Join us as we visit Lisbon, Portugal in this travel guide covering all of the top things to do in Lisbon. Lisbon was the final stop of our European tour and we couldn't have chosen a better destination. The city immediately won us over with it's cheery pastel buildings, delicious fresh seafood, and it's unique mix of attractions. It also didn't hurt that we had clear blue skies the whole week we were there! The following video will highlight 20 things to do in Lisbon and we hope it will give you a few ideas of some of the sights this beautiful city has to offer.

20 things to do in Lisbon, Portugal | Top Attractions Travel Guide:
Our first stop of the day was Sao Jorge Castle, which is an old Moorish fortification that sits on a hill overlooking Lisbon and the Tagus River. You can get some nice panoramic views of the city from here, and they also have peacocks roaming the grounds.
Miradouro das Portas do Sol is one of the many look out points in Lisbon that offers postcard-perfect views of the city. This particular terrace overlooks the Alfama district and it is always popular with tourists.
Carmo is a mediaeval convent that was ruined during the 1755 earthquake, and today it is used as an archaeological museum. It's a strange feeling walking down the ruined nave of the church and seeing blue skies above your head, but that's exactly what makes it worth a visit.
Another place to visit is Belem Tower. The tower was built on the banks of the Tagus River, and it was meant to act as both a defense system and a ceremonial gateway into Lisbon.
The Jeronimos Monastery is one of the most visited sights in Lisbon. It's one of the best examples of Late Gothic Manueline architecture, so have a close look at the intricate detailing when you visit.
A fun way to get around Lisbon's hilly streets is by riding the trams. There are different lines across the city, but #28 is the most popular one with visitors.
The Santa Justa lift is an elevator that connects the lower streets of Baixa with Carmo Square, and it is the only remaining vertical elevator in Lisbon. Though it is meant to serve a functional role, it is also quite popular with visitors who find the elevator a novel idea.

O Barco para Gorée (Casa dos Escravos) - Senegal ????????
Ilha de Gorée, provavelmente o lugar mais turístico de Dakar, em tempos a capital do Senegal.
Começamos então esta jornada, apanhando o unico meio de transporte possivel para lá chegar, um barco.
Foi possivel notar que diariamente a ilha recebe milhares de turistas locais e internacionais.
Após uma viagem que demora aproximadamente 15 minutos, eis que chegamos á ilha patrimonio da humanidade pela Unesco.
A ilha é habitada por 1800 habitantes porém a maioria das pessoas que se enontra na ilha fazem a viagem diariamente , os comerciantes e os visitantes.
Após conhecer um pouco dos negocios locais, e dar uma volta a ilha, percebe-se que se preserva os traços arquitectónicos coloniais. Sendo que a sua atracão principal é a Casa dos Escravos, a ilha de Goré é conhecida por ser o centro de trafico de escravos de toda a costa Africana. A casa dos escravos é o lugar onde o tráfico acontecia.

Anybody visiting Dubrovnik should be sure to explore every nook of the city’s world-famous walls and old town. Since Game of Thrones showcased the city’s fabulous architecture visitors have flocked to Dubrovnik to see “King’s Landing”, “Qarth” and the gardens of the “Red Keep” in real life. You can walk along the top of the city’s walls and climb the perimeter towers, or duck down the evocative streets of the old town to check out the churches, monasteries and curious monuments of the old town, each with a compelling story to tell.

Let’s see ten things to do in Dubrovnik.
Marvel The City Walls.
Dubrovnik’s imperious walls are one of the things that qualified the city for UNESCO listing and if you watch Game of Thrones you’ll recognise several locations.
Stroll Around The Infamous Old Town.
At times the twisting streets of Dubrovnik’s old town will feel like a movie set, and you’ll find you can work up a big appetite if you let your curiosity guide you down all the little alleyways here.
Ride the cable car.
Undoubtedly the best view of Dubrovnik can be had from the crest of Mount Srd, which looms 412 metres above the city a short way inland. In 1969 they built a cable car serving the summit, operating until midnight during the peak summer months.
Visit Dubrovnik Cathedral.
The city’s cathedral is one of Dubrovnik’s large ensembles of baroque architecture. Among the many reasons to pay this seat of the diocese, a visit is to see the interior’s artworks.
Explore Lovrijenac Fort.
Guarding a tall spur 40 metres above the sea is one of Dubrovnik’s picture-book defensive installations. Lovrijenac earned its place in the city’s folklore during the long period of tussles with the Venetians.
See St. John Fortress.
Part of the city walls, St John Fortress is on the southeastern side of the defences protecting Dubrovnik’s port. For hundreds of years, Dubrovnik was vulnerable to pirate raids, so they came up with a smart deterrent. When the warning was sent out they’d lift a heavy metal chain that ran from this fortress to the Kase Jetty in the port to damage ships. If you pop inside the tower you can visit a small aquarium on the first floor and then head upstairs to browse the maritime museum.
Be amazed of Lokrum Island.
You can catch a ferry from the port to this island opposite Dubrovnik throughout the day. It will take ten minutes to get there and it’s a swift way to escape the crowds and take a breather. The island is covered almost entirely with a deep green pine forest that you can amble through via walking trails. These walking routes also lead to the coast, where you’ll come across rocky coves with waters ideal for swimming and even families of peacocks brought to the island by Maximilian, the 19th-century Austrian Archduke.
Check out Trsteno Arboretum.
This lovely park on a hillside next to the sea is from the 1400s, making it one of the region’s oldest arboretums. Dubrovnik’s role as a centre of trade furnished the arboretum with tree species from around the world. Take the imperious pair of oriental plane trees here, half a millennium old and unique within Europe. The arboretum is part of an estate from the same period and is a memorable place for a walk thanks to its sculptures and fountains, and the aqueduct designed to irrigate the park. This was also the shooting location for the Red Keep gardens for (you guessed it!) Game of Thrones in the third and fourth seasons.
The Beaches.
Few of the beaches on this sweep of the Adriatic are sandy; their attraction lies in the aquamarine waters that lap the shore and the pine forest or historic architecture that form the backdrop. Lapad beach is one of more tourist-friendly places to unwind by the Adriatic sea. There’s a pedestrian zone just behind the beach with bars and restaurants, while this gently arcing bay has a moderately wide beach with white pebbles. Further around the bay, you can also enter the sea for a swim from the rocks.

