This video is about Bruges Belgium Tour Travel | RoamerRealm

Ever since I first landed in Bruges Belgium, apart from the ‘high praises’ that were given to Antwerp and Brussels, there were two other towns that gained a lot of raves from tourists and travelers alike: Bruges and Ghent.

We've already explored Ghent in the earlier video, and today we're here at Bruges Belgium; a seemingly favorite choice of Belgians when it comes to charming little old towns! In this video, I'll give you a quick snapshot about this place with some essential information in case you're planning a visit here! So, let's go explore Bruges (Brugge) Belgium!

Bruges (Brugge) Belgium, is the capital and largest city in the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. In Dutch, the name means ‘bridges'. The city center is rather small and an outstanding example of a medieval historic settlement! Thanks to the cobbled lanes, dreamy canals & medieval architecture being in Bruges (Brugge) Belgium can make you feel like you're walking and living in a fairy tale town

Getting to Bruges (Brugge) Belgium is easy from many places in Belgium and the Netherlands. It's well connected and you can reach here by using a car, taxi, bus or train. Belgium has an excellent rail system so it shouldn’t be hard for you to reach here using that.

The Center is the hub of all activities, but during peak season it can be really crowded for ones taste. You can escape that with De Brugse Vesten - a scenic park or ‘green belt’ around the city’s historic center that’s also laced with canals.A backpack is fine, but remember that the city has streets with cobbled stones so carrying a strolley or a suitcase will be challenging! You'll cross the beautiful Minnewater Park, also knows as the ‘Lake of Love’ on the way towards the center! Incase you get hungry, grab a quick bite at one of the many street side restaurants and if you're tired, or maybe just curious, you could ride a horse carriage.

The Grote Market Or simply ‘Markt‘ is a large market square of Bruges (Brugge) Belgium that packs a lot of character! It has a prominent statue in the middle highlighting two ‘heroes’ of the city, the reference being the historical Battle of the Golden Spurs. The Belfry, it's a medieval (12th century) bell tower rising at 83 meters and it is surely one of Bruges’ most prominent symbols. It has 366 steps and should you choose to climb them, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city! Some very talented street artists can be spotted here as well! I think prior to this day I had never seen a person playing a Harp in real, so this was an incredible sight! Also, you'll be surprised to know that these artists don't just randomly start playing on the streets. They audition in the city hall and only the really good ones make the cut and are then assigned spots throughout the city where they can to play in public. This quality control is done keeping the tourists in mind!

Next is one of the most photographed area in Bruges (Brugge) Belgium. It's also right next to the hotel which was also featured in the movie ‘In Bruges‘. Canal cruises also start & I can't stress enough that a trip to Bruges (Brugge) Belgium would NOT be complete without this experience! It may sound like ‘touristy’ thing to do but I still think it's one of those experiences which should not be missed.

As always, thanks for watching, keep exploring, this is Rahul and I'll see you in the next one!

HISTORICAL DINANT & FACTS || CITADEL - DINANT- FULL VIDEO || BATTLE OF DINANT - World War 1

#chitra_world #belgium #history #dinant #worldwar #dinantsax #historia #visitingplacesinbelgium #europetravel #europa #historias #historical #historylove #historybe

Dinant is a city in Belgium’s Walloon Region. It’s on the banks of the Meuse River and backed by steep cliffs. Dinant is one of the most beautiful little towns in Belgium. So if you are wondering if Dinant is worth visiting, my answer is yes, absolutely! It's a local's favorite and a great place for those looking to explore Belgium deeper and beyond the most popular tourist cities in Flanders.

Safe to say that Dinant is a city with sax appeal, as the birthplace of Adolphe Sax (1814-1894), the inventor of the saxophone. There are saxophone monuments all over town in his honour, including along the bridge on which Charles de Gaulle took a bullet in the leg in 1914.

Belgium has 3 official languages: Dutch, French, German and since Dinant is part of Walloon or Wallonia, locals here would be speaking in French.

Meuse River at Dinant, Belg. The Meuse River is navigable for most of its length and is one of the more important waterways of western Europe.

