山形県の桜名所・巨桜 ベスト14選 ( 山形城・鶴岡公園・置賜さくら回廊 ) / Best 14 Cherry Blossoms Viewing Spots in Yamagata!【日本の桜名所】
山形県が誇る桜名所・巨桜スポットを14ヶ所ご紹介します！
（１）霞城公園（かじょうこうえん）は、山形城の跡地に整備された公園で「日本100名城」に選定されています。東大手門が復元されているほか、石垣や堀もよく残っています。城内から残雪の月山も望め、城内に約1,500本の桜が植えられています。
（２）上山城（かみのやまじょう）は、戦国時代に最上氏と伊達氏の争奪戦の舞台となった城郭で、現在は月岡公園として整備されており、桜名所となっています。城内から残雪の蔵王連峰も望め、天守閣と桜の絶景を満喫できます。
（３）米沢城・松が岬公園（まつがさきこうえん）は、米沢城跡に整備された都市公園で、桜の名所です。特に、樹齢が100年近くになる風格のあるソメイヨシノの並木が外堀を囲んでおり、とても見ごたえがあります。
（４）まほろばの緑道は、廃線となった高畠鉄道の線路跡地を利用して遊歩道・自転車道で、春には「緑道」が「桜道」になります。道の周囲はのどかな田園地帯が広がっており、吾妻連峰や飯豊連峰もよく見えます。
置賜さくら回廊（おきたまさくらかいろう）は、山形県南部の置賜地方に点在する巨桜や桜名所の総称です。今回はその中から8本ご紹介します。
（５）伊佐沢の久保桜（いさざわのくぼざくら）は、樹齢1,200を超えるといわれる巨桜で、国の天然記念物に指定されています。
（６）釜ノ越桜は、樹齢約800年のエドヒガンで、人気が高い桜でしたが、残念ながら近年枯死が確認されました。現在は、子桜の勝弥桜が見られます。
（７）薬師桜は、釜ノ越桜の近くに立つエドヒガンの古木で、樹齢は約1200年です。太い幹が風格を感じさせる名桜です。
（８）十二の桜もエドヒガンで、樹高約16ｍ、幹周囲約６ｍ。今は「3代目」が大木に成長しています
（９）山口奨学桜は、樹齢約100年のソメイヨシノの巨木で、小学校の跡地に立っており、樹高は約15ｍです。
（10）子守堂の桜は、樹齢約1,000年のエドヒガンで、小さな丘からせり出すように立つ姿が印象的です。
（11）赤坂の薬師ザクラは、樹齢約1000年のエドヒガンで、朽ちかけた幹にも風格が漂い、樹齢千年という凄みを感じさせる巨桜です。
（12）双松公園（そうしょうこうえん）は、南陽市近郊の丘陵に整備された都市公園で、眺陽桜など数本の巨大なしだれ桜があります。
（13）鶴岡公園（つるおかこうえん）は、酒井氏が約250年間、庄内藩主として居城とした「鶴ヶ岡城」跡に整備された公園で、桜名所として名高く、「日本さくら名所100選」に選ばれています。
（14）日和山公園（ひよりやまこうえん）は、日本海が見える丘陵地の公園で「都市公園100選」に選ばれています。桜に囲まれて立つ木造の白い灯台が印象的です。

Here are 14 cherry blossom viewing spots and giant cherry blossom spots that Yamagata Prefecture is proud of!
(1) Kajo Park was built on the site of Yamagata Castle and was selected as one of the 100 Great Castles of Japan. From the castle grounds, visitors can see Mt. Gassan with lingering snow, and about 1,500 cherry trees are planted within the castle grounds.
(2) Kaminoyama Castle is now maintained as Tsukioka Park and is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot. The Zao mountain range with lingering snow can be seen from the castle, and visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of the castle tower and cherry blossoms.
(3) Matsugasaki Park is an urban park built on the ruins of Yonezawa Castle and is famous for its cherry blossoms.
(4) Mahoroba Greenway is a promenade and bicycle path using the former site of the abandoned Takahata Railway line, and in spring the greenway becomes a cherry blossom path. The path is surrounded by peaceful countryside, and the Azuma and Iide mountain ranges can be seen clearly.
The Okitama Sakura Corridor is the collective name for the giant cherry trees and cherry blossom viewing spots in the southern part of Yamagata Prefecture.
(5) Isazawa-no-Kubozakura is a giant cherry tree said to be over 1,200 years old and is designated as a national natural monument.
(6) Kamanokoshi Cherry Tree is an 800-year-old Edohigan cherry tree, but unfortunately, it was confirmed to have died in recent years. And its child cherry tree, Katsuya-zakura, can now be seen.
(7) Yakushi Cherry Tree is an old Edohigan tree standing near the Kamanokoshi Cherry Tree, and is about 1,200 years old.
(8) The Twelve Cherry Tree is another Edohigan tree, about 16 m tall with a trunk circumference of about 6 m.
(9) Yamaguchi Scholarship Cherry Tree is a huge Someiyoshino tree, about 100 years old, standing on the site of an elementary school.
(10) The Komorido cherry tree is a 1,000-year-old Edohigan cherry tree that stands impressively as if it were rising from a small hill.
(11) Akasaka Yakushi Zakura is a 1,000-year-old Edohigan cherry tree, and even its decaying trunk has a stately appearance, giving the impression of being a thousand years old.
(12) Sosho Park is an urban park located on a hillside near Nanyo City, and is home to several giant weeping cherry trees, including the Choyo-zakura.
(13) Tsuruoka Park is located on the site of Tsurugaoka Castle. The park is famous for its cherry blossoms and has been selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan.
（14）Hiyoriyama Park is a hilly park with a view of the Sea of Japan and has been selected as one of the 100 best city parks in Japan. The wooden white lighthouse surrounded by cherry blossoms is impressive.

