Pines Resort Waterpark | Gauteng | 4K
This is Pines Resort, Gauteng's most well known waterpark...if you don't believe me, ask any grandparent in the West Rand, they probably went there when they were kids.
We had the opportunity to film their company promo video...and of course a little few shots of Zack.

EARTH'S LARGEST CRATER - VREDEFORT DOME HIKING | Parys, South Africa
The Vredefort Dome (Crater) is currently the largest and one of the oldest known meteor impact sites in the world. It is South Africa's seventh World Heritage Site and this is largely due to the research scientist from Wits University, including Dr. Rodger Hart. One hundred kilometers south west of Johannesburg, South Africa are the towns of Vredefort and Parys, the latter lying next to the Vaal river.The towns are a short deviation from the N1 highway to Cape Town. In an arc to the north and west of the towns is a partial ring of hills, some 70 kilometers in diameter. The hills are centered on Vredefort. The ring of hills and the area within them is known as the Vredefort Dome.his is the biggest meteorite impact that geologists have yet found on Earth and it is nearly twice as big as the impact that killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. This makes it a site of great importance for scientists.The Vredefort Dome is a beautiful tourism place situated approximately 100 km from Johannesburg.

Vredefort Crater Mountains, Parys South Africa
Parys in the Northern Freestate is less than an hour's drive (120km) from Johannesburg, South Africa.The Vredefort structure is currently described as the World's oldest and largest impact structure declared South Africa's seventh World Heritage site in July 2005. The structure was formed 2020 million years ago when an asteroid of 10 kilometers in diameter collided with the earth at a speed of 30 000km/h. The Vredefort Dome is South Africa's 7th World Heritage Site. The Vaal River which flows through the crater is the oldest river in the world though not nearly as old as the crater. The Vaal River is a playground for white water rafters and kayakers. The river rafting trips are offered on the most popular rafting stretch in South Africa.Hiking trails guarantee interesting sights e.g. undamaged Bushman rock paintings and remains of stone villages of indigenous tribes who lived in the Vredefort Dome region during the Iron Age can be seen on these routes.Bird watching the Vredefort Dome-area is truly a birdwatcher's paradise.

A visit to Parys in the Freestate for a two-night stay-over in our van, JAUNTI on her second jaunt out close to home, it is amazing what you can find out about the history of the areas around you in van life, some sad times that had taken place and yet such an amazing little place on the Vaal River, on a pully platform we ended up on an island between the river estuaries, where we told the dreadful story of a heroic man who saved many people and drowned in his attempt.
We had a very quiet vanlife weekend which was so needed, we met Jenny and Herman a lovely couple, who gave us insight as Herman lives in Parys.

Visited La Retraite Parys on the Vaal River for a family weekend getaway and fishing close to Gauteng. We really enjoyed the stay and share gladly share some of the fishing and the beautiful landscape we experienced.
In South Africa we call a barber is an air breathing catfish. The Vaal river is known for beautiful fish and this is a great place to go for the day.

This video is packed full of epic adventures! We drink our way through wine country, visit the cutest penguins in Bettys Bay, and even go diving with giant sharks in Gansbaai!
If you are a wine lover you might already know that South Africa is one of the top 10 largest wine producers in the world. It is also home to one of the oldest wine countries (or Winelands) outside of Europe, a wine country that we could not pass up the chance to visit! Join us as we drink our way through Robertson, Franschoek, and of course Stellenbosch.
After a few days in wine country it was time to continue on the road trip. It wouldn’t be a proper Garden Route Road Trip without a stop at the Stony Point Penguin Colony in Betty’s Bay. Stony Point Nature Reserve is home to one of the largest breeding colonies of the endangered African Penguin in the world. We could have stayed and watched those little guys forever, they are just the CUTEST!
One of the top adventures on the Garden Route is shark cage diving, so of course we couldn’t miss our opportunity. We headed down to Gansbaai because it has the largest populations of great white sharks in the world. We were thrilled to be able to dive with these giant beasts!
