Am fost cazati in Sapanta, am vizitat Cimitirul vesel din Sapanta, Manastirea din Sapanta, Cascada Sapanta, Biserica de lemn de la Plopis, Biserica de lemn de la Budesti, Manastirea Budesti, Biserica de lemn de la Surdesti, Manastirea Barsana si am petrecut o zi in Viseu pe Valea Vaserului in Mocanita.

Maramures - traditions and folklore
Located in the heart of Europe, Maramures is a land of wooden churches, legendary treasures, breathtaking landscapes and ancient traditions. In Maramures remained intact the culture and traditional peasant life of the past. The History of Maramures is transmitted through the wooden churches. UNESCO has included eight of these churches monuments of world cultural heritage.
Day 1: Arrival in Bucuresti

Day 2 : Departure to Cluj-Napoca

Breakfast. Mocanita boarding - a small train pulled by steam locomotive - for a superb ride on Vaser Valley. On the way, stop for lunch picnic. Continue journey by coach to visit Salistea de Sus where can be visited the wooden church (1736) and then to Botiza. Dinner and accommodation
Day 5 : Departure to Poienile Izei -- Ieud -- Botiza
Breakfast. Visit the wooden church Botiza (1796), Budesti Josani (1643) - included on the UNESCO list, Izei Meadows (1632) - included on the UNESCO list. Lunch at Botiza. Then visit wooden churches Lleud Hill - included on the UNESCO list, leud Ses and Bogdan Voda. Return to Botiza. Dinner and accommodation
Day 6: Departure to Rozavlea -- Barsana -- Vadul Izei

The whole trip lasted two weeks: we left Bucharest to Hunedoara by crossing the Transalpina road, then we reached Cheile Râmețului, Cheile Turzii, we visited Peștera Scărișoara (Scărișoara cave), Peștera Urșilor (Bears cave) and Cimitirul Vesel (The merry cemetery) in Săpânța, we headed to Borsec and then back to Bucharest through Moldova.
We chosed to sleep in the tend and there was nothing to complain about it but for those of you who are addicted to the confort, there are many pensions where you can stop for the night. The places are not over crowded (thanks God!!!) and many of the people we meet were foreign tourists. The locals are nice and it was always a pleasure to socialize with them (but you'll need at least some English basics).
You'll notice that sometimes our itinerary seems to be a little confusing (for e.g. from Alba County to Cluj County and back to Alba County). We choose to travel by car and even though we pointed some close destinations, sometimes the mountain roads are pushing you to do some nasty detours to reach it all. But the places we saw and the people we meet were really awesome so in the end it really worthed.

A Mocăniță Romanian pronunciation: is a narrow-gauge railway in Romania, most notably in Maramureș, Transylvania, and Bukovina. Archetypically, they are situated in mountainous areas and the locomotives operating on them (which themselves can also be referred to as mocănițăs) are steam-powered. These railways were built for cargo and passenger services – some in the era of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, before 1918 – but fell into disrepair over the years. The most well-known mocăniță runs in the Vaser Valley in Maramureș County. This railway was constructed in the period 1933-1935 and uses a gauge of 760 mm (2 ft 5+15⁄16 in). It was partially destroyed by German troops during World War II, but was rebuilt again. It has primarily been used for logging, and is still used for this purpose, but in 2004 work began on rehabilitating it as a tourist attraction. A Swiss enthusiast who came to Romania in 1987 helped this greatly by starting an organisation for saving the railway: Hilfe für die Wassertalbahn in Rumänien.
Several steam engines are used: 764-211 (Măriuța) was built in Berlin by Orenstein & Koppel in 1910; 763-193 (Krauss) was also built in Germany, in 1921; and there are five Romanian locomotives built at Reșița between 1953 and 1955. Diesel engines (built in 1960s-1970s) and other vehicles such as converted minivans also run on the lines. The latter are used by border police, rangers, and others for getting quickly up the mountains.
The tracks run from Vișeu de Sus, from a yard on Strada A. I. Cuza, 1.5 km (0.93 mi) north from the town centre. The main line is 43 km (27 mi) long, from Vișeu de Sus to Comanu, near the Ukrainian (former Polish) border, though the service may terminate before then at Faina. This trip usually takes between 3 and 4 hours each way.
There are two other branches: along the Novăț Valley (13 km (8.1 mi)) and towards Stevioara (3 km (1.9 mi)). The train can occasionally come off the rails, but at a speed of 10 km/h (6.2 mph) this poses no danger, and experienced passengers help to get the train back on the rails! The Vaser Valley is an exceptionally scenic location, the habitat of many bears and deer, along with many cattle and sheep. The line is run by a private company, Căile Ferate Forestiere (CFF). As well as regular services, trains can be charted by tourists; special services are also run, for instance on New Year's Eve.
From Covasna to Comandău in Covasna County. Regular journeys last occurred here in 1999, but an association was formed in 2002 to save the train and a number of trips have since been made.
From Crișcior to Brad in Hunedoara County. The line is currently classed as a historical heritage line and used for tourism on holidays.
Other lines have been suggested as candidates for conversion into mocăniță tourist attractions, and some activity has been attempted on some of these though the situation may not be stable. These include the lines Târgu Mureș to Band, Dornești to Nisipitu, and Moldovița, though some of these lines may run on standard-gauge track.
The word mocăniță is a term of endearment, derived from the Romanian word mocan, meaning shepherd or one who lives in the mountains, and suffixed as feminine and diminutive in keeping with the tradition of naming conveyances and indicating small size. It's also been suggested that it means coffee machine, as one of the little locomotives is reminiscent of one of these in action. source Wikipedia

