Tobogganing in Quebec City -- Must-try winter activities in Canada

There's no better way to experience winter in Quebec City than to go tobogganing on Terrasse Dufferin, right next to the famous Château Frontenac. We tried it for the first time, and it was surprisingly fast! And the view is beautiful on the way down. Just keep in mind, that cold air will really whip across your face. If you have sunglasses, bring them and PUT THEM ON! My eyes felt frozen in place at the end. ???? Also, it was super cheap! Only 3 CAD$ per person, or 4 tickets for 10 CAD$. If the line up isn't too long, I'd say it's definitely worth it.

Fun fact, the ride is called Au 1884, because it's been open every winter since that year.

Have you ever tried it? What's your favorite thing to do in Quebec City? Share in the comments below. ????

.......ABOUT ME……
When I was younger, I used to dream of traveling the world and working abroad. But I also wanted to study journalism and work in television. So I started with the latter and spent more than 10 years working as a TV & radio reporter, presenting the weather, and co-hosting a popular Montreal morning show on LIVE television.

In June 2016, I stumbled on a completely crazy opportunity -- to work as a G.O for Club Med -- and I decided to take the leap!

2 weeks later, I was flying out to Club Med Punta Cana to first work in Guest Relations/Reception, but then transitioned to Community Manager in Turks & Caicos, and eventually became expert content creator for the entire North American zone.

I left G.O life in December 2018 and now freelance as a video creator and digital marketing specialist while still doing some hosting and narration work on the side. I still work with Club Med recruitment teams and continue to make videos about G.O life. I am also an ambassador for Wild Canyon Adventures in Los Cabos, Mexico. I continue to travel and act like a clown in front of cameras.

Canada Road Trip: Best Things To Do In Quebec

Looking for the best things to do in Quebec? Look no further! We'll show you the best things to do in Montreal, Quebec City, Mont Tremblant, and more~

Québec was the fifth province we visited on our 150-day road trip across Canada and in this video, we share some of the best things to do in Quebec!

Learn more about Quebec at

Québec is a big province full of history, nature, and diverse cities. As Canada’s only primarily French-speaking province, it’s quite different than the rest of the country. Also, due to the complicated history between the English and the French, Québec has always strived to create and keep its own identity, which is quite apparent in the pride they have for their own flag and other cultural practices. We learned so much during our time in the province and had a lot of fun exploring the cities and the surrounding nature.

Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?

We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

10 THINGS TO DO IN QUEBEC CITY | Travel Guide

If you want to experience a Canadian city with a bit of French flair, then you need to visit Quebec City.
Situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, this is a town with good looks and a big heart. We only had a day and a half there, but that was enough time to wander the cobbled streets, catch some street performances, and visit many of the top attractions. The following is a little video of our time in historic Quebec City, Canada highlighting the top 10 things to do and see in this top attractions travel guide:

10 THINGS TO DO IN QUEBEC CITY | Travel Guide

1) Plains of Abraham

We are no standing on the Plains of Abraham and this is the location where the battle between the English and the French was fought. This was the battle that ultimately determined the fate of North America.

This battle was part of the Seven Years' War and it would be the deciding factor over the fate of New France, influencing the later creation of Canada.

2) Citadelle

We just finished visiting the Citadelle and if you get the chance I would suggest you try to be here by ten in the morning. That is when they have the changing of the guard ceremony and it is a lot of fun to watch. They even have a pet goat that takes part so it really is a lot of fun.

The Citadelle is the largest British fortress in North America.

3) Chateau Frontenac

Now we're visiting Chateau Frontenac, one of the most famous hotels in all of Canada. It is a stunner. It is just absolutely beautiful. We're trying to capture it from different vantage points.

The hotel was designed by American architect Bruce Price. It was one of many château style hotels built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company with the goal of promoting luxury tourism. Today, a night at the Frontenac starts at $379 dollars.

4) Terrasse Dufferin

This boardwalk that we are currently standing on is called Terrasse Dufferin and it is a great place for a stroll. You can catch some street performers, eat some ice cream and you also get some great views of the river below.

The promenade sits right outside the Chateau Frontenac and it is 425 meters in length. You can also catch a funicular nearby which takes you to the Old Lower Town.

5) Quartier Petit Champlain

Petit Champlain is a neighbourhood located in the Old Lower Town. It is quite picturesque, especially when viewed from the Breakneck Stairs. The narrow cobbled streets are lined with small shops and cafes. It's a really fun neighbourhood to explore with a camera in hand.

6) Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec

The Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec is the oldest church in the Americas north of Mexico. If you want to get a sneak peek at the crypt, you'll have to sign up for a guided tour.

7) Rue St. Paul

We're now walking along Rue St. Paul and this is a great place to browse for antiques and you can buy some souvenirs.

Just don't leave your visit to the end of the day because you may find that a lot of the shops have closed.

