Places to see in ( Ingolstadt - Germany )

Ingolstadt is a city in Bavaria, Germany, known for the Audi Forum and its museum of classic cars. Kreuztor, a 14th-century gate and the city emblem, is the entrance to the medieval old town. The 1723 Anatomical Institute has a botanical garden with medicinal plants. Asam Church Maria de Victoria is known for its baroque ceiling. The New Castle is home to the Bavarian Army Museum’s military history displays.

A youthful university city on the Danube in the heart of Bavaria, Ingolstadt is the headquarters of the car manufacturer Audi. You can return to the very origins of the brand at the Museum Mobile, and follow all stages of the high-tech production process on a factory tour.

South of the factory is an old town of gabled merchants’ houses, neatly preserved and encircled by a Neoclassical system of fortifications from the 19th century. Now the old redoubt, tower and cavalier are museums, while the city they protected has haunting Gothic and Medieval churches and civic buildings that go all the way back to the 13th and 14th centuries.

One of Germany’s leading carmakers of Audi Forum has an big visitor complex next to its factory to the north of Ingolstadt. In a stylish steel and glass building completed in 2000 is a museum documenting the history of the brand, and the companies like Wanderer, DKW and Horch that would eventually merge with Audi.Register in advance and you’ll be treated to a privileged look at the work that goes into each Audi.

The celebrated Late Baroque architects the Asam brothers designed this beautiful church in the 1730s. One of the things that strikes you about the Church of Our Lady is that its two western towers have two different heights. The park is named after Leo von Klenze, who designed the defences, including Reduit Tilly (redoubt) and Turm Triva (tower), which now host a branch of the Bavarian Army Museum and the Police Museum respectively.

Bavaria’s army museum is almost 140 years old, making it Germany’s oldest military museum, and moved to Ingolstadt from Munich in 1972. The main collection is in the Neues Schloss on the left bank on the Danube, while the First World War exhibition is in Reduit Tilly in the Klenzepark. Dating to 1385, Kreuztor is one of two of Ingolstadt’s four city gates still standing from the second Medieval ring of fortifications.

A department of the army museum, the police exhibition is in the Klenzepark’s Triva Tower and assembled objects going back to the Bavarian Revolution of 1918-19. Some of the engaging themes covered by the museum include the stormy days following the First World War, border security during the Cold War and the famed protests that took place in the 1980s against the construction of a nuclear reprocessing plant in Wackersdorf.

Ingolstadt’s old town hall is a compound of four different houses going back to the 1300s. Ingolstadt’s municipal museum is in Kavalier Hepp, a cavalier from the city’s Neoclassical fort, raised at the start of the 1840s. Behind the Altes Rathaus is the oldest building in Ingolstadt, going back to 1234. The Moritzirche also has traces of an even older building from the 800s when the city was founded.

The only specialised museum of its kind in the country is in the 18th-century anatomical theatre building established to train medical students at the University of Ingolstadt. The oldest secular building in Ingolstadt is the whitewashed Gothic castle built in 1255 for Louis II, Duke of Bavaria.

Places to see in ( Mannheim - Germany ) Mannheimer Wasserturm

The Mannheim Water Tower is a well-known landmark of Mannheim . The water tower was built from 1886 to 1889 on today's Friedrichsplatz according to the plans of Gustav Halmhuber . The tower is 60 meters high and has a diameter of 19 meters. It was the first urban water tower in Mannheim and initially had to fulfill all the functions of drinking water supply , including the maintenance of a constant water pressure. After the construction of the higher water tower Luzenberg 1909 he served until the year 2000 as a reserve high tank .

Since Mannheim is located in the Rhine plain, the groundwater is not very deep below the earth's surface and therefore often of inferior quality. Therefore, suggested during the reign of Elector Carl Ludwig (1680), the tradesman Helfer Geil, mountain water of Rohrbach (now a district of Heidelberg ) to Mannheim to direct. Until the 19th century into the water needs of the electoral court was covered by the Upper and Lower Fuerstenbrunnen at Heidelberg Castle .

In 1882, the Austrian engineer Oskar Smrekercommitted to building the Mannheim water supply. He reported in 1884 to the Mannheim City Council a report in which he stated that the groundwater flow in the Käfertal Forest could supply enough good drinking and service water. He set the daily water consumption at 100 liters per person. A high tank should be placed in front of the Heidelberg Gate and compensate for pressure fluctuations, because there are no natural heights in the Mannheim area. The cost of the plant he estimated at two million marks, of which 244,000 marks for the high reservoir. The choice of location did not fall by any chance on the spot in front of the Heidelberg Gate, because there were already planning for an expansion of the city since 1872 in progress.

With the construction, the up-and-coming city wanted to set an example technically and in terms of urban planning. The design should be extraordinary, impressive and timeless. Roman monumental style and Neo-Baroque elements formed the foundations of architecture and are today part of the largest coherent structure of German Art Nouveau. The sculptor Ernst Westphal created the sandstone figures on the tower. On the conical, divided into partial copper roof is a 3.50 m high, designed by Johannes Hoffart and executed in copper sheet statue of Amphitrite, the wife of the sea god Poseidon from Greek mythology . The small pool is made up of several figures ofMermaids and tritons decorated in bronze. Stone centaurs adorn the large pool of water. In the dark, the complex offers an extremely atmospheric picture due to the lighting of the tower and the water features (also colorfully illuminated on weekends and public holidays).

