Bagerhat district is under Khulna Division of Bangladesh. It is in the South-western part of Bangladesh. Once it was under the Khalifabad Pargana. Bagerghat is also known as the city of Mosque, a large number of mosques in the district. Khan Jahan Ali’s tomb is one of the main attractions for tourist of Bagerhat. The Shat means sixty Gambuj Mosque built in 1459. Bagerghat was declared as a district only in 1984. Sundarbans, Mongla port are in this district. There are many interesting tourist places to visit.

বাংলাদেশের দক্ষিণ পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের একটি জেলা বাগেরহাট । এটি খুলনা বিভাগ এর একটি প্রশাশনিক অঞ্চল । বাগেরহাট জেলার উত্তরে গোপালগঞ্জ ও নড়াইল জেলা, পশ্চিমে খুলনা জেলা, দক্ষিণে বঙ্গোপসাগর এবং পূর্বে পিরোজপুর ও বরগুনা জেলা।এ জেলার আয়তন ৫৮৮২.১৮ বর্গকিলোমিটার।১৯৮৪ সালের ২৩ ফেব্রুয়ারী জেলায় উন্নীত হয়।
বাগেরহাটের নাম কে দিয়েছিলেন তা গবেষণা সাপেক্ষ হলেও আজ তা নিরূপন করা দুঃসাধ্য।বাগেরহাটের নিকটবর্তী সুন্দরবন থাকায় এলাকাটিতে বাঘের উপদ্রব ছিল, এ জন্যে এ এলাকার নাম হয়ত ‘‘বাঘেরহাট’’ হয়েছিল এবং ক্রমান্বয়ে তা বাগেরহাট-এ রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে। তবে সবচেয়ে গ্রহণযোগ্য মতটি হচ্ছে শহরের পাশ দিয়ে প্রবাহিত ভৈরব নদীর উত্তর দিকের হাড়িখালী থেকে বর্তমান নাগের বাজার পর্যন্ত যে লম্বা বাঁক অবস্থিত, পূর্বে সে বাঁকের পুরাতন বাজার এলাকায় একটি হাট বসত। আর এ হাটের নামে এ স্থানটির নাম হলো বাঁকেরহাট। কালক্রমে বাঁকেরহাট পরিবর্তিত হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে বাগেরহাট নামে।
হযরত খানজাহান (রঃ) এর মাজারগাত্রে উৎকীর্ণ শিলালিপি পাঠ করে তাঁর কিছুটা পরিচয়ের সূত্র পাওয়া যায়। কিন্তু এ সাধকের প্রকৃত নাম ও বিসত্মারিত পরিচয় আজও সঠিকভাবে জানা যায়নি। উক্ত শিলালিপিতে তাঁর নাম পরিচয়“ খানে আযম খানজাহান” ও “উলুঘ খানহাজান”লেখা আছে। শিলালিপিতে আরবী ও ফারর্সী ভাষায় তাঁর মৃত্যু তারিখ ৮৬৩ হিজরী ২৬ জিলহজ্ব বুধবার (মোতাবেক ১৪৫৯ সালের ২৩ অক্টোবর মতামতরে ২৪ অক্টোবর) উলেস্নখ আছে. ।

যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা : ঢাকা থেকে এই জেলার দুরত্ব ৩৭০ কিলোমিটার ।ঢাকা থেকে বাগেরহাটে সাধারনত সড়ক পথেই যাতায়েত করা হয়ে থাকে। ঢাকা থেকে বাগেরহাট জেলায় সড়ক পথে যাতায়েত করতে সময় লাগে ৭ থেকে ৮ ঘন্টা, তবে ফেরী পারাপারের সময় যানজট থাকলে সময় বেশী লাগে।

In 2001, after receiving a fund from the UNESCO, a museum has built by the government at Bagerhat in the UNESCO world heritage site “Shat Gombuj Mosque” complex. It is now being used as a learning center to let people aware about the ancient city named Khalifatabad established by Khan Jahan Ali which is known as Bagerhat today.
The Sixty Dome Mosque (Bengali: ষাট গম্বুজ মসজিদ Shaṭ Gombuj Moshjid; more commonly known as Shait Gambuj Mosque or Saith Gunbad Masjid), is a mosque in Bagerhat, Bangladesh. It is a part of the Mosque City of Bagerhat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the largest mosque in Bangladesh from the sultanate period (1352–1576). It was built during the Bengal Sultanate by Khan Jahan Ali, the governor of the Sundarbans. It has been described as one of the most impressive Muslim monuments in the whole of South Asia.
Ulugh Khān Jahān `Alī (Bengali: উলুগ খান জাহান আলী), was a Muslim saint and the Khan-i-Azam of Khalifatabad (now in Bangladesh). It is believed that he built the great Mosque City of Bagerhat, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Baleshwari River is located in Bangladesh, forming part of the eastern border of Bagerhat District and the western border of Barguna District. It borders on the east the largest mangrove forest in the world, in the Ganges-Brahmaputra delta, the Bangladesh part of which is set aside as the Sundarbans Reserve Forest. The Baleshwar River flows south into the Haringhata River, which flows into the Bay of Bengal.

