Il cuore cittadino medievale conserva monumenti di notevole valore storico e artistico, simboli del potere laico e religioso: la duecentesca chiesa di San Francesco, sulla omonima piazza, dedicata al Santo che più volte soggiornò in città; la chiesetta Priorale di San Carlo; la chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, che si presenta con una notevole facciata in stile romanico su cui è incisa la data di costruzione (1199); il palazzo del Capitano del Popolo o palazzo Vecchio, a ridosso del quale sorge la Torre Esperia, con la campana delle adunanze realizzata nel 1318 da Maestro Stefano da Orvieto.

The first mention of San Gemini dates back to 1036 and is reported in the foundation deed of the Abbey of San Nicolò.
In the 7th and 8th centuries the districts of Terni and Narni found themselves disputed between the Lombards and the Byzantines until the territory was affected by the establishment of the Byzantine Corridor, the narrow strip of land that connected Rome to Ravenna along the ancient Roman roads of the Via Flaminia and the Via Amerina.
It was precisely within the Byzantine Corridor that between 817 and 962 the territory of what would later become the free municipality of San Gemini began to be established.
The name we use today dates back to the 9th century, paying homage to the memory of the monk Yemin (Gemino), who came to preach here from distant Syria. So it didn't take long to spread a particular denomination: city of Santo Gemine.

There is one special village in Tuscany, San Gimignano, that has more than a dozen medieval skyscrapers that have been standing there for 700 years. Tall stone towers like this were found in many Tuscan towns during the Middle Ages. But in later times, most of them were torn down, which makes these survivors of San Gimignano so unusual. No doubt this is one of the largest collections of medieval towers in Italy.

Originally, San Gimignano had 72 of these towers back in the Middle Ages, and remarkably, 14 of the towers have survived, which is the main reason why this town is so famous. San Gimignano was preserved in this unique way because for many centuries it was ignored and left alone without any further development, until the 20th century, when its status as a tourist attraction began to be recognized.
These preserved buildings became a bonus for the modern visitor who gets to experience an authentic medieval town. The highest tower reaches 170 feet, and you can pay a small fee to climb all the way up to the top of it, where you get a fabulous view of the old town and a delightful panorama of the Tuscan countryside.

Il Borgo, il centro storico di Monte San Giovanni Campano sorge lungo il digradare di un colle roccioso alto 420 metri ed è formato da un nucleo fortificato, il Castello, e da un abitato che scende verso il basso ad anelli, con case addossate le une alle altre, quasi tutte con pareti esterne provviste di feritoie. Lungo il perimetro dell'abitato vi sono trentasei torrette quadrate e cilindriche, ormai inglobate nelle case perimetrali o sommerse dalla vegetazione.

San Gemini è un piccolo borgo medievale di circa 5000 abitanti che sorge nel cuore delle valli Umbre meridionali, appena sopra la città di Terni.
Famoso in tutto il mondo per le sue particolari acque minerali, nel 2001 è stato classificato Uno dei Borghi più belli d'Italia.
San Gemini può vantare inoltre di innumerevoli opere monumentali storiche, tra cui Il Duomo dedicato a Santo Gemine, l'abbazia di S.Nicolò, Palazzo Pretorio ed altre ancora.
Molto caratteristica è la rievocazione storico-medievale che avviene tutti gli anni nel periodo autunnale, tra la fine di Settembre e l'inizio di Ottobre, in cui tutto il borgo riprende le tradizioni, gli usi e i costumi tipici di quel periodo e viene celebrata una particolare contrada chiamata Giostra Dell'Arme.

San Gemini is a small medieval village of about 5000 inhabitants which rises in the heart of the southern Umbrian valleys, just above the city of Terni.
Famous all over the world for its particular mineral waters, in 2001 it was classified Uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia.
San Gemini can also boast of innumerable historical monumental works, including the Cathedral dedicated to Santo Gemine, the abbey of S. Nicolò, Palazzo Pretorio and others.
Very characteristic is the historical-medieval re-enactment that takes place every year in the autumn period, between the end of September and the beginning of October, in which the whole village resumes the traditions, uses and customs typical of that period and a particular horse racing called Giostra Dell'Arme is celebrated.

Continuano le nostre avventure anche in giro per l'Italia dove questa volta, vi portiamo in Toscana, precisamente in provincia di Siena, nella meravigliosa Bagno Vignoni. Qui dove ci sono circa 30 residenti, c'è questo piccolo borgo dove eravamo stati nel nostro viaggio on the road in Vespa. In realtà non ci siamo dimenticati di pubblicare questo video, ma volevamo realizzare delle riprese aeree con il drone che dessero il giusto risalto alla meraviglia del luogo. Qui troviamo delle terme gratis, come ce ne sono tante in Toscana, ma queste sono meno affollate e blasonate. Eppure qui, dove troviamo un'acqua a 52°, ci sono delle splendide vasche che tanto ricordano Pamukkale e la Cappadocia. Peccato solamente non aver portato il costume in questa occasione.

**Some History**
The town's history stretches back to pre-Roman times, which is testified by its numerous archaeological findings and prehistoric Pelasgic walls.
Its primordial name, Bauco, recalls the ancient agricultural worship of the god Bove, symbol of fertility. In the archaeological area of Monte Fico, where once stood a temple dedicated to this divinity, there have come to light votive statuettes featuring oxen.
Boville Ernica was once situated on the plains below its present site, but after the Saracen and Hungarian invasions (9th–10th centuries), its population moved to the higher levels of Monte Fico, where the ancient center was transformed into one of the most fortified towns in the region.