The Friedrichsplatz, on which the tower stands, is surrounded by the rose garden , the Kunsthalle and some semicircular arcaded buildings . The complex is a popular meeting place in the summertime. In winter there is also a Christmas market every year.
The system around the water tower was designed in the years 1899 to 1903 to plans by the Berlin architect Bruno Schmitz as a semi-circular park.

GERMANY: Black Forest, sights & scenery 4K

The Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald) is a large forested mountain range in south-west Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, bounded by the Rhine valley to the west and south and close to the borders with France and Switzerland. It is the source of the Danube and Neckar rivers. Historically, the area was known for forestry and the mining of ore deposits, but tourism has now become the primary industry.

The Hexenloch Mill (German: Hexenlochmühle), formerly the Dreistegen Mill (Dreistegenmühle), lies in the ravine-like Hexenloch in the Black Forest in Germany between St. Märgen and Furtwangen in the parish of Furtwangen-Neukirch. It was built in 1825 and has been in the same family since 1839. It is the only mill in the Black Forest with two water wheels. The mill houses a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and shops that offer Black Forest specialties and souvenirs.

Stöcklewaldturm, a observation tower in Black Forest, was built in 1894 on the Stöcklewald hill (1068 m above sea level) near Furtwangen-Rohrbach. The viewing platform at a height of 25m offers a beautiful all-round view over the central Black Forest to the Feldberg, and on nice days to the Swiss Alps.

The Triberg Waterfalls are located near Triberg in Baden-Württemberg. With a descent of 163 m, it is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany and a landmark in the Black Forest region.

Sankt Georgen im Schwarzwald is a town in Southwestern Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a popular destination for a holiday in the Black Forest.

Villingen (-Schwenningen) lies on the eastern edge of the Black Forest about 700 m (2,300 ft) above sea level. As part of the Baden-Württemberg territorial reform of 1972, Villingen and Schwenningen were merged with a number of surrounding villages to form the city of Villingen-Schwenningen. Nevertheless, the two halves of the city are separated by a plateau and remain distinct. Villingen is a former part of Baden, while Schwenningen is a former part of Württemberg.

The Brend observation tower (German: Brendturm) in Furtwangen was built in 1905 on the Brend hill (1149 m above sea level) near Furtwangen. The tower is round and made of granite blocks, and approximately 17 meter high.

St. Martin’s Chapel (German: Martinskapelle) stands at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level (NHN) at the upper end of the Katzensteig valley on the territory of Furtwangen just above the hydrological source of the river Danube.

The river Danube (German: Donau) is conventionally taken to be formed by the confluence of the two streams Brigach and Breg just east of Donaueschingen. The source of the Donaubach, which flows into the Danube, in Donaueschingen is often referred to as the source of the Danube (Donauquelle). Hydrologically, the source of the Danube is the source of the Breg as the larger of the two formative streams (with its spring at a higher altitude and - at the confluence - not only being 5 km longer but also having a higher amount of water discharge) which rises near Furtwangen.

CUCKOO CLOCKS

It is thought that much of its development and evolution was made in the Black Forest, the region where the cuckoo clock was popularized and from where it was exported to the rest of the world, becoming world-famous from the mid-1850s on.

The German Clock Road (German: Deutsche Uhrenstraße) or German Clock Route is a holiday route that runs from the Central Black Forest through the Southern Black Forest to the Baar region and thus links the centres of Black Forest clock manufacturing. It is about 320 kilometres long.

Hornberg (-Niederwasser): opened in 1977, the Hornberger Uhrenspiele (giant cuckoo clock) in 1995.

Schonach: FIRST world largest cuckoo clock, completed in 1980.

Triberg: new 'House of 1000 Clocks' opened in 1984, the Tribear giant clockwork in 2006.

| Germany tourist attractions | Hamburg , Barmbek Groovt - 3 |

In this video, we're going to take a look at Hamburg's street music scene - specifically, Barmbek Groovt. Barmbek Groovt is a small but lively square in the center of Hamburg that's home to a variety of street performers, from international folk music to modern pop.

If you're interested in exploring Hamburg's street music scene, this is the video for you! In this video, we'll take a look at some of the most popular performers and hear some of their best songs. From traditional French folk music to modern pop, Barmbek Groovt has something for everyone!
A musical event in one of Hamburg's neighborhoods.

Caroline Lacaze grew up with French chanson and pop - she also lived for some time as a singer in a dance band - and has always been on the lookout for new and newly discovered old sounds, preferably in her mother tongue.

From the great classics to unjustly forgotten obscurities, from chanson to electro, jazz, psychedelic, to nouvelle scène and back to chanson - if it's good, every song has its own special story and meaning, whether childhood memories, home in exile or Inspiration for your own composition.

Caroline comes from Angers/France and has been living in Hamburg since 2011 as a singer in various formations, with the Mighty Mocambos or with her street music trio Etonnez-Moi Benoit. Her first album is En Route released in April 2013.
