The WORST Place to Live in the UK? | BRADFORD

Is this the worst place to live in the UK? In today's tour, we visit Bradford. Bradford was named the 10th worst place to live in England in 2022. My intention isn't to offend anyone who is living in Bradford, I wanted to see for myself why this city is considered to be one of the worst places to live in England and form my own opinion.

5 Most HATED Cities in England

For anybody who has lived in a third-world country, any city in England is never bad. On the other hand, people in the developed world are not taken by the razzmatazz associated with the cities in England as portrayed in movies and glossies. But the English are extremely emotional about those cities. Some of them are madly in love with some of those cities, while others have a deep hatred for other cities. Let’s now take you through the 5 most hated cities in England.
Please, let’s get it right; we’re not talking about the worst cities; that can be conjectural. We’re referring to cities people in England hated the most. Follow along as we present the 5 most hated cities in England.

5. Birmingham
Birmingham the home Brummies is our starting point. This is a major city and metropolitan borough located in the West Midlands. It’s in the larger West Midlands region. Birmingham, one of the UK’s major cities, actually the largest and most populated metropolitan borough, is about 100 miles from London. It’s the commercial, cultural, financial, and social center of the Midlands. It stands as the “Core City” enclosed in the second-largest metropolitan center and third-largest urban center in the UK. But it’s also one of the most hated cities in England.
This is understandable given a new study that found that Birmingham has a very bad quality of life. For instance, the earnings are generally lower than the national average and many more people living in this city are likely to be unemployed. The city has pretty chronic cases of homelessness. The city council is constantly broke. The public transport system is expensive and it’s far cry from satisfactory. The practice of knocking down old buildings to build modern ones common in Birmingham is architecturally uninteresting. It even makes the city lack that feeling of English heritage that you get somewhere else in England.
However, Birmingham deserves some respect. Have you ever wondered why it is often called the “second city of the United Kingdom”? We think people in England don’t just like the city and so they fail to see the glory of the city’s two soccer teams. There’s plenty of green space in this city with its canals. They have some other great stuff there; it’s just that they’re not being celebrated.

4. Stoke on Trent
The next of the 5 most hated cities in England is Stoke-on-Trent, often abbreviated to Stoke. The government of Stoke, a city and unitary authority area in Staffordshire, has not been doing enough to change the public perception of their city which has an area of 36 square miles. This largest settlement in Staffordshire, surrounded by the Newcastle-under-Lyme, Alsager, Kidsgrove, Biddulph, and Stone towns forming a conurbation around the city, has a lot of work to do to bring back its lost glory.
A recent poll suggests that external perceptions of those potteries which are a pride of Stoke are still largely negative. A survey of 18 cities including the 13 shortlisted for the C4 hubs asking how many would be willing to move to any of those cities in order to keep their jobs portrayed Stoke in a bad light.

16 Amazing things to do in Halifax UK

Read more about Halifax and its history

Halifax

Halifax is a small but very impressive town in UK. Halifax is associated with the largest woolen industry and the famous Quality Street Toffees manufactured by Mackintosh chocolate confectionary. Mackintosh has created a lot of variety in chocolates and toffees and is now owned by Nestle. The town was once the biggest producer of woolen products and had a huge textile market and one of the largest textile factories in the world.

Halifax also became home to a Minster, when an honorable title was given in 2009 to the amazing Halifax church. Halifax Bank was founded in Halifax and its headquarter is still located in the town.

It is hard to find the early settlement evidences about Halifax in prehistory. The Halifax Minster dates back to the 12th century which shows that the town was an important religious center during that era. Halifax was also known for beheading criminals by a Gibbet till 1650. The replica for the Gibbet is installed on the original site. During 19th Century, the town became very famous because of its woolen, textiles and carpet industry.