শরণখোলা ও তাফালবাড়ি (সুন্দরবনের নিকটে ২টি বাজার) | Tafalbari & Sarankhola (2 Bazaars Near Sundarban) ভিডিওটি মূলত বাগেরহাটের শরণখোলা উপজেলায় অবস্থিত ২টি বাজারের ভিডিও। ২টি বাজারই সুন্দরবনের খুব কাছাকাছি অবস্থিত। তাফালবাড়ি বাজারটি শরণখোলার সাউথখালি ইউনিয়নে অবস্থিত। শরণখোলা উপজেলার রায়েন্দা ইউনিয়ন ও বাজার হতে দক্ষিণে প্রথমে তাফালবাড়ি ও পরে সুন্দরবনের খুব কাছাকাছি শরণখোলা বাজারটি অবস্থিত। শরণখোলা বাজার এর পর আর কোন জনপদ নেই। ত্যাড়াব্যাকা খাল ও ভোলা নদীর পরেই সুন্দরবন শুরু। শরণখোলা বাজার হতে সুন্দরবন দেখা যায়। ত্যাড়াব্যাকা নদী বা খালের পরেই “শরণখোলা ফরেস্ট রেঞ্জ অফিস”। তারপর ভোলা নদী ও সুন্দরবন।
তাফালবাড়ি ও শরণখোলায় ঘূর্ণিঝড় আইলা ও সিডর এর প্রভাব বেশি পরিলক্ষিত হয়েছিলো। তবে এখানকার মানুষ এখন ঘুরে দাড়িয়েছে। স্বাভাবিক হয়ে আসছে জীবনযাত্রা। মানুষের কাছে শোনা যায়, সিডরের সময় এখানে ধনী-গরীব প্রত্যেকেই ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হয়েছে। দুটি স্থানেরই মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় পাক-হানাদার বাহিনীর সাথে মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের যুদ্ধের ইতিহাস রয়েছে। সেই ভিডিও আরেকদিন আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করবো ইনশাল্লাহ্।

মঠবাড়িয়ার প্রাচীন ইতিহাস মূঘল আমলে থেকেই গ্রোথিত । সুবেদার মুর্শিদ কুলি খাঁ আগা বাকের খাঁ কে পাঠিয়েছিলেন কির্তন খোলা নদীর তীর ঘেষে চন্দ্রদ্বীপের এলাকায় যা আগাঁ বাকের তাঁর নামানুসারে বাকের গঞ্জে নাম করন করা হয় । এই বাকের গঞ্জের মৌজায় আরো নিচূ এলাকায় মঠবাড়িয়ার হিন্দু অধ্যুষিত মঠ সমারোহে এর নামকরণ করা হয় মঠবাড়িয়া । মঠবাড়িয়া থানা প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় ১৯০৪ সালে।মঠবাড়িয়া উপজেলায় বর্তমানে ১টি পৌরসভা ও ১১টি ইউনিয়ন রয়েছে।এগুলো হচ্ছে -মঠবাড়িয়া পৌরসভা,আমড়াগাছিয়া,টিকিকাটা,তুষখালী,দাউদখালী,ধানীসাফা,বড় মাছুয়া,বেতমোর রাজপাড়া,মঠবাড়িয়া,মিরুখালী,শাপলেজা এবং হলতা গুলিশাখালী ইউনিয়ন। কৃতি সন্তানদের মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলেন শহীদ নূর হোসেন (১৯৬১ - ১০ নভেম্বর ১৯৮৭) - রাজনৈতিক কর্মী।
মহিউদ্দিন আহমেদ (১৯২৫-১৯৯৭) - রাজনীতিবিদ; খান সাহেব হাতেম আলী জমাদার (১৮৭২-১৯৮২) - বঙ্গীয় প্রাদেশিক আইন সভার সদস্য; মেজর (অবঃ) মেহেদী আলী ইমাম (মৃত্যুঃ ১৯৯৬) - স্বাধীনতাযুদ্ধের বীর সেনানী, বীরবিক্রম; করপোরাল আব্দুস সামাদ (মৃত্যু ২০১৮) - আগরতলা ষড়যন্ত্র মামলার ৮ নং আসামী; গনপতি হালদার- ১৯৭১ সালের শহীদ। কালে ভাদ্রে আরো অনেক কবি,সাহিত্যিক,রাজনীতিবিদ সাংবাদিক,বৈজ্ঞানিক,অর্থনীতিবিদ,শিক্ষক, ইঞ্জিনিয়ার,খেলোয়ার,নাট্যকার,শিল্পপতি, দেশে-বিদেশে অনেক সুনামের সাথে জীবন জীবিকা নির্বাহ করছেন ।
জলাশয় বলেশ্বরী, কচা ও পোনা নদী উল্লেখযোগ্য।
প্রাচীন নিদর্শনাদি ও প্রত্নসম্পদ সোনাখালী জমিদারবাড়ী ও সাপলেজা কুঠিবাড়ী উল্লেখযোগ্য।
ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনাবলি উপজেলার তুষখালীতে খাজনা বৃদ্ধির প্রতিবাদে ১৮৩০ সাল থেকে ১৮৭০ সাল পর্যন্ত ইজারাদারদের বিরুদ্ধে কৃষক বিদ্রোহ সংগঠিত হয়। ১৯৭১ সালের মে মাসে ঝাটিপুনিয়া নামক স্থানে রাজাকারবাহিনী ১২ জন মুক্তিযোদ্ধাকে হত্যা করে।

