are museums, while the city they protected has haunting Gothic and Medieval churches and civic buildings that go all the way back to the 13th and 14th centuries.
One of Germany’s leading carmakers of Audi Forum has an big visitor complex next to its factory to the north of Ingolstadt. In a stylish steel and glass building completed in 2000 is a museum documenting the history of the brand, and the companies like Wanderer, DKW and Horch that would eventually merge with Audi.Register in advance and you’ll be treated to a privileged look at the work that goes into each Audi.
The celebrated Late Baroque architects the Asam brothers designed this beautiful church in the 1730s. One of the things that strikes you about the Church of Our Lady is that its two western towers have two different heights. The park is named after Leo von Klenze, who designed the defences, including Reduit Tilly (redoubt) and Turm Triva (tower), which now host a branch of the Bavarian Army Museum and the Police Museum respectively.
Bavaria’s army museum is almost 140 years old, making it Germany’s oldest military museum, and moved to Ingolstadt from Munich in 1972. The main collection is in the Neues Schloss on the left bank on the Danube, while the First World War exhibition is in Reduit Tilly in the Klenzepark. Dating to 1385, Kreuztor is one of two of Ingolstadt’s four city gates still standing from the second Medieval ring of fortifications.
A department of the army museum, the police exhibition is in the Klenzepark’s Triva Tower and assembled objects going back to the Bavarian Revolution of 1918-19. Some of the engaging themes covered by the museum include the stormy days following the First World War, border security during the Cold War and the famed protests that took place in the 1980s against the construction of a nuclear reprocessing plant in Wackersdorf.
Ingolstadt’s old town hall is a compound of four different houses going back to the 1300s. Ingolstadt’s municipal museum is in Kavalier Hepp, a cavalier from the city’s Neoclassical fort, raised at the start of the 1840s. Behind the Altes Rathaus is the oldest building in Ingolstadt, going back to 1234. The Moritzirche also has traces of an even older building from the 800s when the city was founded.
The only specialised museum of its kind in the country is in the 18th-century anatomical theatre building established to train medical students at the University of Ingolstadt. The oldest secular building in Ingolstadt is the whitewashed Gothic castle built in 1255 for Louis II, Duke of Bavaria.

Über dem Lauterachtal thront seit dem 10. Jhd. die Burganlage von Kastl. 1098 wurde beschlossen, die Burg in ein Kloster umzuwandeln.
1103 erfolgte die Gründung und 1129 wurden der Chor und die Egidiuskapelle geweiht. Die Bauarbeiten für die Klosterkirche wurden Ende des 12. Jhds. beendet. Durch ständige Umbauten und Erweiterungen erhielt die Kirche ihr heutiges Erscheinungsbild. 1782 ging sie in den Besitz der Malteser über.
Die Basilika wird seit dem Jahr 1808 als Pfarrkirche genutzt. Ein spätgotisches Hauptportal, ein vierjochiges Tonnengewölbe, der Stützenwechsel von Säulen und Pfeilern im Hauptschiff, die gotische Steintumba in der Vorhalle, was einst das Grab der verstorbenen Prinzessin Anna war, machen die Kirche zu einem echten Schmuckstück.
Prinzessin Anna war die Tochter König Ludwigs des Bayern und verstarb 1319. Die Mumie des eineinhalb Jahre alten „Kastler Kindes“ wurde bis Ende 2013 konserviert und kann wieder besichtigt werden. Außerdem birgt die Vorkirche den Sarkophag des Feldherrn Schweppermann.

Audi AG is a German automobile manufacturer that designs, engineers, produces, markets and distributes luxury vehicles. Audi is a member of the Volkswagen Group and has its roots at Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Audi-branded vehicles are produced in nine production facilities worldwide.
The origins of the company are complex, going back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch; and two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer), leading to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern era of Audi essentially began in the 1960s when Auto Union was acquired by Volkswagen from Daimler-Benz.[10] After relaunching the Audi brand with the 1965 introduction of the Audi F103 series, Volkswagen merged Auto Union with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969, thus creating the present day form of the company.

