HIKING to Grand Portal Point! The Best Hike in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore- Exploring the UP
The Best of Pictured Rocks day hiking along the National Lakeshore!
I had to break my trip to Pictured Rocks into two parts because both hikes were just too good to shorten. This is the one that surprised me! You'll notice while watching the video how amazed I was at the hike.
For this hike along Pictured Rocks I started at Chapel Rock Basin Parking Lot, went to Chapel Rock, Chapel Beach, then on Grand Portal Point and then along to Mosquito Beach and back to the Chapel Rock Basin Parking Lot.
The Road to Chapel Rock Basin was a mess. I was able to get through it with the van, but I had to portage around some dirt roads with massive divots.
I loved Pictured Rocks and the town of Munising Michigan! Great place to spend a few days in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This was 2 weeks before the cliffside fell into lake Superior. The rock fall was a few hundred feet south of where I ended my hike along the lakeshore.