শিক্ষার হার, শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান গড় হার ৬২.৮%; পুরুষ ৬২.৮%, মহিলা ৩৭.২%। কলেজ ৫, মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় ৪৭, প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় ১৯৫, স্যাটেলাইট স্কুল ৭, মাদ্রাসা ১৮২। উল্লেখযোগ্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান: মঠবাড়ীয়া সরকারি ডিগ্রি কলেজ, মহিউদ্দীন মহিলা কলেজ, কে.এম লতিফ ইনস্টিটিউশন (১৯২৮), গুলশাখালী জি.কে ইউনিয়ন হাইস্কুল, বড় মাছুয়া ইউনাইটেড হাইস্কুল, নলী ভিম চন্দ্র মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় (১৯২৮)।

স্যানিটেশন ব্যবস্থা এ উপজেলায় ৩৫.৪৮% (গ্রামে ৩১.৯৯% ও শহরে ৬৯%) পরিবার স্বাস্থ্যকর এবং ৫৬.৬০% (গ্রামে ৫৯.৯১% ও শহরে ২৪.৭৫%) পরিবার অস্বাস্থ্যকর ল্যাট্রিন ব্যবহার করে। ৭.৯২% পরিবারের কোনো ল্যাট্রিন সুবিধা নেই।

স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের পর বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জনাব শামসুল আলম তালুকদার ১৯৭৮ সালে একটি গোলপাতার ঘরে অস্থায়ী ভাবে এই কলেজটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। এবং ১৯৭৯ ও ১৯৯১ সালে যশোর বোর্ড ও রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে স্বীকৃতি লাভ করে। পরবর্তীতে বাগেরহাট-৪ আসনের মাননীয় সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য ডাঃ মোঃ মোজাম্মেল হোসেন সরকারিকরণ করেন। এবং কলেজ ক্যাম্পাসটিকে দৃষ্টি-নন্দন অবোকাঠামোতে সাজিয়ে তোলেন কলেজের অধ্যাক্ষ মোঃ নূরুল আলম ফকির।

