Kranj - European Destination of Excellence 2023
Kranj was named European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) 2023 by the European Commission. As the winning destination, Kranj will be presented in the Europe as a pioneer of sustainable tourism, committed to the objectives of the European Green Deal. Kranj will also participate in creating sustainable tourism guidelines for the future, both within the European tourism industry and on the international level.
European Destinations of Excellence is an initiative of the European Union, implemented by the European Commission. Its main purpose is to recognise and reward smaller destinations for their successful green transition practices and strategies to promote sustainable tourism. The focus of EDEN is on promoting sustainable tourism development in destinations, as these practices bring added value to the economy, the planet and people.

HOW TO GET FROM LJUBLJANA TO LAKE BLED / SLOVENIAN TRAIN TRIP REPORT
Hello and welcome to another in my 'How to...' series of videos.
This video will show you how to travel by train from Ljubljana main station to Lesce-Bled on the East shore of the fantastic Lake Bled. There is at least an hourly service using Slovenske železnice's local service with their Class 312 Siemens Desiro EMU's and a shuttle bus from the station. Enjoy this video which takes you to this magical lake!

Rdeci Revirji Festival 2022 | Hrastnik, Slovenia ????⚒️????????
The traditional Rdeci Revirji festival turned 20 years old this year and here is a recap of the moments we had the pleasure to witness and take part in.
Branko Potočan, artistic and idea director of the festival, says: “The Red Districts Festival is my pride. During my creative career as a dancer and choreographer, I learned a lot and met and collaborated with domestic and foreign artists in various fields of performing arts (dance, theater, circus, clown cabaret, street theater, street interventions, street interventions, fire performances, puppet shows, and more). I felt the need and the mission to offer my place a part of this world.
When we plowed the furrow twenty years ago, it was difficult, we established cooperation with local partners and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, local communities, and sponsors, year after year built the importance and visibility of the festival.
Art and culture connect people, so after 10 years we expanded the festival in the neighboring municipalities of Trbovlje and Zagorje and it became Zasavski.
Today, the Red Districts are recognizable in Zasavje and beyond, in addition to Slovenian and foreign artists are coming, local groups and individuals are also participating en masse. The purpose of the festival remains the cooperation and connection of people, to offer them new experiences and insights, insight into artistic creations, and socializing with artists from near and far. We will continue to persevere, increase the visibility and importance in the region with quality, build an audience and invite others who want to experience culture in Zasavje. ”

Camping Prodnik - Savinja Valley
Camping Prodnik is a new campsite in the Savinja Valley in Slovenia. It is a small campsite located in the more well-known Prodnik Sports Centre and Guesthouse, where rooms are also available. The campsite is 10 km from Mozirje and 4 km from Ljubno ob Savinji.
The campsite Prodnik is located next to the guest house, 50 metres from the Savinja River, where there are 12 pitches for caravans and motorhomes and 20 pitches for tents. All pitches have electricity and water.
The new campsite includes a modern sanitary facility, which is heated and adapted for disabled people. There is also a modern caravan storage area.
Dogs are also welcome and have their own shower, but can also bathe in the Savinja River.
Camping Prodnik location is interesting for enjoying the riverside, where you can also go swimming in the summer months, and they also offer rafting, kayaking and canoeing on the Savinja. The campsite also offers bicycle rental. The Savinja River also offers an excellent fishing experience.
From the campsite, there are numerous hiking and cycling trails through the local mountains, you can hike to the Golte Mountains or take a trip to the Logarska dolina and the Rinka Waterfall, or to Mozirje, where you can also visit the Mozirski gaj park. We also recommend a visit to the Snow Cave, which is the highest tourist cave in Slovenia, cycling along the Solčava Panoramic Road, the ethno village of Luce and the Flosar Museum in Ljubno.
The campsite also includes the Prodnik guest house, where there are 16 rooms for two people with the possibility of arranging extra beds, a meeting room, a sauna and a fitness centre. There is also a beach volleyball court.
The guest house pampers guests with local delicacies, from rich breakfasts to tasty lunches and dinners. Plates include Savinja stomach, strudels, various soups, steaks and grilled fish and squid. Vegetarian dishes are also on the menu. There is also a wine cellar.
