Narita (Things to do - Places to Visit) - NARITA Top Tourist Places
City in Japan
Narita is a city on the eastern outskirts of Tokyo, Japan. It's home to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.

In Narita's center is the centuries-old Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, a Buddhist complex with gilded pagodas and tranquil gardens. Running between Narita train station and the temple is Omotesando, a narrow street lined with colorful shops and restaurants in the style of Japan's Edo period.

10 things to do near NARITA AIRPORT ✈️ (Japan travel guide)

Today’s video is going to be a list of things you could do near NARITA AIRPORT????

Did you know that you can enjoy traditional Japan just a 10-minute train ride away from Narita airport?

Narita station is just one station away from Narita Airport Terminal 2, and there are so many things to see, eat and explore!

Here are 10 ways to spend your layover or spare time before/after your flight!

00:00 Intro

00:20 ✅ Explore NARITASAN OMOTESANDO
- Here’s a street that lasts about 800m with over 150 restaurants and souvenir shops. It prospers as a temple town from the Edo era, and you can see some of the remains from that time.

01:25 ✅ Try the delicious YAKI DANGO!
- Japanese dango are round glutinous rice flour (mochiko) dumplings that are served with a bamboo stick. On each skewer, there are typically three dango balls. We tried this Yaki Dango with miso sauce and it was so good! Price was ¥400.

02:01 ✅ Eat different STREET FOOD like this lamb skewers.
- There are a lot more types of street food you can find, especially when there are special traditional Japanese events. On this day we had this lamb skewers for ¥450.

03:19 ✅ Try their specialty UNAGI (freshwater eel).
- Narita is home to Lake Inbanuma, the Tone River, and Naganuma, where once upon a time people could catch freshwater fish such as Unagi. It’s usually pricey, but you could also try the skewers for only ¥350.

04:41 ✅ Visit the NARITASAN SHINSHOJI TEMPLE and the 3-storied pagoda.
- Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is a large and highly popular Buddhist temple complex in Narita. Admission is free, and you can also enjoy the beautiful pagoda.

07:33 ✅ Draw an OMIKUJI and find out your fortune.
- These are random fortunes written on strips of paper, which are usually received by making a small offering (usually ¥100) and randomly choosing one from a box, hoping for the resulting fortune to be good. We got “uncertain luck” this time ????

08:45 ✅ Stroll around NARITASAN PARK.
- It’s a large garden of 165,000sqm using the hilly land behind the Main Hall of Shinsho-ji Temple completed in 1928. There’s a lovely pond with koi too.

10:43 ✅ Visit the GREAT PEACE PAGODA.
- Also known as “Heiwa no Daito” is a 58m-tall structure that was built in 1984. You could visit the museum on the ground level too.

12:39 ✅ Try the sweet CANDY APPLE.
- Candied apples, ringo ame in Japanese, is a popular treat which you will always find at Japanese festivals. We were lucky to find a stall in Naritasan and the price was ¥300 for the small one.

13:46 ✅ Eat at ISOMARU SUISAN in front of Narita station.
- Before riding the train home, we had dinner at this restaurant located just in front of the station. If you love seafood, here’s the place to go! We got grilled squid, sashimi/seafood bowl for reasonable prices.

Sooooo… which one would you like to do? ???? Leave your comments ????

10-Hour Layover in Narita, Japan!!! What to do?

I had a long layover during the day in Narita airport, which is about 1.5 hours away from Tokyo. Though Tokyo was somewhat close by, I decided to visit Narita City, which is only a 10-minute train ride from the airport...was not disappointed!

Though it was a cold & rainy day, it did not stop me or many other tourists from visiting the walking city! The big highlights for me were: Buddhist temple, rows of shops selling snacks to souvenirs, & the food (Unagi and takoyaki).

0:13 Overview of transportation options to Narita Airport

The options are...
-Express Train - Narita Express and Keisei Skyliner
-Local Bus
-Bus - LCC and limousine
-Taxi

Basically LCC buses are the cheapest way to go, and express trains and limousine are about the same price.