প্রিয় দর্শকবৃন্দ, এই ভিডিওটিতে আপনারা দেখতে পারবেন বাগেরহাটের শরণখোলা উপজেলা রায়েন্দা ইউনিয়নের কয়েকজন শিশু-কিশোরকে। যারা বাগেরহাট ও পিরোজপুর জেলাকে পৃথককারী নদী 'বলেশ্বর' এর তীরে বেড়ে উঠেছে।
৮ অক্টোবর ২০২০ ও তার পরবর্তীতে কোন একটি কাছাকাছি দিনে শরণখোলায় এসে রায়েন্দা বাজার থেকে নতুন লঞ্চঘাটে ঘুরতে আসি। এখানে ওদের সাথে দেখা হয়ে যায় দুপুরের পরে। মূলত ওদের এই জলকেলি খেলা ও গোসল করার দৃশ্য দেখে এই বিষয়টি খুব ভালো লাগে আমার কাছে। আমার ছোটবেলার কথা মনে পড়ে যায়। ইতিপূর্বে আপনাদেরকে এরকমই একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত ভিডিও শেয়ার করেছি। আজ তার আরও কিছু অংশ দেওয়া হলো।
এই শিশোরদের দেখে আমার মনে পড়ে যায় আমার বেড়ে ওঠার কথা। তিস্তা নদীর তীরে কাশবন, বালুচর আর চাচার সাথে হাঁস শিকার। সানিয়াজান নদীতে লাফ দেয়া, ডিগবাজি ইত্যাদি। দুরন্ত কৈশোর এর ছবির সবই মনে পড়ে যায় আমার। দুরন্ত শিশুর অনবদ্য সেই স্মৃতিগুলো যদি মনে পড়ে আমাকে জানাতে ভুলবেন না।
শরণখোলা বাংলাদেশের দক্ষিণ অঞ্চলের সমুদ্র উপকূলীয় জেলা বাগেরহাটের একটি উপজেলা। এখানে এলে নতুন লঞ্চঘাটে না বেড়ালে (বিশেষত বিকেলে) আপনার বেড়ালো অসমাপ্ত হবে। বেড়াতে গিয়ে আমার কয়েকজন স্থানীয় ছেলেপুলের সাথে পরিচয় হয়। ওদের সাথে মজার ও অসাধারণ কিছু সময় কাটালাম। ওদেরকে দিয়ে কাঁচা টিকটকারদের মত কিছু করতে চেয়েছিলাম। ফেল করলাম কিনা কে জানে? আপনার কি মনে হয়? জানাতে ভুলবেন না।
আরেকটি বিষয় হলো, আপনারা কিন্তু শরণখোলায় এলে সমুদ্রের খুব কাছাকাছি চলে আসবেন! কাজেই হাতে সময় থাকলে, মামা'র এলাকায় ঢুঁ মারতে ভুলবেন না। মামাকে চিনতে পেরেছেন তো? জি, ঠিকই ধরেছেন। আমি রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার মামা'র কথাই বলছি। চাইলেই কিন্তু শরণখোলা থেকে কর্তৃপক্ষের অনুমতি সাপেক্ষে সুন্দরবন ঘুরে আসতে পারেন। আপনাদের স্মৃতির ভিডিও টুকু অথবা ছবি অথবা আপনাদের অভিজ্ঞতা আমাকে জানাতে কমেন্ট সেকশনে লিখতে পারেন।