【人生43都道府県目！初の山形県に！庄内北部の都市「酒田市」に】
I arrived in Sakata city in Yamagata prefecture a few hours ago.
This is the first time I have visited Yamagata prefecture and 43rd prefecture in my life. There are total 47 prefectures in Japan and 4 prefecture left. I have traveling in Japan for about 3 months already and will travel for more 2 months. Japan is a beautiful country and there are so many places we should visit. I feel so while traveling in Japan.
本日は、角館の武家屋敷群を楽しんだ後、南下して焼きそばで有名な横手市に。湯沢市にもより、湯沢から内陸の道を通り、山形県入り。13号⇒344号線を通り酒田市に。
山形県は初訪問。人生43都道府県目となる県。全国制覇まで残り4県(新潟、富山、茨城、佐賀）。
山形県での宿泊地は酒田、鶴岡、山形、米沢の4都市。これら都市を拠点に山寺や最上川舟下り、出羽三山、銀山温泉などを訪問。宿泊予定日数は８泊９日。
秋田は4泊5日と他の東北県(岩手県＝9泊10日、青森県＝10泊11日）と比べて短くなりましたが、非常に魅力的な県です。
次回は乳頭温泉に宿泊でいき、秋田料理を再び楽しみます。

It's Mt Yarigatake that is the most fascinating mountain in Japan.
Its name ''Yari'' means spear, and 'Yarigatake'' means mountain like a spear in Japanese. Mt Yarigatake altitude of 3,180m called Japanese Mt Matterhorn is the symbolic mountain in Northern Japan Alps which are part of the Central Japan Mountains National Park. The best season to view Northern Japan Alps is early Oct. in autumn color. Sorry, these pictures were taken in the middle of Sep.
Japanese are fond of an anti real mountain which was reflected on the water surface.
Teng pond in the glacier park where is near Mt Yarigatake is famous as the spot to watch anti-Mt Yarigatake.
Kamikouchi is also in that National Park and nominated as a base to climb up Mt Yarigatake.
In the summer, many people visit there as a cool and beautiful resort.
Please enjoy and simulate climbing up Mt Yarigatake with these pictures.

Sakata (酒田市, Sakata-shi) is a city located in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 October 2015, the city had an estimated population of 106,244 in 39320 households, and a population density of 180 people per km2. The total area of the city is 602.97 square kilometres (232.81 sq mi).
Yamagata Prefecture (山形県, Yamagata-ken) is a prefecture of Japan located in the Tōhoku region of Honshu. Yamagata Prefecture has a population of 1,079,950 (1 June 2019) and has a geographic area of 9,325 km² (3,600 sq mi). Yamagata Prefecture borders Akita Prefecture to the north, Miyagi Prefecture to the east, Fukushima Prefecture to the south, and Niigata Prefecture to the southwest.
Yamagata is the capital and largest city of Yamagata Prefecture, with other major cities including Tsuruoka, Sakata, and Yonezawa. Yamagata Prefecture is located on Japan's western Sea of Japan coast and its borders with neighboring prefectures are formed by various mountain ranges, with 17% of its total land area being designated as Natural Parks. Yamagata Prefecture formed the southern half of the historic Dewa Province with Akita Prefecture and is home to the Three Mountains of Dewa, which includes the Haguro Five-story Pagoda, a recognised National Treasure of Japan.

My name is Mark Kovnatskiy, I'm a violinist from Hamburg, Germany, and this is a series of videos about our (me and my wife, photographer Shendl Copitman) trip to Japan in February 2020.
In this video, we'll visit the Otani Hombyo, walk into Yasaka-dori, take a look at the picturesque Ninenzaki Alley, walk through the Yasaka Pagoda, unexpectedly see two maiko-san at once (rare luck, especially outside the Guyon area), shop at a local kimono store, and also visit one of the main temple complexes of Kyoto, Kiyomizu-dera.
