Does Rothenburg's Famous Food Hold Up? German Food Tour! What To Eat In Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
NearFromHome has focused on daytrips in Oberbayern, but in this video we venture north, to Rothenburg ob der Tauber in the Franconia region of Germany. Come with us as we take the train from Munich for the weekend, discovering the famous dishes of this famous medieval town. We relax with some coffee and cake at a local Conditerei followed by more sweets at a Schneeballen bakery. Finally, we cap the night off, at Rothenburg's oldet building, Zur Höll, where we tray some local beer, roast beef, smoked sausages, and salmon.

Old Town (Medieval) area of Esslingen am Neckar, Germany
Esslingen am Neckar in Germany has been pretty much thriving since around since the year 800. Because it was spared from much of the bombings of WWII, the old town area remained pretty much intact. Walking through here is really a step back in time, with parts of the old city wall and tower still standing. The whole area is full of beautiful half-timbered houses that Germany is known for. The Rossneckar-canal, part of the Neckar River, runs through the city, with many homes built right over it. Not to be missed if you ever visit Germany - hope you enjoy the video snippets we filmed and are enticed to consider coming here one day. Im RemsMurrKreis gibt es ein gutes Dutzend größerer Seen. An etwa der Hälfte davon ist das Baden erlaubt.
Wenn Ihr wissen wollt, welche Seen das sind, dann bleibt dran….
In den kommenden Minuten stellen wir euch die schönsten Badeseen im Rems-Murr-Kreis vor.

Da wir es gerne euch überlassen würden, welcher Badesee nun der schönste ist,
präsentieren wir euch die Seen von Nord nach Süd.
Der erste Badesee den wir euch zeigen wollen, liegt bei Fornsbach, in der Nähe von Murrhardt.
Der Waldsee hat wirklich für jeden was zu bieten. Film ab….
Zwischen Althütte und Kaisersbach liegt der vielleicht bekannteste See in unserer Region.
Der Ebnisee ist weit über die Grenzen des Rems-Murr-Kreises bekannt. Seine wunderschöne Lage und seine Freizeit- und Einkehrmöglichkeiten machen Ihn zu einem der beliebtesten Ausflugsziele in unserer Umgebung. Viel Spaß….
Zwischen Kaiserbach und Welzheim liegt der Aichstrutsee. Zusammen mit dem Ebnisee und dem Weldsee gehört er zu den drei bekanntesten Seen im Rems-Murr-Kreis. Auch er bietet jede Menge Freizeitmöglichkeiten und natürlich
zahlreiche Bademöglichkeiten….Wir schauen mal rein…..
Der Hagerwaldsee- und der Hüttenbühlsee sind beide nur einen kräftigen Steinwurf voneinander entfernt. An beiden Seen könnt Ihr ins Wasser springen. Am Hüttenbühlsee kommt sogar ein wenig karibisches Feeling auf.
Aber seht selbst…..
Der Vorletzte See den wir euch heute zeigen wollen, ist eher ein ruhigeres Plätzchen.
Der Eisenbachsee bietet euch klares Wasser, eine Menge versteckte Liegeplätze und einen
sehr netten Biergarten. Film ab….
Wir sind schon ganz im Süden, und somit bei unserem Letzten See angekommen.
In Plüderhausen gibt es gleich mehrere Seen. An einigen kann geangelt werden, und einem davon
ist auch das Schwimmen erlaubt. Also schaun wir mal rein….

Walking in ESSLINGEN / Germany ???????? - Old Town On A Rainy Afternoon - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Esslingen am Neckar is a city near Stuttgart in the state of Baden-Württemberg. As mentioned in the official name, the city is located on the Neckar River.
We are visiting Esslingen on a rainy day (October 2020) and start our tour right near the train station. The ES mall gets a quick visit on our way to the city center.
We walk on the Bahnhofsstraße as the main shopping street to the Schelztor. The Schelztor is an old tower from the 13th century. One of the last three surviving towers of the former city wall.
In the norther part of the city we head towards the Frauenkirche and then get back towards the center via the St. Dionys church.
There are several nice half-timbered houses in Esslingen which see along our route through the old town. It is a bit rainy now yet we see several sights like the Postmichelbrunnen, Hafenmarkt and the Old Town Hall built around 1420.
In the end we head towards the train station again to end our tour of Esslingen.

Esslingen am Neckar is a city in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany, seat of the District of Esslingen as well as the largest city in the district. Within Baden-Württemberg it is the 11th largest city.
It is located on the Neckar River, about 14 kilometres (9 miles) southeast of Stuttgart city center. The regions surrounding the city of Esslingen are also mostly developed.
Esslingen was a free imperial city for several centuries until it was annexed by Württemberg in 1802.
The German Timber-Frame Road passes through the city.
Prehistoric times
There is archaeological evidence that what is now the city of Esslingen was settled since the Neolithic period. Traces of human settlement found at the site of the city church date back to around 1000 B.C.
Roman times
In the 1st century AD the Esslingen region became part of the Roman Empire. During this period a Roman warehouse was located in the area of Oberesslingen. The nearest major Roman settlements and garrisons were at Cannstatt and Köngen.

Göppingen is a town in southern Germany, part of the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg. It is the capital of the district Göppingen. Göppingen is home to the toy company Märklin, and it is the birthplace of football player Jürgen Klinsmann.
Göppingen is situated at the bottom of the Hohenstaufen mountain, in the valley of the river Fils. The districts of Göppingen are Bartenbach, Bezgenriet, Faurndau, Göppingen, Hohenstaufen, Holzheim, Jebenhausen and Maitis.
Tradition holds that the city was founded by an Alemannic leader called Geppo sometime in the 3rd or 4th century. A disastrous fire on August 25, 1782, destroyed most of the town, but it was immediately rebuilt. Industrialization during the 19th century made the area into a center of industry. The importance of such an industry is still seen in the town in the present day in companies such as Märklin and Schuler.

ein kleiner Geheimtipp ist, dann bleibt dran…
Zwischen Plüderhausen und Lorch Waldhausen liegen gleich mehrere größere
und kleinere Seen. Nachdem wir bereits über die Seen in Plüderhausen berichtet haben,
kümmern wir uns heute um den Badesee in Waldhausen.
Der See ist etwa 360 Meter lang und 180 Meter breit.
Den genauen Standort bei Google Maps und weitere Infos erhaltet Ihr auf unserer Homepage.
Ich starte meinen Ausflug beim Parkplatz am Ostufer.
Von der Straße aus habt Ihr immer wieder die Möglichkeit auf die kleinen Trampelpfade zu
gelangen die rund um den See führen. Im Gegensatz zu seinem größeren Nachbarn in Plüderhausen
ist hier alles ein wenig ruhiger und ursprünglicher. …..
Ganz im Südwesten befindet sich der Kiosk am Badesee.
Der Idyllisch gelegene Biergarten bietet Sonnige und schattige Plätze, leckere Speisen und kühle Getränke an.
Zu meinem Erstaunen gibt es hier sogar Cocktails- und was passt besser zum Seeufer als ein handgemachter Sex on the Beach.
FAZIT: Der Badesee in Waldhausen ist ein kleiner Geheimtipp für alle die es gerne etwas ruhiger und natürlicher mögen.
Der schöne Biergarten rundet das kleine aber feine Angebot ab.