সুন্দরবনে সূর্যাস্ত ভিডিওটি আমরা করেছিলাম ২০২০ সালের অক্টোবর মাসের ১০ তারিখে। সুন্দরবনে মাছ ধরতে গিয়ে সুন্দরবনে নৌকা ভ্রমন করা ছিলো আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য। শখের বশে মাছ ধরতে গিয়ে ফেরার পথে আমরা সুন্দরবনে সূর্যাস্তের এই অপরূপ দৃশ্য উপভোগ করি।
The video describes the beautiful natural scenery of the Sundarbans of Bangladesh part. It's my second Vlog of Sundarban which was captured from the Sarankhola Range Forest Station of Bagerhat. Sunset scene from a boat amazed us in the evening at the Sundarban. The Sundarban tour was totally awesome and breathtaking. Tour at the Sundarbans, world's largest mangrove forest with a team of fishing fancy people was on October 10, 2020. Fishing at the Sundarbans is allowed in Bangladesh Part with permission from the authority. We went through the Sundarbans. The Sundarbans is in the delta formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal. It spans from the Hooghly River in India's state of West Bengal to the Baleswar River in Bangladesh. It comprises closed and open mangrove forests, agriculturally used land, mudflats and barren land, and is intersected by multiple tidal streams and channels. Four protected areas in the Sundarbans are enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Despite these protections, the Indian Sundarbans were considered endangered in a 2020 assessment under the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems framework. Consistent pattern of depleted biodiversity or loss of species in the 20th century, and that the ecological quality of the forest is declining.
ত্যাড়াব্যাঁকা সুন্দরবনের একটি নদী (Canal)। বাগেরহাটের শরণখোলা উপজেলার মধ্যে ‘শরণখোলা ফরেস্ট রেঞ্জ অফিসের’ পেছন দিয়ে প্রবাহিত নদীটি শরণখোলা দিয়ে সুন্দরবনে ঢোকার প্রবেশপথ। সুন্দরবনের শরণখোলা রেঞ্জ অফিসের পিছনদিয়ে প্রবাহিত ভোলা নদী | এই ভিডিওতে ত্যাড়াব্যাঁকা নদীর চিত্র রয়েছে।
সুন্দরবন পৃথিবীর সর্ববৃহৎ ম্যানোগ্রোভ ফরেস্ট। এটি বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের কিছু অংশ জুড়ে অবস্থিত। রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার (Panthera tigris tigris) পৃথিবীতে শুধুমাত্র এই বনেই পাওয়া যায়। সুন্দরী গাছের (Heritiera fomes) দেখা পাওয়া যায় এখানেই। ধারণা করা হয় এই সুন্দরী গাছের প্রাচূর্য থাকার কারণেই এই বনের নাম “সুন্দরবন”।
সুন্দরবন হলো বঙ্গোপসাগর উপকূলবর্তী অঞ্চলে অবস্থিত একটি প্রশস্ত বনভূমি যা বিশ্বের প্রাকৃতিক বিস্ময়াবলির অন্যতম। গঙ্গা, মেঘনা ও ব্রহ্মপুত্র নদীত্রয়ের অববাহিকার বদ্বীপ এলাকায় অবস্থিত এই অপরূপ বনভূমি বাংলাদেশের খুলনা, সাতক্ষীরা ও বাগেরহাট জেলা এবং ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্যের দুই জেলা উত্তর চব্বিশ পরগনা ও দক্ষিণ চব্বিশ পরগনা জুড়ে বিস্তৃত। সমুদ্র উপকূলবর্তী নোনা পরিবেশের সবচেয়ে বড় ম্যানগ্রোভ বন হিসেবে সুন্দরবন বিশ্বের সর্ববৃহৎ অখণ্ড বনভূমি। ১০,০০০ বর্গ কিলোমিটার জুড়ে গড়ে ওঠা সুন্দরবনের ৬,০১৭ বর্গ কিলোমিটার রয়েছে বাংলাদেশে এবং বাকি অংশ রয়েছে ভারতের মধ্যে।
সুন্দরবন ৬ ডিসেম্বর ১৯৯৭ খ্রিস্টাব্দে ইউনেস্কো বিশ্ব ঐতিহ্যবাহী স্থান হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি লাভ করে। এর বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতীয় অংশ বস্তুত একই নিরবচ্ছিন্ন ভূমিখণ্ডের সন্নিহিত অংশ হলেও ইউনেস্কোর বিশ্ব ঐতিহ্যের তালিকায় ভিন্ন ভিন্ন নামে সূচিবদ্ধ হয়েছে; যথাক্রমে 'সুন্দরবন' ও 'সুন্দরবন জাতীয় উদ্যান' নামে। সুন্দরবনকে জালের মত জড়িয়ে রয়েছে সামুদ্রিক স্রোতধারা, কাদা চর এবং ম্যানগ্রোভ বনভূমির লবণাক্ততাসহ ক্ষুদ্রায়তন দ্বীপমালা। মোট বনভূমির ৩১.১ শতাংশ, অর্থাৎ ১,৮৭৪ বর্গকিলোমিটার জুড়ে রয়েছে নদীনালা, খাঁড়ি, বিল মিলিয়ে জলাকীর্ণ অঞ্চল। বনভূমিটি, স্বনামে বিখ্যাত রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার ছাড়াও নানান ধরনের পাখি, চিত্রা হরিণ, কুমির ও সাপসহ অসংখ্য প্রজাতির প্রাণীর আবাসস্থল হিসেবে পরিচিত। জরিপ মোতাবেক ১০৬ বাঘ ও ১০০০০০ থেকে ১৫০০০০ চিত্রা হরিণ রয়েছে এখন সুন্দরবন এলাকায়।
১৯৯২ সালের ২১ মে সুন্দরবন রামসার স্থান হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি লাভ করে। সুন্দরবনে প্রতি বছর হাজার হাজার পর্যটক ঘুরতে আসে। দেশ-বিদেশের অসংখ্য পর্যটক সুন্দরবনের অপরূপ সৌন্দার্যে মুগ্ধ। সুন্দরবন ভিজিট করার মাধ্যমে তার প্রকৃতি থেকে বিভিন্ন জ্ঞান অর্জন করে।
সুন্দরবন বাংলাদেশের দুটি রামসার সাইটের মধ্যে প্রথম। অপরটি সুনামকগঞ্জের টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওর।
