Best Festivals in Bhutan | Bhutan Festival Series | Compilation of the Festivals in Bhutan

Today, we are sharing our Bhutan tourism and festival series, taking you on a journey to Bhutan. The country of Bhutan is famous for beautiful monasteries and breathtaking landscapes. It's a Buddhist country on the eastern edge of the Himalayas and serves as a popular trekking destination.

The Druk Wangyel Festival at Dochula happens annually on the 13th of December. Though less than a decade old, the new choreography and costumes make this festival the most unique event in Bhutan.

Paro Tshechu is one of the most famous festivals in Bhutan which is held for 5 days beginning on the 10the day of the 2nd Bhutanese lunar month and ends on the 15th day. On the last day of the celebration, a gigantic Thangkha (Thongdrel) of Guru Rinpoche will be displayed inside the Dzong.

The “Royal Highlander Festival” is being organized at Laya, Gasa District to sensitize the highlanders on the decline of yak farming with increased vulnerability from instantly short-term income-generating activities that seem to be challenging the sustainability of livelihoods in the future in the highlands. The festival is also aimed to enlighten stakeholders on the importance of their spirited participation in enhancing the economic opportunity of the highlanders.

Punakha Tshechu, as all Tshechu festivals, honors Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rimpoche, the precious yogi and saint who is credited with having introduced Tantric Buddhism throughout the Himalayas. It is 3 days long festival that begins on the 10th day of the 1st month of the Buddhist lunar calendar.

The best time for Bhutan travel and tourism is October to December when the air and sky are most fresh and clear. Bhutan is a bit cooler in January and February, but the climate is ideal through late spring. Bhutan is considered by many to be an excellent value for travel and tourism.

For many years, the culture was isolated from the rest of the world, but now, many travelers find that Bhutan is great to travel destination. In the past, Bhutan was one of the poorest countries in Asia, but now it has one of the world's fastest-growing economies. Bhutan is very safe, and the crime rate is very low. Both petty crime and violent crime are very rare and uncommon.

Tourists who want to visit Bhutan are required to have a visa and must book their holiday through a Bhutanese tour operator. We would be happy to help you plan your next holiday to Bhutan!

Solo in Punakha Bhutan | Things to Do | Bhutan Travel Guide | Bhutan Series Ep 3 | Tanya Khanijow

Here’s presenting the Third part of the Bhutan Series in Punakha. I went to Punakha after thimphu, as first part of my road trip in the country. This video is in collaboration with Zinigo

Zinigo organises trips to Bhutan, Sikkim, Meghalaya, to some really off beat locations. They also have special packages for North East India in case you're planning a trip anywhere. With me they came up with a special discount code for all of you: TANYA@BHUTAN . Those who book through this would get flat INR 2000 off on all their package cost. To use the coupon code, send a mail to sandip.tiwari@zinigo.com
Hope this helps you plan your trip.

The entire budget of my Bhutan trip was close to INR 25-30k. You can carry cash everywhere in Indian currency in Bhutan as it is accepted. Some things about Paro below:

** If you need a driver in Bhutan, you may contact Mr. Yonten. His number is +975 17672515. You can also reach out to Mr. Somraj Chettri: +975 77451302.

** If you are visiting Bhutan, I would highly advice you to get a local sim for contacting tour agencies or driver. A local sim will be available for INR 200 at Phuntsholing.

** I stayed in Punakha at Damchen Resort

Bhutan Tourist Places | How to Travel Bhutan Form India | Day 1

Day 1
We Travelled to Bhutan from Dubai.via India. We had a hopping flight via Delhi and it was 5 hours gap in between. From Delhi we took our flight to Bagdogra Airport from bagdogra airport we travelled to Bhutan by road.

The road from Bagdogra to Bhutan is quite well maintained and it was very smooth journey in between we stopped for some tea and went directly to Bhutan. The city from where we entered was Phuentsholing and that was the place where our immigration process was done.

The immigration process was quite smooth it took just 5 mins for the all the process. We met with our guide here only and he was very kind and gentle.

Our luggage was also transferred directly to our hotel which was just walking distance from immigration office.

Then we checked in to our hotel took some rest. It was already evening till that time so we explored the local city by walk.We visited on Zangto Pelri Lhakhang monastery which was near by to our hotel.

About Bhutan

Bhutan (known as the Land of Thunder Dragon) is a country in South Asia known for its beautiful mountainous landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and commitment to Gross National Happiness. The capital city of Bhutan is Thimphu, which is also the largest city in the country.

Thimphu is located in the western part of Bhutan and sits at an elevation of 2,320 meters (7,610 feet) above sea level. Despite being the capital city, Thimphu has a relatively small population of around 115,000 people. The city is known for its unique blend of traditional Bhutanese architecture and modern development.

One of the most famous landmarks in Thimphu is the Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery that serves as the seat of the Bhutanese government. The dzong was originally built in 1641 and has since undergone several renovations and additions. Another popular attraction in Thimphu is the Buddha Dordenma statue, which stands at 169 feet tall and is made of bronze and gold.

In addition to its cultural attractions, Thimphu also offers plenty of outdoor activities, including hiking, trekking, and mountain biking. The city is surrounded by beautiful mountains and valleys, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers.

Overall, Thimphu is a fascinating city that offers a unique blend of traditional Bhutanese culture and modern development. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or outdoor adventure, Thimphu has something to offer.

Sershong Tshechu, Place to Visit in Gelephu Bhutan, Bhutanese YouTuber

I attended Sershong tsechu for the first time and it was worth attending with blessings. Since Gelephu region is located in Southern part of Bhutan, I rarely find this kind of festivals and holy sites to visit . I had great day ✨????????

About SARALPARA :

Saralpara, in Kokhrajhar, is a perfect hotspot for spending a day amidst tall mountains and a rivulet running through the valley. It is located at a distance of 65 km from Kokrajhar town. It is more accessible from Kokrajhar town or Bongaigaon town.

From Bongaigaon, it takes around 3 hours to reach Saralpara. If you are planning to visit Saralpara from Guwahati for a picnic party then it will be quite hazardous as the travelling time will take around 6-7 hours. You can instead take a halt at Bongaigaon and proceed the next day. But this is going to cost you some extra amount of money.

Situated along the Indo-Bhutan border, Saralpara in Kokrajhar district is quite nearby to the headquarter of Sarpang Dzonkhag (DC) in Bhutan. Once in Saralpara, you will get the feel of being in a Bhutanese village with small Bhutanese temple and prayer flags all over.
