BEST TORONTO ROAD TRIPS - PORT COLBORNE ONTARIO
I never knew sitting by the water canal and watching the bridge lift AND have the boats pass by was SO MUCH FUN! Great way to spend the day! I would recommend going to Niagara-on-the-Lake or Niagara Falls first and then visiting this town afterwards (as there is not much to do nearby). Or you can book the Canalside Inn reservation via AirBnB and stay here for the night. I heard there is music on the weekends in the bar downstairs! Could this be Ontario's little New Orleans?
Btw there are 2 beaches Nickel Beach and Crystal Beach nearby. I was foolish to think we can simply go there on a Sunday, no no no, only by reservation! So book well in advance if that's your plan.

Port Colborne is a city located in the Niagara Region of Southern Ontario, on the northern shore of Lake Erie. Port Colborne was first settled in the early 19th century and grew quickly as a result of its proximity to Lake Erie and the Welland Canal, which connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Today, the city is a thriving community that is known for its strong maritime heritage, charming downtown area, and natural beauty. One of the main attractions in Port Colborne is the Welland Canal. Visitors can watch ships pass through the canal, which is an important transportation route for cargo ships traveling between the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway.

It's hard to describe and share what it feels like to experience Canal Days in Port Colborne. This annual Marine Heritage Festival offers so many different activities for all ages. SPLASHTOWN NIAGARA WATERPARK AT NICKEL BEACH IN PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO
Just about 2 hours drive from Toronto, Nickel Beach is a great place to spend your summer with family and friends. It is kid-friendly as the beach has shallow waters and it is one of the few remaining beaches that offers beachgoers the rare and one-of-a-kind option to park vehicles directly on the beach front for the entire day. Nickel Beach has a new attraction which is the Splashtown Niagara Waterpark. You need to book online for the parking beach pass for Nickel Beach and for the Inflatable Waterpark separately.

In this video I will share with you my absolute favourite road trip locations that you MUST do in 2024! (promise? :)
I have tried to collect it all, the nature trips such as Pelee Island and Haliburton to trips where you will learn plenty such as Ostrich Land and Oxford Cheese Trail, to simply very unique locations that are not well known such as Canadian Automotive Museum and Muskoka Goat Away.
This video also covers a number of Ontario cities that are true gems! Visit North Bay and Sudbury for some gorgeous nature and unique history, Sarnia for some amazing beaches, Peterborough to check out a very unique one-of-a-kind lift lock and Port Colborne to see a bridge lift up when the boat passes it under!