The Citadel of Dinant is a fortress located in the Walloon city of Dinant in the province of Namur, Belgium. The current fort was built in 1815 on a site which was originally fortified in 1051 when the region was ruled by the Prince-Bishopric of Liège.
The city suffered devastation again at the beginning of the First World War. On the 15 August 1914, French and German troops fought for the town in the Battle of Dinant, among the wounded was Lieut. Charles de Gaulle. On 23 August, 674 inhabitants were summarily executed by Saxon troops of the German Army — the biggest massacre committed by the Germans in 1914. Within a month, some five thousand Belgian and French civilians were killed by the Germans at numerous similar occasions.

he Battle of Dinant was an engagement fought by French and German forces in and around the Belgian town of Dinant in the First World War, during the German invasion of Belgium

The massacre was a systematic attack on assumed civilian resisters and was the largest German atrocity perpetrated during the invasion, which became known as The Rape of Belgium.
it took place over 18 days in May 1940 and ended with the German occupation of Belgium following the surrender of the Belgian Army. On 10 May 1940, Germany invaded Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Belgium under the operational plan Fall Gelb (Case Yellow). ... The Belgian Army surrendered on 28 May 1940, ending the battle.

#chitra_world #hasselt #belgium #limburg #europe
Hasselt is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital and largest city of the province of Limburg in the Flemish Region of Belgium.
Hasselt is a small town that serves as the capital of Limburg, a province in Belgium. The town is mostly car-free which allows many visitors to roam around and view the sights of some of the oldest but beautiful buildings. There are also restaurants, pubs, shopping centers, and scenic gardens that will fit any mood. It is up to you which corner you would like to turn to.
Hasselt, capital of Limburg province, Flanders Region, northeastern Belgium. It lies along the Demer River near the Albert Canal, northwest of Liège. For centuries it has been a centre of administration, a market town, and a home of distilleries; the gin called Hasselt Spirit is still produced there. After coal mining began (1917) in the Kempenland (Campine) to the north, Hasselt developed industrially. The rich farmland of the fertile Hesbaye country to the south supports Hasselt’s breweries, flour mills, tanneries, and fertilizer factories.

I arrived in Kas, Turkey! One of my subscribers messaged me on Instagram and invited me to hang out with him and his friends in Kas for a few nights to make a Kas, Turkey vlog.

In the first 48 hours of visiting Kas, we flew the drone, visited big pebble beach, walked around the town of Kas during the day, stopped and had a drink at a local bar, met other expats from Kas, made friends with a dog, watched the sunset from the amphitheater, learned how to ride a Kas scooter, walked around Kas at night, had more drinks in a bar, walked to Limanağzı, saw some ancient Kas tombs, went swimming in Limanağzı, searched for a ring in the ocean, took a ferry back to Kas, and had more drinks! Definitely a good a couple of days.

25 Things to do in Barcelona, Spain | Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.

It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.

Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.

Well, so what did you think of the city?

It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.

And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always, if you have any suggestions of things to do around town, feel free to add them in the comments below. And if you want to catch our latest travel videos, don't forget to hit subscribe!

Is Manila’s Tondo Slum Dangerous for Tourists ✨ Making Kids Happy! ????????

Is Tondo Manila Safe? Is it dangerous for tourists?

▶️ Please Subscribe:

Hello Guys! Welcome and today we are going to explore biggest slum of Philippines “Happyland Tondo Manila” and will try to find out is it really dangerous and while I do that I’m making kids happy.

I have no idea how to describe what it was like to go to the slums of Manila. No camera can show how much suffering there is in these places or how strong and resilient the people who live there are.

Tondo District is on the edge of metro Manila in the Philippines, and about 631,000 people live there. Tondo is one of the worst slums in the country. It is made up of temporary housing units built on a garbage dump. Thousands of families lived illegally on the riverbank, just above the toxic river flow on planks of wood and metal. Families here had nothing at all. When it came to slums, these were the worst.

Every day, it was their job to pick up floating debris from the river, hoping to find something useful or that they could sell. They can work up to 10 hours a day and make an average of $1.50 while riding home-made Polystyrene boats down a toxic river. This puts their health at risk.
Children run outside to see who's there. Some people start walking with us and walk barefoot through the mud. I was worried that they might come over to ask for money. Each one would call out, Hello, hello, what's your name? and then buy ice cream for all the kids.