Due to limited space, please read more details on the following website

Boutique Stay in Bath | The Queensberry Hotel

Instagram: @amyenvoyage
TikTok: @amyenvoyage

My stay at The Queensberry Hotel
When: December 2021

This historic hotel offers unparalleled views of Brunel’s Grade One listed Clifton Suspension Bridge, said to be one of the worlds greatest bridges.
I absolutely love finding a hotel that really has a bit of individual and unique character to it, and the Queensberry Hotel is oozing with character. The style of both the communal areas and bedrooms is somewhat eclectic, vibrant, and full of unique style that sets this hotel apart from so many of its counterparts. The dinning room, which boasts some incredible menus, is a sophisticated, contemporary space.
If you are looking for somewhere that offers you all the amenities you want from your hotel, with a touch of uniqueness then this may very well be the place for you.

Places to see in ( Brighouse - UK )

Places to see in ( Brighouse - UK )

Brighouse is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, in West Yorkshire, England. Historically within the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated on the River Calder, 4 miles east of Halifax. Brighouse is served by Junction 25 of the M62 motorway and Brighouse railway station on the Caldervale Line and Huddersfield Line. In the town centre is a mooring basin on the Calder and Hebble Navigation.

The name Brighouse (or Bridge House) originates from a building on (or close to) the bridge over the River Calder. In its early history, it was a hamlet of the nearby village of Rastrick. Brighouse is twinned with Lüdenscheid in Germany, the link beginning with an exchange by Brighouse Children's Theatre in 1950 followed by a civic twinning charter in 1960.

The Halifax and Huddersfield Turnpike Act of 1823 allowed for the building of Calder Bridge, or Brighouse Bridge, over the river on what was to become the A641 road; tolls were abolished on the bridge in 1875 and extensive widening work was undertaken in 1905 and 1999 (both of these latter dates being commemorated in dedication stones on the bridge).

Brighouse is situated between Halifax, Ripponden and Brighouse (entailing Elland, Stainland, Holywell Green and Greetland). The town's mills are currently undergoing an extensive programme of renovation, becoming loft style apartments. Brighouse Library is a large building and in addition to its normal lending library services provides facilities for language courses; internet access and fax facilities. Like most public buildings wheelchair access is provided. There is also a small cafe and a lift for access to all floors.

The main shopping streets are Commercial Street and Bethel Street. Shops include Wilko, Boyes, Czerwik (a specialist cheese and wine shop), Lords PhotoDigital, Harrison Lord Gallery & Studio, Domino's Pizza, Just Books, Design 55, Superdrug, Boots, Hallmarks, Thorntons, M&Co and Jack Fulton. Additionally there is a Sainsbury's. In early 2000, a financial agreement made between Tesco and Brighouse Sports Club, allowed for a huge new Tesco superstore to be built on the site of the former club, and the old Tesco became Wilkos. The deal also enabled the sports club to build new premises almost a mile away (1.5 km) on land at Russell Way, Bailiff Bridge.

The A641 northward links Brighouse with Bradford and southward with Huddersfield. The A644 runs eastward out of Brighouse to Junction 25 of the M62 and Dewsbury. In the opposite direction, the A644 leaves Brighouse to the north-west towards Hipperholme, where it crosses the A58 Leeds-Halifax road, and continues through Queensbury to meet the A629 for Keighley. The A643 and A6025 provide less important local links, although the A643 is an alternative route through to Leeds. A bypass, originally called Elland Road, then renamed Lüdenscheid Link in the 1980s, after Brighouse's twin town in Germany, was constructed in the 1970s to clear heavy traffic from the narrow streets in the town centre.

Brighouse railway station reopened in 2000 and provides the town with access to the National Rail network. All services are sponsored by Metro and provided by Northern. The current service is part of both the Huddersfield Line and the Caldervale Line, with services on the Huddersfield Line between Leeds and Manchester Victoria and services on the Caldervale Line between Leeds and Wakefield Westgate via Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield. Direct services to London Kings Cross are also available, with four services per day provided by Grand Central.

( Brighouse - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Brighouse . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Brighouse - UK
