KOTA BREAKFAST FOOD TOUR I Kachori + Samosa + Ghewar + Doodh Jalebi
Situated along the bank of river Chambal in Rajasthan, Kota is a growing city widely known for its industries and for being the coaching hub of India because of the huge concentration of engineering and medical coaching institutes.
In today's episode we are out on a breakfast tour with our young and dynamic host Saransh from Parindon Ka Safar, a youth centric community involved in travel, culture, heritage and arts based activities. With great enthusiasm we had set out to explore some old and famous places with someone who knows the city very closely. Let's take you through the breakfast scene in the streets of Kota.
Our first stop was Ratan Sweets and Namkeen. It's undoubtedly the most popular namkeen shop whose fans are from far and near. We tried some of their wide range of sev and nylon khaman. Their freshness and well balanced flavours came through well.
The second stop was Lalchand Agarwal Samose Wale. Locals swear by the fresh samosa and kachoris sold over here and one morsel of a hot samosa was enough for us to understand why it's so.
The third stop was Mohan Lal Sev Wale which is reportedly an over 100 years old establishment. We tried some kadke and water chestnut burfi at this nondescript place. Both of them were quite decent in taste.
The fourth stop was Sharda Mishtan Bhandar whose ghewar are much loved by the locals. They have a wide range of ghewar available all throughout the year. We tried the dried one with mawa and to our surprise it was delightful.
The fourth stop was Shambhu Mishtan Bhandar where we polished off a serving of doodh jalebi in a tall steel tumbler. The crisp and luscious crushed jalebis mixed with reduced milk was a brilliant combination.
The fifth stop was Suvalal Namkeen which is again a famous name for kachori and namkeen. The genial owner sweetly asks his customers how many kachoris they would want to have in one go. We found them to be decent ones in terms of taste.
The sixth stop was Agarwal Petha Bhandar. The petha workshop in their shop doles out fresh batches of this ash gourd based sweet daily. We loved the rose flavoured crunchy shahi petha that had just been prepared minutes ago.
The seventh stop was another busy kachori place Shyam Ji Kachoriwale, whose owner is known for being reticent and not very approachable. But his kachori served with chutney and curd are a hot selling thing.
The final stop of this charming food tour was Hari Om chai stall. This old tea stall seems like a slice from the past. The old furniture and ambience will take you back in time.

Shree Vijayadurga temple was built in 1560, is located at Keri in north District of Goa. Keri is about 30 kms from Panaji, the capital of Goa and 10 kms from Ponda (Fonda). It is a finest example of classical architecture. Kavi art form is used in most places. There is a lake in front of the temple, every year during the festival Devi’s idol is taken for procession in two boats tied together called ‘Sangod’.
Shree Vijayadurga is the kuldevi of Brahmans of Goa.
This place is very calm and quite, we felt overwhelmed.

Sangod is a traditional festival that happens once in 3 years at Cumbharjua river on the 5th day of Ganesh festival. Its a unique way of Ganesh visarjan,where canoes are tied together and Ganesh idols are placed in these boats and 5 rounds are taken ,along with this boat there are several canoes or boats that depicts scenes from puranas,with every round that boat takes the scene on the boat will change ,we saw various stories portrayed by enthu artists, there is risk involved in on the boats they have hardly any support to hold on when they perform,but the way they balance is wonderful,there is also another sangod in the same village which happens every year on the 7th. day of Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

चार चौमा का ऐतिहासिक शिव मंदिर वाकई हाड़ौती का एक प्रसिद्ध दर्शनीय स्थल है। पुरातात्विक महत्व के स्थानों से प्यार करने वाले कला प्रेमियों के लिए यह स्थान वाकई अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है।
यहाँ एक अत्यंत प्राचीन शिव मंदिर अवस्थित है। हालांकि मंदिर की स्थापत्य कला अपेक्षाकृत बिल्कुल साधारण है परंतु यही साधारणता इसकी प्राचीनता को इंगित करती है। इसलिए यह अनुमान लगाया जा सकता है कि यह मंदिर काफी प्राचीन है।
यहां शिव भगवान की बहूत ही प्राचीन चार मुख वाली मूर्ति है. तथा चारो मुख उनके अलग अलग रूप को दर्शाते हैं.
यहां महाशिवरात्रि पर मेला भी लगता है जिसे यहां सोरती के नाम से जाना जाता है.
यहां स्नान करने के लिए प्राचीन कुंड भी स्थित है.
यह बहूत ही अच्छा देव स्थान है यहां की महिमा के बारे में आप इस स्थान पर घूमकर जाने. यहां के वातावरण में एक अलग ही शांति है. हर हर महादेव
यह मंदिर कोटा जिले के अंतर्गत आता है
चार चोमा महादेव एक बहुत ही सुंदर रमणीक स्थल है जो पौराणिक महत्व का विषय पुराणों के अनुसार जब विभीषण भगवान शंकर भगवान हनुमान जी को पालकी में लेकर घूमने निकले तब यह थक कर कैथून कस्बे में बैठ गए जिससे उस पालकी की लंबाई की दूरी के अनुसार श्री हनुमान जी रंगबाड़ी कोटा तथा शंकर भगवान चार चोमा में स्थित हो गए यह साक्षात भगवान शंकर का प्रतिरूप है शिवरात्रि के दिन यहां बहुत ही भव्य मेला आयोजित किया जाता है चार चोमा कोटा कचरे से लगभग 30 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है यहां पर अपने आप का एक पौराणिक महत्व भी है चार चोमा शिवालय बहुत ही सुंदर और आकर्षक है
आपको यहाँ एक बार अवश्य जाना चाहिए।

In this pandemic world had learnt one thing, go back to nature. The virus taught us that nature can heal. Corona virus has no vaccine as yet, but nature has a fix. While on our trail to Tambdi Surla waterfall we discovered various sounds, colors and nature's hidden secrets from our guide. While showing us the way to the fall, Mahadev, our guide introduced us to a beautiful world of wild plants and tree. But hold in there, these were not mere plants, they had the healing secrets.
Mahadev gave us many local names of the plants and trees, that had curing and healing properties. Every tree in fact had some traits for cure. In the bargain of growth we have lost some valuable findings of our ancestors. Having said that we still have some knowledge hidden in the villages and household in the entire country , right from kidney stone to the deadly king cobra's bite. Mahadev has shown us the woods that don't only take us to breathtaking waterfalls but also the healing path wrapped with thorns, hives, rocks etc. telling us we as human know so much little about the greatness of mother earth. The information on these medicinal plants which are shared have been gathered from our guide who is a local and often used these plants in the healing process. We are not the experts but nature enthusiasts, so kindly take opinion of the experts