CONOCE LO INCREIBLE DE MARAMURES- RUMANIA????????????
Maramures es una región situada en el noroeste de Rumanía, pegada a la frontera con Ucrania, donde todavía se conservan tradiciones con siglos de antigüedad. En sus valles cubiertos de frondosos bosques y verdes praderas hay numerosas poblaciones con elementos arquitectónicos únicos, como sus famosas Iglesias de Madera o las Puertas Maramuresanas. Además no es extraño ver talleres de artesanía, carretas de caballos y campesinos trabajando con rudimentarias guadañas. Y sus habitantes aprovechan cualquier celebración para vestirse con la misma ropa que utilizaban sus antepasados.

In 2014 we took a 10 motorbike day trip around Romania. We had so much fun that we wanted to share our adventure with the world.

Mocanita = locomotiva cu abur care circula pe cai ferate cu ecartament mic
Am inceput cu Mocanita din Viseul de Sus si dupa aprox. 2,3 ore am ajuns in statia Paltin (km21). Aici coboară toți turiștii, trenul continuă traseul, care are în total 62 km, traversează 3 tuneluri și ajunge la granița cu Ucraina.
Momentan nu este amenajat pentru turism.
În poiana Paltinului, turiștii beneficiază de un mini restaurant, toalete și pot participa la un program artistic prezentat de un grup de dans din zonă.
Mocanita = steam locomotive running on small gauge railways
I started with Mocanita from Viseul de Sus and after approx. 2.3 hours we arrived at Paltin station (km21). Here all tourists get off, the train continues the route, which has a total of 62 km, crosses 3 tunnels and reaches the border with Ukraine.
At the moment it is not arranged for tourism.

Frumuseţi şi unicate maramureşene la Exclusiv în România
Cristian Tabără vă invită la o plimbare cu celebra Mocăniţă sâmbătă, 25 mai, de la ora 18.00, la TVR 1, TVR HD sau online, pe TVR+.
Săptămâna aceasta, echipa Exclusiv în România ajunge în Maramureş, la Vişeu de Sus, un orăşel cu aproape 17.000 de locuitori, situat la 125 de km de Baia Mare. Telespectatorii TVR 1 şi TVR HD, precum şi cei care urmăresc emisiunea prezentată de Cristian Tabără online, pe TVR+, vor avea şansa de a vedea alte obiective turistice pe care românii le cunosc prea puţin, deşi străinii ne invidiază pentru ele.
De departe, atracţia zonei o reprezintă celebra Mocăniţă, în care turiştii pot călători pe Valea Vaserului. Mocăniţa de la Vişeu de Sus este singurul tren forestier cu abur din lume care mai circulă pe ecartament îngust, fiind unicat mondial şi monument istoric. Chiar dacă scopul mocăniţelor este de a aduce din munţii Maramureşului lemn pentru fabrica de cherestea, turiştii sunt şi ei oricând bineveniţi la o plimbare.