However, Audi USA had used the slogan Truth in Engineering from 2007 to 2016, and have not used the slogan since 2016.[11] Audi, along with fellow German marques BMW and Mercedes-Benz, is among the best-selling luxury automobile brands in the world.[12]

Am Donnerstag, dem sogenannten „Bauerntag“, wird die Speisekarte um bayrische Schmankerl mit hausgemachten Soßen erweitert. Auch Vegetarier kommen hier nicht zu kurz.
Als Geschenk zum Mitnehmen sind besonders der Hirschschinken und die Hirschsalami beliebt.
Für Kinder gibt es eine eigene Speisekarte und einen tollen Spielplatz zum Toben.
Regionale Biere runden das vielfältige Angebot ab.

Das Ehepaar ist mit Leib und Seele bei der Arbeit. Bei vielen wechselnden Events musiziert der „singende Wirt“ persönlich für seine Gäste. Das Gasthaus Waldschänke wurde übrigens als „musikantenfreundliches Lokal“ ausgezeichnet und unter den besten Oberpfälzer Lokalen angeführt.

Wanderung entlang dem Jägersteig bei Dollnstein | Altmühltal 2021
Hallo !!!
Heute geht es in das Altmühltal. Schon öfters gelesen das der Jägersteig ein lohnendes Ziel sein soll. Also nichts wie hin und bei dieser Gelegenheit, wie immer auch ein Video davon gemacht. Eins vorab, bei nassen Untergrund ist der Weg des öfteren sehr rutschig, daher ist wirklich Vorsicht geboten. Auf alle Fälle, ist das ein sehr schöner Steig mit viel Auf und Ab, was wirklich sehr reizvoll ist. Schöne Ausblicke, ruhige Plätze zum verweilen und was auch wichtig ist, einfach Zeit nehmen und die Ruhe und Natur auf sich wirken lassen. Am Ende des Steigs befindet sich als letzter Höhepunkt die Felsruine Beixenstein.

The park is very beautiful and you can spend the whole day there with children. Several playgrounds are available. Also a great forest playground. You can eat there and buy drinks as well. Forest park with model dinosaurs, fossilexhibits and an outdoor playground area. The Dinosaur Museum Altmühltal is only 2 kilometres from the motorway. There is sufficient parking space for cars and buses.

Wanderung durch die Schwarzachklamm
Eine der beeindruckensten Landschaften in der nähe der Stadt Nürnberg. Die Schwarzachklamm, oder auch Schwarzach Durchbruch, bei Schwarzenfeld. Mit einer Länge von etwa 2 Kilometern ist sie auch für Kinder und Ältere gut machbar. Ich bin die Strecke, welche auf der Tafel am Anfang des Videos gezeigt wird, von B nach A gegangen. Diese Richtung empfiehlt sich besonders, da sich so die landschaftlichen Höhepunkte im Verlauf des Weges steigern. Abweichend von den Angaben der Tafel empfand ich den Weg als Leicht. Es gibt außer ein paar Stufen und drei Treppen sogut wie keine Schwierigkeiten. Mit etwas zusammenhalt kann diese auch eine Familie mit Kinderwagen bewältigen. Meine Wanderung habe ich noch weiter fortgesetz bis Schwarzenbruck. Hier gibt es noch zwei schöne Schlösser, welche aber leider nur von außen besichtigt werden können. Mein Rückweg führte dann auf der anderen Flussseite oberhalb der Schlucht entlang. Vorbei am historischen Ludwig-Main-Donau-Kanal und der beeindruckenden Kanalbrücke ging es hier bequem zurück zum Startpunkt.
Das ich unterwegs nicht mehr erzählt und gesagt habe, liegt vermutlich daran, das ich es vor lauter Faszination über die Schönheit der Landschaft, und der Ruhe an diesem Morgen vergessen hatte.
Die Höhle im Steinbuckel bei Altmannstein
In der Nähe von Altmannstein gibt es einen Ort der sich Höhle im Steinbuckel nennt.
Eine kleine Doline mit einer Höhle die etwa 6-7 Meter in den Fels hineinragt.
Altmannstein hat in der ganzen Umgebunh auch andere Schöne Wanderwege und ist ein besuch zum Abschalten wert.
