Quebec Vacation Travel Guide, Top 40 best places to visit in Quebec Canada

Quebec is one of the thirteen regions and domains of Canada. It is flanked toward the west by the territory of Ontario and the waterways James Bay and Hudson Bay; toward the north by Hudson Strait and Ungava Bay; toward the east by the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the area of Newfoundland and Labrador; and toward the south by the region of New Brunswick and the US conditions of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. It additionally shares oceanic fringes with Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. Quebec is Canada's biggest region by region and its second-biggest regulatory division; just the domain of Nunavut is bigger. It is verifiably and politically thought to be a piece of Central Canada (with Ontario).

*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don't have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they're especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. Today we are heading to a historic city in Canada, the Québec City. Québec City is located approximately a 3-hour drive north east of Montréal. It is the provincial capital of Québec.
Founded in 1608, the city sits atop a hill on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River. Historically the city was fortified to protect the country from invasions. With its rampart preserved Québec is the only remaining fortified city in North America, north of Mexico. This is one of the gates to the citadel. The most significant landmark of this city is the Fairmont le Château Frontenac luxury hotel. Built in 1893, it has been an icon of the Canadian history and a National Historic Site of Canada. In the district of old Québec with its European flare, charming boutiques on the narrow streets, makes you feel like you are in fairytale. The historic town square still serves the public at Place Royale. Keep your eye out for unusual installations around town like these upside-down cars, or this guy hanging upside down on a fire escape. The best way to enjoy the historic district of old Québec, is by walking there are many stairways and passages connecting upper and lower parts of the city. There is also a funicular that connects to the Dufferin Terrace below the Château Frontenac for only $3 per ride. Not too far from the city only 15km down the river is a beautiful waterfall. To get a different view there are panoramic stairs and also, a funicular that costs $15 roundtrip. You can even walk across the suspension bridge above the waterfall. Also, just another short drive further down the river is the historic shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré at the main entrance this beautiful door is handmade in copper. It is the oldest pilgrimage site in North America. Among the artistic masterpieces of stain-glass windows and mosaics is an exact copy of Michelangelo's La Pietà.

Sainte Anne des Monts in the Gaspé Peninsula

After Tadoussac, head to the south shore and begin your journey across the Gaspé Peninsula, which starts with a ferry ride across the Saint Lawrence River out of Les Escoumins. The ferry ride (which you can reserve online) takes about an hour and a half. After making your way across the Saint Lawrence River, you'll arrive in Trois-Pistoles and embark on your exploration of the Gaspé Peninsula. This Quebec region's geography puts it in close proximity to the Atlantic provinces with which it shares many maritime features, including rugged shorelines, ample fishing, and a laidback, friendly population..
Enjoy the scenic riverside drive on the south shore's Highway 132, stopping for lunch at Reford Gardens, a 1920s property notable for its imaginative landscape design and unique botanical collection, especially given the challenging growing conditions of the area. Elsie and Robert Reford left this place with a remarkable collection of photographs that depict life in the early 20th century, all on display now in the small-but-entrancing gallery..
Continue along the same highway, passing by luscious river vistas and quaint seaside towns, until you reach Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, a three-hour drive from Trois-Pistoles. From here, take Route 299 to Gaspésie National Park, a stunning protected space with many scenic (albeit challenging) hikes. Tourists can camp here or at the Gîte du Mont-Albert, a gloriously situated lodge in the park with chalets, cabins, and lodge guest rooms. There's a good chance you'll catch a glimpse of the local caribou, as a bonus..

Sainte-Anne-des-Monts city and Cévic fish shop (Gaspésie, Quebec, Canada)

A first day of August in 2020, full of fog on the banks of the Saint-Laurent river in the city of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts (Gaspésie, Quebec, Canada). We drove all along the river and stopped at the Cévic fish market. It is a favorite place that we often buy seafood from the Gaspésie : lobsters, salmon, snow crabs, scallops, sea trout, cod, blue mussels, etc. and especially halibut. A sea fish much sought after by connoisseurs, but its price is the most expensive of all marine fish, except the flesh of snow crabs removed from its carcasses (CAD $ 65 per pound; 1 pound = 453.5923g).
I have seen blue lobsters in Exploramer before.
Here are the things to do when you visit this city:

GASPE PENINSULA 1 QUEBEC CITY TO MATINEE AND Sainte Anne des Monts 2003

FROM WHEELCHAIR NOMAD DIARY... CANADA CC 2003 We followed Highway 132, a broad two lane well paved road, with a one hundred-kilometre speed limit and frequent passing lanes, which followed the seacoast. New sections of this road initially bypassed the villages, but further on, the old road passed through the towns with reduced speeds. The landscape was rolling, and wooded, with the sea on the left and mountains, or at least hills to the right. Numerous picturesque small French villages were stretched out for kilometres along the ocean frontage every forty or fifty kilometres. A large stone Roman Catholic Church dominated every village. The influx of tourism was patent with the frequent motels, restaurants, franchise food outlets and souvenir shops along the highway and in the towns. We stopped at Matinee for lunch in Restaurant du Chef at 3.00 pm and I enjoyed crevettes or fresh shrimp on a bed of rice. The waitress spoke no English at all so Allen and I enjoyed using our five years study of high school French. An hours drive took us to Sainte Anne des Monts where we checked in to a motel A La Brunante Inc for $80.00 at 6.00 PM.
