The Porto Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church located in the historical centre of the city of Porto, Portugal. It is one of the city's oldest monuments and one of the most important local Romanesque monuments.The Porto Cathedral (Sé do Porto in Portuguese) is the most important religious edifice in the city and has been declared a National Monument.
The construction of the Cathedral began during the 12 century, but it was rebuilt and renovated numerous times throughout the centuries. This explains why the Cathedral is a mix of architectural styles. The temple is predominantly Baroque in style, although its façade and the nave are Romanesque and its cloister and one of the chapels are Gothic in style.

PORTO in November - We finally try a Francesinha... and *spoiler alert* it's so delicious we have another one the very next day!
Francesinha (literal translation Little Frenchie) is an incredible sandwich invented in Porto! A Portuguese man had worked in France and Belgium, and on his return home to Porto, he took the Croque Monsieur and added a very distinct Portuguese twist!
Ingredients for this humongous sandwich are:
Two slices of thick white bread
Four types of meat: Steak; Sausage; Chorizo and Ham
Copious amounts of cheese melted over top
... sitting in a deliciously spicy beer and tomato sauce
all topped off by an egg (which our 2nd sandwich had!)
I can so recommend trying this amazing dish if you're a meat eater and are going to visit Porto!
