A walk through Straubing, Germany
Straubing / Germany is a city in Lower Bavaria, located between Regensburg and Passua. Located on the banks of the Danube river, Straubing is also one of the gateways to the Bavarian Forest region. The medium-sized city of Straubing has around 50,000 inhabitants and is home to a university.

Wendelstein mountain experience 4K
To experience the Wendelstein highlights as a tourist, you can reach the mountain station from Osterhofen with the Wendelstein cable car in 7 minutes. A well-secured hiking trail leads from here to the top of the mountain. On the 20-minute ascent you can enjoy very beautiful views of the Alps and the surrounding area. In the Wendelsteinhaus and on the terrace in front of it, you can fortify yourself with a hearty snack. The small church Kirchl behind it is Germany's highest church, where a divine service takes place every Sunday in summer. The Gacher Blick viewing platform just a few steps from the Wendelsteinhaus offers a breathtaking view of the Wilder Kaiser, Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains. The play area at 1730m also offers children an eventful and unforgettable stay.

The train station that's in two countries
The railway station serving the village of Bayerisch Eisenstein is built right on the Czech border. It never lived up to its expectations, but instead became a casualty of the Cold War before experiencing something of a renaissance and becoming an unlikely tourist attraction. We also visit the Czech village of Železná Ruda and briefly mention a history of mining, glassmaking, and the War of the Spanish Succession.

TRIPREPORT
This time I want to show you the video of my train trip to Passau in Germany. I travelled on 17th June 2023.
I started in Pilsen and travelled to Linz with one change of trains in České Budějovice. After little city sightseeing and transportation spotting in Linz I continued to Passau in Germany and then via Regensburg back home to Pilsen.
This second episode is about trip from Linz to Passau, Regensburg and back home to Pilsen.

Deggendorf | Travel Tipps | Reiseführer Deutsch
Deggendorf ist eine niederbayerische Stadt und ein bedeutender Donauhafen. Aufgrund ihrer Lage wird die Stadt auch „Pforte zum Bayerischen Wald“ genannt.
Deggendorf ist ein alter Ort. Im Jahre 1337 wurden hier sämtliche Juden ermordet. Im Dreißigjährigen Krieg (1633 und 1638) litt die Stadt sehr; 1744 wurde sie von Batthyány geplündert und 1748 von Karl von Lothringen verbrannt; 1822 brannten 211 Gebäude ab.
Deggendorf ist der Sage nach mit dem Knödel verbunden. Um 1266 wurde die Stadt von den Böhmen belagert und die Nahrung wurden knapp. Die Frauen versorgten die Männer auf der Stadtmauer mit Knödeln. Als ein Böhme versuchte die Stadtmauer zu ersteigen, bewarf die Ehefrau des Bürgermeisters ihn mit einem Knödel. Als er daraufhin seinem Heerführer erzählte, dass Deggendorf noch über so viel Lebensmittel verfüge, um damit zu werfen, zogen die Truppen ab. Heute hat man der Knödelwerferin mit einem Brunnen ein Denkmal gesetzt.