8) Museum of Civilization

The Museum of Civilization is a great place to learn about the Aboriginal peoples of Quebec.

9) Port of Quebec

We're here now in the Port Area. This is a great place to take a ferry. A lot of people come here to exercise, to fish and just to enjoy the views of the St. Lawrence river. It is a really relaxing place.

The Port of Quebec is the oldest in all of Canada and it played an important role in developing the region. Today you'll find that cruises have replaced much of the former freight traffic.

10) Catch a Street Performance

And lastly, you can't come to Quebec City and not catch a street performance! The city celebrates its performers and you'll often find acts taking place in the town square and parks. Grab a seat for some live entertainment and don't forget to leave a tip at the end!

Canadian Rockies Travel Guide | Canada's Most Beautiful Place To Visit

Join us for this Canadian Rockies travel guide as we explore one of Canada's most beautiful places to visit. The big reason we took a road trip from Ontario to Alberta and British Columbia was to see the Rocky Mountains. For Audrey's parents, especially her Dad, it has been a dream to see this beautiful part of Canada for decades. With a chance to finally do it we were all thrilled to visit the Canadian Rockies together as a family with Togo the German Shepherd. The following is everywhere we visited in and around the Canadian Rockies including most of our time spent in Banff National Park and Kootenay National Park in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia:

1) Getting our park passes at Banff National Park for the whole family
2) Exploring the town of Banff including hiking the Bow River Trail and the Banff Springs Hotel
3) Visiting the nearby town of Canmore to walk along Policeman’s Creek Boardwalk Trail
4) Visiting Cascade Ponds where Audrey's sister got married
5) Exploring Lake Minnewanka where you can hike, kayak or canoe
6) Driving through Kootenay Provincial Park
7) Hiking to visit the Paint Pots to visit the pools
8) Visiting the incredibly beautiful Lake Moraine
9) Visiting world famous Lake Louise
10) Hiking the Old Coach Trail in between Radium Hot Springs and Dry Gulch
11) Relaxing at Windermere Lake

Canadian Rockies Travel Guide | Canada's Most Beautiful Place To Visit Video Transcript:

Welcome to the Canadian Rockies! In the last video we showed you the 4-and-a-half day car journey from Ontario, but now it’s time to jump into the sightseeing.

We had 1 full week in the Rockies, splitting our time between both Alberta and British Columbia, and all of our days were spent hiking in woods, visiting the lakes, and just enjoying being surrounded by nature.

This was a family road trip with our trusty family dog Togo in tow, so we’re going to be sharing with you our adventure in what may well be the most beautiful part of Canada!

The Bow River trail is just a few steps from downtown Banff and it follows the riverside.

From there, we walked over to the Banff Springs Hotel. This historic hotel opened up in 1888 it’s one of Canada's grand railway hotels built by the Canadian Pacific Railway. We continued over to Canmore.

From there, we drove over to Lake Minnewanka, which has more of a bluer hue in comparison to the other turquoise and emerald lakes in the Rockies. Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake 21 kilometres in length, making it the 2nd longest lake in the Rockies. It’s a hub for water activity like boat cruises, kayaking, canoeing, and well, it’s beautiful.

Later that day we drove to Moraine Lake, which is another glacially fed lake. It has a brilliant blue-green colour due to light refracting off the rock sediments, and like most destinations in the Rockies, this one was another stunner.

The views from the shore of Lake Louise were nothing short of stunning, we had Victoria Glacier perfectly framed by mountains on either side, and then the brilliant glacial waters with dotted with red canoes.

Our final destination in the Rockies was Kananaskis Country where we visited Lower Kananaskis Lake and Upper Kananaskis Lake.

The real highlight was finally spotting some wildlife just as we were leaving for the day.

And that’s a wrap for our Rockies Road Trip! We still have lots left to see of our home country, but we can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful destinations in all of Canada.

We hope you guys got a few ideas of places to visit on your trip.

Wishing you happy travels and see you next time!

This is part of our Travel in Canada video series showcasing Canadian food, Canadian culture and Canadian cuisine.

Welcome to Alberta, Canada!

From boreal forests to vast prairies and high mountain peaks, Alberta is an incredible province to explore. This is Canada's fourth-most populous province and one of only two Canadian provinces that are land-locked. This is also our home province and it was very fun to be able to experience Alberta as part of the Road to 150 travel series.

We rode a gondola to the top of a mountain, walked on a glacier, hiked to various waterfalls, canoed a glacier-fed lake, had fun at the second-largest indoor waterpark in the world, hiked into a canyon, learned about dinosaurs, rode on a steam train, and learned about Canada's star music talent. We also went up into the iconic Calgary Tower, rode the world's largest indoor triple loop rollercoaster, and drove the world-famous Icefields Parkway. We packed a lot of adventures into our short visit and can't wait to explore the province deeper.

Canada's Road to 150 was a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?

We drove to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim was to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.
