About Montserrat: Montserrat is a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean. It is part of the Leeward Islands, the northern portion of the Lesser Antilles chain of the West Indies. Montserrat is about 16 km (10 mi) long and 11 km (7 mi) wide, with roughly 40 km (25 mi) of coastline. It is nicknamed The Emerald Isle of the Caribbean both for its resemblance to coastal Ireland and for the Irish ancestry of many of its inhabitants. Montserrat is the only non-fully sovereign full member of the Caribbean Community and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. On 18 July 1995, the previously dormant Soufrière Hills volcano, in the southern part of the island, became active. Eruptions destroyed Montserrats Georgian era capital city of Plymouth. Between 1995 and 2000, two-thirds of the islands population was forced to flee, primarily to the United Kingdom, leaving fewer than 1,200 people on the island in 1997 (rising to nearly 5,000 by 2016). The volcanic activity continues, mostly affecting the vicinity of Plymouth... In 2015, it was announced that planning would begin on a new town and port at Little Bay on the northwest coast of the island. While additional plans proceeded, the centre of government and businesses was moved to Brades. After a number of delays, including Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017 and the COVID-19 pandemic beginning in early 2020, in June 2022, ground was broken on the Little Bay Port Development Project, a £28 million project funded by the UK and the Caribbean Development Bank. In mid-January, Peter finally fell asleep with snow, and we were able to show the most beautiful Northern city in the world, wrapped in snow, from the air, in ultra-high resolution 6K. For filming, we used a new Ambassador camera Zenmuse X7 together with a new line of lenses DL, which a month ago we sent DJI for our further creativity. Since youtube does not support 6K resolution, we have increased the image to 8K, in order to unlock the full potential of the image.

За 6 дней в Барселоне изучил каждый камушек в городе. Думаю, что смог составить правильное мнение об столице Каталонии.

Вся нужная информация про Барселону 2020 (поменялась цена билетов, некоторые места и фуникулеры на реставрации).

A Day in Our Life in Montserrat, 24 Jan 2022
Here is another vlog, and my favourite video yet! We had a wonderful first day in Montserrat, exploring the town of Monistrol in the morning, and going on a hike in the afternoon. The mountain is beautiful, and although it is really cold here, it does nothing to dampen our spirit!

My Journey to Montserrat

Montserrat is a mountain near Barcelona, in Catalonia. It is the site of a Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth. Montserrat literally means jagged mountain in Catalan. It describes the peculiar aspect of the rock formation, which is visible from a great distance. The mountain is composed of strikingly pink conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock, popular with climbers.
The video begins as we drive up the mountain to Montserrat. Upon our arrival we were treated with a beautiful concert of the church's bells. During my visit I ride the Sant Joan funicular to the summit for great views of the area.

Montserrat is one incredibly beautiful mountainous Caribbean island, part of the Lesser Antilles chain and a British Overseas Territory. Sadly Its Soufrière Hills volcano first erupted in the 1990s, causing devastation to the southern part of the island which is now an exclusion zone. The north part of the island is largely unaffected, and has unique black sand beaches, coral reefs, breath taking cliffs, shoreline caves and a new city.
Visitors are politely told that Montserrat is not a volcano; it has a volcano and assured that the north part of the Island remains entirely safe, with the Soufrière Hills volcano is under round-the-clock monitoring by a MVO “Montserrat volcano observatory”. As is often the way in the aftermath of disaster, the close-knit community has forged stronger bonds than ever. Crime is a rarity, front doors and vehicles are unlocked, with the PEOPLE making the island magical. For first-time visitors to the Caribbean island of Montserrat, some of the local vocabulary evokes Geology 101. Words like “pyroclastic flow,” “seismic” and “dome collapse” pop up often in conversations with native islanders and longtime residents.
There is much to do in Montserrat other that visiting volcano devastation exclusion zones, there is epic nature hiking trails, black sand beaches, even a nice hike that will take you to the only white sand beach on the island. Монастырь, построенный еще в IX, получил название Монтсеррат, что означает «разрезанные» или «зубчатые горы». Сейчас на территории монастыря живут 80 монахов бенедиктинского ордена . Монастырь в 1025 году основал аббат Олиба Рипольский . Но первые мелкие католические храмы возникли в этих местах еще в IX веке , когда земли эти были отбиты у сарацинов, как тогда называли мусульман . Аббат Олиба принадлежал к числу известных архитекторов того времени и под его руководством строили монастырь. Как архитектор , Олиба ощутимо повлиял на становление искусства архитектуры в Каталонии . В частности, благодаря аббату, в каталонскую архитектуру был привнесен ломбардский стиль . Под руководством аббата Олибы был также реконструирован и расширен монастырь St. Michelle de Cuxa .
Монастырь хранит статую Черной Мадонны, ради которой, главным образом, и стремятся сюда паломники . Легенда гласит , что эту статую вырезал Святой Лука , а затем Святой Петр привез ее в Испанию . В 718 году статую спрятали от сарацинов в горах Монсеррат , после чего следы ее потерялись . А в 890-м году случилось чудо — Черную Мадонну нашли пастухи в пещере , из которой , по их рассказам, струилось загадочное сияние и слышалось пение ангелов . На месте обнаружения статуи была построена часовня , а пещеру с тех пор называют «Santa Cova» .

The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet is a monastery of the Cistercian order founded in 1150 . It is located at the foot of the Prades mountains, in the Conca de Barberà region. Poblet is an impressive architectural ensemble and can be counted among the most important monastic complexes in Europe. It is, in fact, the largest inhabited monastic complex on the European continent. Since the Middle Ages, it has been an important symbolic reference for the countries of the ancient Crown of Aragon.
In 1921, after the visit of King Alfonso XIII, it was declared a National Monument by the Spanish Government. In 1991 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The history of the monastery of Poblet has been closely linked to that of the rest of Catalonia. The Royal Monastery of Poblet was founded on August 18, 1150, when Ramon Berenguer IV, count of Barcelona, after completing the conquest of Lleida to the Saracens, gave the abbey of Fontfreda some lands of the Conca de Barberà, so that they established a Cistercian monastery there.
In 1809 the monastery was sacked by the French and in 1811 confiscated, but in 1813 the monks were able to relocate there.
The main church of Poblet (Santa Maria) and other places of the monastery served as burial places for monarchs, children and other people of the Crown of Aragon, members of other important noble lineages, abbots and monks of the monastery and other prominent people.
