At the end of the 19th century, the region was the land of Firmo Mendes de Queiroz, a descendant of São Paulo bandeirantes, who donated two pieces of land for the construction of a chapel in honor of Saint John the Baptist. In 1896, 1,500 Ukrainian families were attracted to the region, totaling eight thousand immigrants. The settlers were settled in different settlements, where they became small farmers, livestock farmers and industrialists. The municipality was formed in 1906, under the name Prudentópolis in honor of President Prudente de Morais. Immigration of Ukrainians to the region lasted until the mid-1920s and, currently, the municipality is considered the most Ukrainian in Brazil, with 80% of the population descending from immigrants.
The region where these Ukrainians came from is Galicina/Galicia, which was once autonomous and also belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Poland and Ukraine itself. The new geography, which places the territory predominantly in present-day Ukraine, was designed after the end of the First World War. The Poles from Prudentópolis, and the few Germans (Austrians) come from Galicia. This region was also populated by Jews, Poles, Germans and Austrians. Its capital is Lemberg (in German), also called Львів/Lviv (Ukrainian) or Lwów (Polish). Prudentópolis has a town called Nova Galícia, exactly in honor of this origin.
Prudentópolis is considered sister cities of UkraineTernopil, Ukraine.
Culture
The city has a characteristic architecture, with several buildings that refer to Slavic culture. On October 5, 2021, the city council unanimously approved Project Law no. 024/2021, which makes the Ukrainian language official in the municipality.

It is located in the Vale do Paraíba Paulista , east of the state capital . It is the seat of the Metropolitan Region of Vale do Paraíba and the North Coast and occupies an area of 1,099.409km², of which 353.9 km² are in the urban perimeter . In 2021, its population was estimated by the IBGE at 737,310 inhabitants, [ 1 ] being the fifth most populous in São Paulo and the23rd in the whole country , in addition to being the second most populous municipality in the interior of Brazil, second only to Campinas . The municipality is integrated — together with the metropolitan regions of São Paulo , Campinas , Sorocaba and Baixada Santista — to the Expanded Metropolitan Complex , a megalopolis that exceeds thirty million inhabitants (about 75% of the population of São Paulo) and which is the first urban agglomeration of the type in the southern hemisphere . 2000 Brazilie South Amerika part 1
In the last two weeks of september I travelled to Brazil. Took a organised bustour that started in Sao Paulo, after that we travelled to the border with Argentina and Paruquay to visit the beautiful waterfalls of Iguazu de Foz. Breathtaking beautiful.. On we went to Dourados and Miranda de Pantanal. By now we started travelling back to the coast and passed Presidente Prudente and Tabatinga. We followed the coastline to Rio de Janeiro. One of my wishes was to stand on the big Christ statue and I did. I enjoyed Copacabana before I went home.

This is film of the beautiful intererior of Sao Sebastiao Catedral (Saint Sebastion Cathedral) in downtown Presidente Prudente, Sao Paulo State, Brazil. The building had been painted about 8 years prior to this film being made, and it is amazingly colorful. The atmosphere in the cathedral wasn't as quiet as it normally would be since some work was being done inside on the day I filmed this, but it is usually a very tranquil place. Enjoy this beautiful building!

Pessoal ganhamos a hospedagem totalmente gratuita do Clube Candeias, tínhamos varias opções para escolher em uma lista.
Viajamos com o meu carro Chevrolet Onix 1.4 LT AT 2018 o qual fiz o teste de consumo durante a viagem, ele fez média de consumo no etanol de 11.6 km/L andando no limite da rodovia com controle de velocidade ativado porém utilizando o cambio automático na opção manual. E na Gasolina ele fez média de 14.6 km/L.
Saímos de Presidente Prudente-SP na madrugada de Segunda-Feira dia 07/05/2018, paramos em Curitiba-PR de manhã para conhecer o Jardim Botânico e tomar café-da-manhã e seguimos direto até Balneário Camboriú-SC Total 830 KM percorridos.
Descansamos 1hr depois fomos até o molhe da barra sul em seguida fomos jantar no Lagostão Restaurante Av. Atlântica, 1897.
Terça-Feira 08/05/2018 conhecemos tds praias de Balneário Camboriú pela Rodovia InterPraias, Almoçamos no Restaurante Estaleirinho que fica na praia do Estaleirinho e decidimos ir até Bombinhas-SC em busca do Sol.Supeerrrrrr Recomendo vcs conhecerem a Praia da Sepultura, água cristalina, é possível observar toda vida marinha, ideal para mergulho de snorkel.
Conhecemos também a Praia de Mariscal uma praia excelente para crianças e famílias, mar super calmo.
Voltamos para Balneário e fomos jantar no Rancho do Renato, melhor lugar para comer buffet a vontade de frutos do mar em Balneário Camboriú, preço acessível.Fica localizado na Rua Dom Daniel, 29, Vila Real.

e no programamos para passar o dia inteiro na praia das laranjeiras, Almoçamos no Restaurante Porto Camarões localizado na praia.A noite fomos conhecer o Cristo Luz e também experimentar o famoso lanche Madero no shopping Balneário,já que na nossa cidade não tem Madero ainda...

Ipanema (Portuguese pronunciation: [ipaˈnẽmɐ]) is a neighbourhood located in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), between Leblon and Arpoador. The beach at Ipanema became known internationally with the popularity of the bossa nova jazz song, The Girl from Ipanema (Garota de Ipanema), written by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes.
Ipanema is adjacent to Copacabana and Leblon Beach, but it is distinct from its neighbour. It is relatively easy to navigate because the streets are aligned in a grid. Ipanema's beach culture includes surfers and sun bathers who gather daily at the beach. Every Sunday, the roadway closest to the beach is closed to motor vehicles allowing local residents and tourists to ride bikes, roller skate, skateboard, and walk along the ocean. Ipanema is one of Rio's most expensive districts to live in; private investment has led to the building of world-class restaurants, shops, and cafés.
Ipanema has played a cultural role in Rio de Janeiro since the city's beginning, with its own universities, art galleries, and theaters. It holds a street parade, the Banda de Ipanema, during Carnival festivities separate from those of Rio de Janeiro, attracting up to 50,000 people to the streets of Ipanema.
The beach at Ipanema is known for its elegant development and its social life. Two mountains called the Dois Irmãos (Two Brothers) rise at the western end of the beach, which is divided into segments delineated by postos, or lifeguard towers. Beer is sold everywhere, along with the traditional cachaça. There are always circles of people playing football, volleyball, and footvolley, a locally invented sport that is a combination of volleyball and football.
In the winter the surf can reach three metres (nine feet). The water quality varies from clear light-blue water to a more murky green after heavy rains. Constant swells help keep the water clean, and the often treacherous beach break regularly forms surfable barrels. Just west of this colorful section, towards Leblon, Rio de Janeiro, is another popular stretch of sand known as Posto 10, referring to the #10 lifeguard station.
The beach is one of many areas that suffers from the city's poor waste treatment. In its waters, fecal coliform bacteria sometimes spike at 16 times the Brazilian government's 'satisfactory' level.[4] Large amounts of pollutants are still dumped into the sea through the nearby marine outfall pipe, a matter of increasing concern to ecologists.[5]
Beachgoers often applaud the sunset in the summer.[6] In 2008, the Travel Channel listed Ipanema Beach as the sexiest beach in the world
