Jammalamadugu Sri Gurappa Swamy
Sri Gurappa Swamy Kona is situated at Milavaram Mandal, Jammalamadugu Taluk, Jammalamadugu, Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh 516439, India. We need to travel 15kms from Jammalamadugu to reach Sri Gurappa Swamy Kona. On the way, we can have a beautiful view of Mylavaram Dam. One can enjoy beautiful water falls beside the temple. The deity, Sri Gurappa Swamy is regarded as Home God for many people. Devotees prepare prasadam (Sweet rice) individually and offer to the God. Rooms are also available for the devotees for night halt and for resting. The back side of the temple we can have a view of Turakala Lake. There is another temple of Goddess, Sri Gangamma Thalli. We can find shops opened on Mondays only. Monday is the best time to visit this temple. People believe that Monday is the only special day for the Lord, Sri Gurappa Swamy. We can find many people flocking this temple from far away places on Mondays only. But, other day Pooja is offered and we can find few people casually visiting.There is a playing park for children. Please, do visit this wonderful temple.

Proddatur is a city in the YSR Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh. It is the second largest city in Kadapa District after Kadapa City. It is based on the banks of the Penna River. The city is a municipality, and also the mandal headquarters of Proddatur mandal. It is the smallest municipal body by area, but its urban agglomeration is 14th in the state in terms of population and contains 41 wards. And The old name of proddatur is Bradhanpuri. The Proddatur has Some famous places which is Rameswaram temple, Cine hub etc. and it is near to kundu river. And it is developing as a city. Proddatur is well known for its gold and cotton industries, and hence is called the Second Bombay. It is also referred to as the ‘City of Gold' because of the large-scale gold business that takes place here. Once in stop by local sweet shop and try the special ‘Tangedu Palle’, a famous sweet of Proddatur made of special ghee.

This is the Rayalaseema Part -3 Video in this video, I visited the Madhavaraya temple and then moved from Gandikota to Jammalamadugu by
hitchhikking. Once i rached the Jammalamadugu, I decided to visit the Myalavaram Dam which is 8 KM's from there. I took share Auto and reached there. Mylavaram dam looks very nice. Ther is no Police security at teh Dam. Very few peopel are there at teh Dam.Please watch this video and share your comments. Thank you!

There are many caves and water bodies in surrounding hills of Jammalamadugu. One such place is Chandrayudu Kona. This is popular among local people for spending time with Chicken parties.
Here we can find cave and inside that many rocks are worshipped as Chennakesava Swami or Chandrayudu. There is a flowing water in-front of this cave temple which merges with Pennar river near Gandikota Dam.

Chintakunta Rock Art site | చింటకుంట రాతి చిత్రాల తావు | 2nd largest Rock-art Site in India
Chintakunta rock art site near Muddanur ( Kadapa ) is said to be 2nd largest rock art site in India after MP's Bhimbekta, but still not many people know about this place. Scholars from different universities visit this place but government didn't take any measures to improve facilities at this place.
This rock art site contain paintings from people 8000BC - 1500BC and Irwin New Mayor of Austria said only at Chintakunta we can find various stylistic images.
Recently geologists found that rocks of this place can be used in mirrors industry. Contractors took lease of this place for mining the rock which might cause severe damage to these rocks containing paintings.
Government should take measures like road or walkway to reach this place, identify the correct rocks, let people know the importance this place in cultural manner.
We can see some of the rocks are used for support of building which is used for cattle. It caused severe damage to the paintings. There are paintings on 15 of the rocks on this hill, but not many people know which ones containing rocks.
People named it based on images they contain like eddula aavula gundu ( ox - cow rock ), chinna chavidi gundu, mabbu gundu, godugu gundu etc..
Let's make government to preserve this important rock art site.

This temple is located on the banks of river Pinakini, in Proddatur town, YSR Kadapa dt.It is believed that Sree Rama while returning from Lanka wished to penance for killing Ravana, a brahmin.Here on this bank of river Pinakini He wanted to do Shiva pooja and asked Hanuma to bring Shiva ling from Kasi. As Hanuma did not turn up in time, Rama made a Shiva ling with the sand found in the river, and performed pooja. From that day the Shiv ling is called Rama lingeswar.After that Hanuma came with Shivling from Kasi. To please him, that Shivlingam was also erected near the Shivling made of sand by Rama . Hence this place is also called second Rameswaram.
