Our Montreal travel guide! I don't know what I expected from Montreal but it certainly wasn't what I got. What a place. It really feels like Montreal shouldn't exist, it's such a strange confluence of cultures. But I am so glad it does. And I finally got to experience my Montreal food unicorn - poutine. Glorious, wonderful, Montreal poutine. Absolutely worth waiting 43 years for! Montreal, you have my heart...despite the clogged arteries.

Head to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for a look at some of the free current exhibitions. We're here at Park Mount Royal to walk around and head to the lookout point for amazing city views. We chose to stay in the neighborhood of Le Plateau-Mont Royal. On Sunday afternoons you'll find a huge drumming circle on the east end of Mount Royal called Tam Tams. McGill University is one of the most prestigious universities in all of Canada. Poutine, a French Canadian dish, it is basically french fries with gravy and cheese curds on top. For a taste of French charm, wander down the cobbled streets of Old Montreal. Tonight we're at the Cirque du Soleil for a circus performance. The biodome is a popular attraction for families with children. Olympic Stadium is the former home of the Montreal Expos. The botanical gardens are home to beautiful gardens. Bell Center is home to the Montreal Canadiens, one of the most celebrated NHL franchises. There is no better place ot eat smoked meat in Montreal than Schwartz. The Notre Dame Basilica is located in the historic district of Old Montreal. If you enjoy checking out graffiti around Saint Catherine street which is also a shopping district. Eat St. Viateur bagels, which are really famous here in Montreal. A great way to get around the city is by Bixi bike. Montreal's Old Port is worth a wander. CAPE BRETON Travel Guide ???? | Things to do in Cape Breton, NOVA SCOTIA, Canada ????????

Hello and greetings from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where in this travel guide we plan to highlight some of the top things to do for visitors! We recently spent a week road-tripping the island and what an adventure that was! This was our fourth summer exploring Nova Scotia, and this time around we focused on southern Cape Breton, specifically the area between St. Peter’s and Port Hastings. Here is our Cape Breton Travel Guide covering some fascinating things to do in Nova Scotia, Canada.

I think this is a really interesting area to visit because it is very accessible. Port Hastings is the first town you hit if you’re crossing via the Canso Causeway (the only land access point to the island!), so it’s a logical starting point, and it makes a lot of sense for travellers who want to see a bit of Cape Breton without having to drive too far.

We spent our week in southern Cape Breton doing an iconic sail from lake to sea, feasting on seafood at every meal, tackling different hiking trails, and enjoying the warm hospitality the island is known for.

So hit that subscribe button and join us as we explore Cape Breton, Nova Scotia!

Places we visited in southern Cape Breton:

St Peter’s Canal Sailing Tour
The Island Nest
LeNoir Forge
Lennox Passage Provincial Park
The Groundswell Inn
Battery Provincial Park
St Peter’s Coastal Trail
Lockmaster’s Pub
Miller's
Port Hawkesbury Community Trails
The Country Kitchen
Celtic Shores Coastal Trail
Canso Causeway
The Cove
Dundee Resort and Golf Club
MacRae’s Dining Room

What to do in MONTREAL. You NEED to Visit This City! How to Spend a Day Here ????????

Sign up for Skillshare here:

Welcome to Montreal, Quebec! In this week's video we're helping you plan one day (24 hours) in Montreal!

We start things off in the historic Old Montreal. We walk around and explore the old cobblestone streets, the main square (Place Jacques-Cartier) and beautiful buildings. We also head down to the Old Port of Montreal which seems to be somewhat newly developed with a ferris wheel, lots of water activities and vendors. We stop at one food truck called Felix and Norton for a cookie. After this we take a walk by Notre-Dame Basilica (temporarily closed) and grab a coffee at one of our favourite coffee shops called Tommy.

After exploring Old Montreal we head to the downtown Montreal shopping street called Rue Ste-Catherine. We stop in front of a St. James United Church where there is a beach in front of the church along with some lounge chairs.

We then make our way to the base of Mont-Royal where to climb the 400 Peel Street Steps to the top of the hill to take in the incredible view of the city.

We pick things up the next day in the Plateau neighbourhood of Montreal (where we were staying). We walk around Avenue Mont-Royal and grab a breakfast sandwich from St. Viateur Bagels.