1:08 Overview of express train

-Narita Express is great for people staying in south west area including Shinjuku, Shibuya and Tokyo.

-Keisei Skyliner is great for people staying in north east area including Ueno and Nippori.

1:29 How to ride the express train

-From the Airport:
When you arrive at Narita Airport, go to B1. You will find RED Narita Express ticket booth and machines on the right and BLUE Skyliner ticket booth and machines on the left.
-To the Airport:
N'EX - Go to your nearest JR station to buy ticket. You can buy tickets even though express train does not stop at your nearest station.
Skyliner - Go to Nippori or Ueno to buy tickets.

2:52 Tips on express train

Tip 1 - Arrive to the station 15-20 minutes early (on return)
There is always a long line at the ticket booth and the platform to get on the train might be quite far from the gate so make sure to arrive early.

Tip 2 - Use ticket machine when in hurry
Usually you don't need to wait in line for ticket machines to buy a ticket and takes only about 5 minutes. Consider this as an option when you are in hurry.

Tip 3 - Sit at the front of the car
Luggage compartment is located at the front and the end of the each car of express train. People get stuck when getting the luggage upon arrivals. It is stressful to worry about if you can get out or not so it's good to sit at the front. (the end is ok too.)

Note: About tickets
when you buy tickets by credit card, you will receive 3 tickets - an express train ticket, receipt, and credit card receipt. You need to show only the train ticket to the train attendant.

CORRECTION: X 4 ticket → ◉ 3 tickets
(I was with my gf so we had 4 tickets.)

4:05 Bus
- LCC (Tokyo Shuttle and Access Narita) can take you to/from Tokyo and Ginza Station.
- Limousine Bus runs to/from major hotels.

5:23 How to take the bus
-Limousine Bus and Tokyo Shuttle - At Narita Airport on the first floor, you can find ticket machines and man booth.
-Access Narita - All you need to do is go to the train stop and pay on the bus. No reservation needed.

Japanese Street Food Tour by Narita Airport

Japanese Street Food Tour by Narita Airport at Naritasan Shinshoji ( Narita Omotesando). This local near tokyo street food tour is very different than many of the street food spots that I've shown as many of the shops and restaurants here still have an Edo period feel. It’s only about a 10 minute train ride from Narita Airport so you can come here if you’re on a layover or just in the area. After you get off at Narita station, there’s a 800m long omotesando shopping street, sando for short, that leads directly to the Narita san Shinshoji Temple which dates back more than 1000 years. This area flourished during the Edo period and you can still see some of that influence today. These are my favorite and best Japanese street food spots in this area.

Edo Period Street Food Tour Near Narita Airport!

Subscribe to our channel:

Most associate Narita with the International Airport- while traveling to Japan, there’s a good chance that this is your first stop! However, not many people realize that Narita is way more than an airport, keeping the area of Naritasan a hidden in plain sight gem!

Shizuka heads to Chiba prefecture to check out this often overlooked area. Dressing up in a summer-style kimono, called a yukata, Shizuka explores Naritasan Omotesando and samples the local specialties along the way. Soft, savory rice cakes and refreshing sweets can’t compete with the true culinary star of the day - eel! The long, slippery aquatic creatures are surprisingly tasty, and the perfect meal for a hot summer day.

FEATURED FOODS:
Senbei: This version of the rice cake is fluffy and comes on a stick for an easy on-the-go snack!
Gold sesame soft cream: Smoothie, milky soft cream with heaps of powdered sesame on top.
Goma torori: Squishy, chewing rice dumplings filled with rich black sesame jam.
Unagi pan: Fluffy bread filled with eel.
Frozen Amazake: A fermented rice drink that’s a byproduct of sake, served as a slushy.
Unaju: Grilled unagi over rice.
Umaki: Tamagoyaki mixed with unagi, aka rolled egg and eel.

► WHO AM I?

Short answer: I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged the life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

Detailed answer: ????

P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)
