Waar kan je fietsen als een trein?
Gistel biedt ruimte voor rust, heerlijke fietsen en historische sites. Je kan je inleven in het molenaarsleven op de Oostmolensite, de geschiedenis van de heilige Godelieve ontdekken in Abdij Ten Putte en fietsen langs een oude spoorlijn. World Model Expo 2022 in Veldhoven
Mit zwei Jahren Verzögerung konnte im Juli 2022 endlich die World Model Expo in Veldhoven, in der Nähe von Eindhoven in den Niederlanden, stattfinden! Dieses Modellbau-Fest wollte ich mir natürlich nicht entgehen lassen, auch wenn die Anreise recht weit war.
Was soll ich sagen, der weite Weg hat sich definitiv gelohnt, selbst für einen einfachen Besucher wie mich! Die Veranstaltung hat definitiv die Bezeichnung World Model Expo verdient, was man dort sah hatte unstrittig Weltniveau.
Anders als man es vielleicht sonst gewohnt ist lag das Augenmerk klar auf dem hochkarätigen Wettbewerb, der mit fast 6000 (!) Beiträgen bis zum Bersten gefüllt war. Hier gaben sich in vielen Kategorien die Meister ihres Fachs die Ehre und als Besucher kam man aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus. Auffällig stark vertreten war hier vor allem der Dioramen- und Figurenbereich, Flugzeuge, Schiffe und Automodelle gab es dagegen viel weniger zu sehen.
Auch der große Verkaufsbereich hatte es in sich, hier war alles geboten, was das Modellbauerherz begehrt. Es waren auch einige bekannte Marken und Hersteller vor Ort, was zu einem direkten Austausch mit den Entscheidungsträgern dieser Unternehmen einlud und für mich sehr interessant war.
Ausdrücklich bedanken möchte ich mich bei allen Zuschauern und Fans, die mich dort angesprochen haben. Es ist immer eine Freude euch zu treffen!
Die Photos der Modelle in diesem Video stammen zum Großteil aus dem Wettbewerb und zeigen maximal 10% der dort ausgestellten Werke. Es war schlichtweg unmöglich alles zu dokumentieren, ich habe mich daher auf einige Modelle beschränkt, die mir aus diversen Gründen ins Auge gestochen sind.

With a delay of two years the World Model Expo could finally take place in July 2022 in Veldhoven, nearby Eindhoven in the Netherlands! I simply had to be at this scale modelling festival, even though the travel there was far.
What can i say, the far journey there absolutely payed off, even for a simple visitor like myself! The show definately deserved the name World Model Expo, what i saw there was nothing less than the world´s finest scale models.
In contrast to other shows one might be used to the emphasis was clearly on the high level competition, which was filled with the incredible amount of almost 6000 (!) entries. The grand masters of this profession took part in it and the audience was amazed by their works. It was striking to see that many dioramas and figures in particular, aircraft, ships and car models were actually few in numbers.
The big vendor area was also something to behold, one could find pretty much everything there. There were also a couple of well known brands and manufacturers present, which was a good opportunity to talk to the decision makers of those companies, i found this very interesting.
I would like to thank all my viewers and fans, who walked up to me and revealed themselves. It is always a great pleasure to meet you guys!
The photos of the models in this video mostly came from the competition area and show maybe 10% of the work on display. It was simply not possible to document it all, so i decided to focus on a few models, which caught my eyes for various reasons.

Heist-op-den-Berg es una ciudad en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica, situada sobre una colina que ya se encontraba poblada en la prehistoria. Itegem fue probablemente la primera aldea que se fundó aquí, alrededor del año 976, pasando a llamarse Heist-op-den-Berg recién en el siglo XII. Durante la mayor parte de la Edad Media la agricultura fue la base de la economía de la ciudad y como dato historico más reciente podemos mencionar que la ciudad también fue duramente golpeada por las dos guerras mundiales. Actualmente cuenta con un hermoso centro, ideal para los amantes de las compras ya que posee una agradable combinación de boutiques locales y cadenas internacionales. Además, cuenta con muchos espacios verdes, como bosques y valles, con hermosas bicisendas que recomendamos recorrer sin lugar a dudas.
En este video los invitamos a pasear con nosotros, a pie y en bicicleta, por esta hermosa ciudad. Además, visitaremos un hermoso molino de viento, el Kaassttrooimolen, para finalmente terminar nuestro paseo en el castillo Hof Ter Laken. Que lo disfruten!

#World Bike Road Championship Crossing Over Our City Mechelen 2800 # Belgium
In the year after corona epedemic 2021, the battle for the rainbow jersey will be held in the heart of Europe, in the land of Diamond, beer and chocolate, the region that lives and breathes cycling and where art cities will be transformed into the epicenters of a gigantic cycling festival.
Every year, the Flemish cycling season reaches its annual peak in spring, but in 2021 this will be followed by an extra big cycling party in the autumn with the 2021 UCI Road World Championships Flanders, Belgium. The peloton will descend on the cycling region par excellence for the 100th anniversary of the UCI Road World Championships between 18 and 26 September.
There are no fewer than 11 rainbow/Belgian jerseys up for grabs for the riders and teams participating. The battle for the world titles will be spread over different locations in Flanders. The course for the time trials will be mapped out between Knokke-Heist and Bruges. The road races will take place between Antwerp and Leuven.
It was crossed over some other cities as well, MECHELEN one of them where I Live.

My Mini Euro Trip 2017; Brasschaat, Belgium
A travel vlog I made to capture the memories on my little summer getaway! In this Part 1 of my travel Vlog, I am departing from Kuala Lumpur to Paris Charles De Gaulle airport. Upon arrival, I took a train to Antwerp which passed through the beautiful countryside. Last but not least I then took a few trams and a bus to get to the quaint town of Brasschaat! The video contents are the bits and pieces of the town and some Belgian food! Towards the end, I am preparing to travel off to my next destination so in the meantime, enjoy and stay tuned! :)

We are DNF, geocachers and vanlifers!
We - GeoKars and GEOrgCACHING - were both geocachers travelling a lot with out motorhomes to (mega) geocaching events in Europe. That's how we met and became friends. It took us about half a year to become lovers and another half year to sell one of our RV's. Good example of your best friends are other geocachers, don't you think?
And of course we also needed a geocaching nickname together. So our mutual avatar was born: DNF. Why DNF? GEOrgCACHING is from Germany and GeoKars is from The Netherlands. For us DNF does not mean Did Not Find (the geocache), but Deutsch Niederländische Freundschaft which means German Dutch Friendship.