Lokrum island is just the tip of the iceberg, as a whole world of islands awaits you off the coast of Dubrovnik, starting with the pristine nature reserves of the Elaphite archipelago. A bunch of charter agencies are located at the marina should you want to hire a motor boat for the day or weight anchor on a serious sailing trip. For something closer, you could take a sea kayak tour to see Dubrovnik’s walls and towers in a different way.

Os marinheiros da praia de Angra ????????
Eu e o já bem conhecido Rodi, embarcamos literalmente numa aventura pelos mares em descoberta da deserta praia de Angra.
Logo após dobrar as montanhas da carismático aldeia piscatória Ribeira da Barca em direcção a norte, heis que a paisagem maritima mostra toda a sua beleza.
Desembarcamos em Angra e trilhamos a pé o caminho de regresso pelas montanhas.

Normandia 6 - La puntata più bella di un Meraviglioso Viaggio in Camper

Questo è il video che conclude la serie del videodiario della nostra vacanza in Normandia in camper ad agosto 2022.
Tutto il viaggio è stato meraviglioso, denso di emozioni, di scoperte ed anche di divertimento (anche se la visita dei luoghi della memoria dello Sbarco Alleato del 1944 ha portato nei nostri cuori un profondo senso di rispetto per il sacrificio dei tanti giovani che hanno combattuto per la nostra libertà).
Se non lo avete già fatto vi consiglio di vedere tutta la serie, a partire dalla puntata numero 0, quella della presentazione del viaggio.
Ma questa vacanza così bella in pleinair, non poteva avere un finale migliore.
In questa puntata vediamo infatti la grandissima suggestione della nostra sosta sulla brughiera direttamente sulla scogliera, in un'area gratuita dedicata ai camper sotto la lanterna di un faro che emette un intenso fascio di luce rossa.
Ci siamo spostati poi a Cherbourg dove abbiamo trovato una sosta attrezzata gratuita, davanti alla Citè de la Mer, un fantastico parco scientifico, che abbiamo visitato con grandissimo interesse e sempre pieni di meraviglia, tra sottomarini atomici, migliaia di pesci dei mari più profondi e la ricostruzione della storia del Titanic che nel suo primo ed ultimo viaggio aveva fatto scalo qui a Cherbourg.
Wow era l’espressione continuamente appariva sui nostri volti.
Il biglietto d’ingresso costa ben 19 euro a persona, ma li vale tutti!
Il centro della città di Cherbourg che si raggiunge comodamente a piedi è pittoresco e molto animato, con i tavolini dei bar all’aperto ed il susseguirsi di piccoli ristoranti lungo la banchina della darsena, dove abbiamo fatto scorpacciata di ostriche, gamberetti rosa e altri gustosissimi molluschi.
Tappa successiva è Le Mont Saint Michel con le storie delle maree e della mistica Linea di San Michele Arcangelo che unisce in linea retta ben a sette santuari a lui dedicati, che va dall’Irlanda ad Israele, passando appunto per Mont Saint Michel, come anche per la Sacra di San Michele in val di Susa (Piemonte) e per il santuario di San Michele Arcangelo a Monte Sant’Angelo (Puglia).
Imbocchiamo così la strada del ritorno a casa, passando per la cittadina di Nevers dove andiamo ad onorare la tomba di Santa Bernadette, che dopo le apparizioni della Vergine a Lourdes, era stata qui trasferita alla Casa Madre delle Suore della Carità.
Infine attraversiamo il Moncenisio ed eccoci al confine con l’Italia.
Ringraziamo la Francia, per le tante meraviglie che ci ha fatto scoprire e per la stupenda ospitalità offerta ai viaggiatori in camper.
