TRANSALPINA Pass - 67c Road / Romania - TransALP 650 - S1. Eps.10
We start our second day with riding our Transalp 650 on the Transalpina Pass, the 67c Road - S1. Eps.10
We woke up very early, at 6 o'clock. We wanted to have enough time all day on the route. The GPS gave us about 8 hours of travel, plus stops, breaks, eating, etc. are much more. Before we start the day i refueled, after 285 km, I put 14.3L, 65 lei. (13,5 Euro)
We went to Săliște and took to Jina, a very nice route. Then we took it to Obârșia Lotrului, mostly the road is recently re-asphalted. Some sections are being paved. From Obârșia Lotrului to Rânca... for me, Transalpina means these 30km... Even if the total length of Transalpina is almost 150km, from Sebeș to Novaci.
We decided to film, photograph, take short breaks until Rânca. And from Rânca to return to Obârșia Lotrului, this time without stopping, filming, etc. This is to be able to fully enjoy the road, the landscape, the serpentines...
We took it to Valea Oltului through Voineasa - Brezoi. We also took a break at Voineasa, Hotel Zan, where we ate a very good Beef Soup. (Two soups + a Pepsi = 30 lei = 6 Euro)
We arrived in Brezoi, from here on the Olt Valley to Sibiu. They worked in 2 places, they poured asphalt... It was very crowded. We are going 60-80km / h in the happy case.
At 5 PM we arrived in Sibiu. At 7 PM we left to eat, at the same place as the day before. Garden Restaurant Sibiu, be very close to Pension Simar, we can go for a walk. We ate a pizza 22 lei and pasta 26 lei + a Pepsi 7 lei = total 55 lei. (11 Euro)

Transalpina is known as the highest road in Romania, connecting Transilvania and Muntenia regions.
With a length of 148 km, Transalpina road, has the highest point in the Urdele Pass at 2145 m. Transalpina is one of the most important tourist road in Romania, next to Transfăgărăşan. The road is also known as the King's Road, because it was built at the request of King Carol II in 1939. The landscapes that can be seen on Transalpina are spectacular. The road is open from June until October so if you plan to see it make shore it is opened.
