सूरत गुजरात प्रान्त का एक प्रमुख शहर है। यह शहर सूरत जिले का प्रशासनिक मुख्यालय भी है। तापी नदी सूरत शहर के मध्य से होकर गुजरती है। सूरत मुख्यत: कपड़ा उद्योग और डायमंड कटिंग और पोलिशिंग के लिए प्रसिद्ध है, इसलिए इस शहर को सिल्क सिटी और डायमंड सिटी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
ऐसा समझा जाता है कि आधुनिक सूरत शहर की स्थापना पंद्रहवी सदी के अंतिम वर्षों में हुई। कहा जाता है कि 1516 में एक हिन्दू ब्राह्मण गोपी ने इसे बसाया था। 12वीं से 15वीं शताब्दी तक यह शहर मुस्लिम शासकों, पुर्तग़ालियों, मुग़लों और मराठों के आक्रमणों का शिकार हुआ। 1514 में पुर्तग़ाली यात्री दुआरते बारबोसा ने सूरत का वर्णन एक महत्त्वपूर्ण बंदरगाह के रूप में किया था। 18वीं शताब्दी में धीरे-धीरे सूरत का पतन होने लगा था। उस समय अंग्रेज़ और डच, दोनों ने सूरत पर नियंत्रण का दावा किया, लेकिन 1800 में अंग्रेज़ों का इस पर अधिकार हो गया।
Surat is a port city situated on the banks of the Tapi river. Damming of the Tapi caused the original port facilities to close; the nearest port is now in the Magadalla and Hazira area of Surat Metropolitan Region. It has a famous beach called 'Dumas Beach' located in Hazira. The city is located at 21°10′N 72°50′E.[32] It has an average elevation of 13 metres. The Surat district is surrounded by the Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, to the west is the Gulf of Cambay and the surrounding districts. The climate is tropical and monsoon rainfall is abundant (about 2,500 mm a year). According to the Bureau of Indian Standards, the town falls under seismic zone-III, in a scale of I to V (in order of increasing vulnerability to earthquakes).

Saputara is only hill station of Gujarat state of India. I believe it is only hill station but it has much more things to server visitors than other hill stations in India. Saputara hill station situated in Dang district, South Gujarat, on border of Maharastra state. It is almost 410 kms far from Ahmedabad.
Now, let me describe about our journey. We five friends Me, Ramesh, Dinesh, Raghav and Jitu started this trip from Ahmedabad at mid night of 20th September 2019. It took almost 6 hours to reach Sapurata via Baroda, Surat, Navsari, Waghai. We planned this trip for two days and it became one of most memorable trip for life.

Surat is a large city beside the Tapi River in the west Indian state of Gujarat. Once known for silk weaving, Surat remains a commercial center for textiles, and the New Textile Market area is lined with fabric shops. Overlooking the river, Surat Castle was built in the 1500s to defend the city against Portuguese colonists. Nearby, the Dutch,Armenian and English cemeteries contain elaborate colonial-era tombs.

1. Dumas Beach :
Dumas beach is a very popular destination situated at a distance of 18 kms from Surat city. Travelers recommend this destination for its calming effect and picturesque scenery.
2 . Science Centre :
Set amidst the bustling city of Surat, a rapidly developing economy, the Science Centre does a great deal in glorifying the explosive growth of the city. From housing thematic galleries that display a wide range of touching various factions of the world- Space, Cosmos, Polar, Textile, Diamond, etc. to a state of the art 3D amphitheatre that practically teleports you to a different dimension, the Science Centre of Surat has it all. 5. Jagdish Chandra Bose Aquarium :
Visiting Jagdishchandra Bose Aquarium, the first multidisciplinary aquarium of India, is truly an awe-striking experience. The biggest attraction here is the remarkable jelly fish pool, an outstanding double storeyed shark tank and an amazing dolphin tunnel.

Also called the ¥Old Fort', this opulent monument sits on the banks of the Tapi River and is an example of exemplarily sturdy architecture.

One of the most popular attractions of South Gujarat, the Tithal Beach is the go-to destination for many when in need of a revitalising break. Breaking the flow of the white washed waves, the Tithal beach glimmers like a gold necklace that decorates the azure neck of the Arabian Sea.
