Sa Pa is a small, mountain town in Lao Cai Province. It is one of the best places to visit in Vietnam. It is located about 350km northwest of Hanoi, close to the Chinese border. Home to different ethnic tribal groups, Sa Pa is very well known for its rice patties and mountain treks. My friend and I spent 3 days at Topas Ecolodge. It was such an unique experience that I had to share this.

Sa Dec City - Vietnam Travel Guide | TP Sa Đéc, Đồng Tháp - Thủ Phủ Hoa của Miền Tây [Drone/Flycam]
The drowsy former capital of Dong Thap province, Sa Dec is a comparatively peaceful city of tree-lined streets and fading colonial villas, ringed with orchards and flower markets. Lining the waterways are flower nurseries you can visit, which are especially popular just before Tet for witnessing a riot of blooms loaded onto boats.
The town's biggest attraction (though it'll only take up about 20 minutes of your time) is the Huynh Thuy Le Old House. This fascinating 1895 riverfront residence of Sino-French design was a setting for The Lover by Jean-Jacques Annaud. Other locations seen in the film include Le's grave and pagoda, and the school where Duras' mother taught.

Thành phố Sa Đéc là trung tâm kinh tế, tài chính, giáo dục và văn hóa ở phía nam tỉnh Đồng Tháp.
Sa Đéc trở thành thành phố trực thuộc tỉnh Đồng Tháp vào ngày 14 tháng 10 năm 2013 theo Nghị quyết số 113/NQ-CP. Thành phố Sa Đéc được công nhận là đô thị loại II ngày 10 tháng 2 năm 2018. Vùng đất Sa Đéc xưa có tên Khmer là Phsar Dek, có nghĩa là Chợ Sắt.
Sa Đéc từng là tỉnh lỵ của tỉnh Sa Đéc cũ vào thời Pháp thuộc trước năm 1956 và trong giai đoạn 1966-1975 dưới thời Việt Nam Cộng hòa. Đặc biệt, thị xã Sa Đéc cũ lại giữ vai trò là tỉnh lỵ của tỉnh Đồng Tháp trong suốt giai đoạn 1976-1994, và sau đó theo Nghị định số 36-CP ban hành ngày 29 tháng 4 năm 1994, tỉnh lỵ tỉnh Đồng Tháp lại dời về thị xã Cao Lãnh (ngày nay là thành phố Cao Lãnh) cho đến nay.
Nét quyến rũ của Sa Đéc nằm ở những công trình kiến trúc cổ xưa, những ngôi nhà cổ trong trung tâm thành phố, sự thanh bình của một thành phố nhỏ và tất nhiên là làng hoa Sa Đéc. Hơn nữa, nhà cổ Huỳnh Thủy Lê là một trong những điểm hút khách du lịch của Sa Đéc nằm cạnh dòng Mekong thơ mộng. Sa Đéc vẽ nên vẻ đẹp mà bất cứ du khách nào cũng muốn một lần đến nơi đây.
Được mệnh danh là thủ phủ hoa của miền Tây, làng hoa Sa Đéc có thể xem là bảo tàng hoa với hàng trăm loài hoa đẹp, lạ… nổi tiếng trong nước và quốc tế. Không như hầu hết vùng trồng hoa khác, làng hoa trăm tuổi gây ấn tượng với khách bởi hình ảnh những luống hoa “không chạm đất”. Mùa nước nổi, người nông dân dùng xuồng bơi len lỏi giữa các luống để chăm sóc hoa, tạo ra một hình ảnh đặc trưng kỳ thú của miền sông nước.
Tất nhiên, Sa Đéc không chỉ có hoa. Thành phố còn nổi danh với hàng chục làng nghề như làng bột, làng gạch, làng thuyền, làng quít, làng nem…; chợ đêm Nguyễn Huệ nhộn nhịp dọc bờ sông cùng nhiều điểm đến độc đáo như nhà cổ Huỳnh Thủy Lê, chùa Kiến An Cung được công nhận di tích VH – LS cấp quốc gia.
Trong vòng bán kính chừng 40 km, Sa Đéc là trung tâm kết nối với nhiều tuyến điểm tham quan lừng danh của Đồng Tháp như Xẻo Quýt, Gáo Giồng, Tam Nông, Gò Tháp, lăng cụ Phó bảng Nguyễn Sinh Sắc…