Most people in the world want the same things as the people of Tondo: a safe place for their family to live, a full stomach before bed, and a better future for their children. They want to be accepted and loved.

I'm not saying the slum is a nice place, but it's safe for tourists because the people I met there were friendly, open, and happy. But years of pain and suffering lie behind their smiles.

It's hard to explain the Manila slums and the people who live there. Life seems very unfair, and I wish there wasn't such a big gap between rich and poor on this planet. But I've learned a lot from this experience, mostly that I can smile even when things are hard and that money doesn't really have anything to do with happiness.

So, watch the video till the end and let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Ghent City Tour | Visit Ghent Town | Visit Belgium | RoamerRealm

This video is about Ghent City Tour | Visit Ghent Town | Visit Belgium | RoamerRealm

In today’s video we’ll be exploring the beautiful city of Ghent i.e Ghent City Tour . It’s a small vibrant town with stunning Dutch architecture and calm canals winding through the water lanes. Despite just being a day trip, I had a chance to get a comprehensive snapshot of this place and a ton of information thanks to the boat canal tour as well.

Having previously been to Belgium a few times before, I was already looking forward to visiting here again. So, when I got an opportunity to explore Ghent for a Ghent City Tour, there was no way I was gonna let that slide!

For a city with population of a 0.25M, the place offers a good blend between cosmopolitan and medieval vibe. Ghent is also thriving as many young people choose to live here instead of the countryside or the crowded city centers of say Brussels, Antwerp and so on.

Getting to Ghent is easy from many places in Belgium and the Netherlands. You can reach here by a car, a bus or even take a train.

Once you’ve arrived, almost immediately you’ll notice that the place has a fairly compact city center and it’s easily navigable on foot. Imposing architectures, bustling streets with tourists and the views – all of which confirm that the place still breathes the atmosphere of a thriving late-medieval city state.

If you want stunning, panoramic, views of Ghent, definitely visit the Belfry! It sits right in the middle of the city and with it’s 91 meter tall tower, you’ll have a bird’s eye view of the city.

Graslei and Korenlei are the two streets on either side of the canal in old town Ghent. This is the heart of the city!

Boat trips start at this point and taking a canal tour is a great way to get some history of Ghent with a unique view of the city.

A ticket for 8 Euros per adult, they are totally worth. It’s nice and relaxing just to sail around and listen to all the information while soaking in the beautiful architecture of the city.

Unlike most of the rest of Europe, Ghent’s medieval architecture remains remarkably well preserved and restored. Cars are banned in the city center thus making it Belgium’s largest carfree area! You will notice this during the Ghent City Tour

The boat tour passes through few bridges and many arches, some of which have a low elevation. The boats don’t move that fast, but I can see that it’s easily possible to hurt yourself here if you’re not careful.

Working on ship and then taking a boat tour during vacation, must not be interesting, right? Wrong! Personally I feel that sightseeing in certain cities is incomplete if you don’t take the boat tour. You could be waking the streets all day long and covered everything that’s there to see, but it’s a different perspective that you get when taking one of these boat tours.

Also, you find out incredible amount of information during these tours including the Ghent City Tour ! Like for example, did you know that during the Dark Ages, Ghent was the 2nd largest city in Europe? I didn’t! The largest was Paris by the way.

Also right in the heart of Ghent is Gravensteen Castle.

If you’ve only got a few meals in Ghent, you want to make sure every single one is amazing! Of course, Belgian chocolates are world famous, but so are the Belgian noses and the various waffle combinations - don’t forget to try as many as you can!

Public transport here is affordable and usually on time. Also, you can save upto 50% of the cost by buying your ticket from the machine over buying from the driver of the tram/bus.

Overall, I’d say Ghent will need more than just one day of your time and trust me, the experience is totally worth it! With some of the richest medivial history in Europe, I think the city is quite under rated for the experience it offers. 2-3 days of stay here should ideally be the sweet spot.

#10 Glamping & Hiking in the Black Forest

In Kafka's Castle, K is alone when he arrived in that village because he does belong neither to the castle nor village. Life is never about black and white. K created his own world, a place on the rim of the world to find his true meaning of life. The feeling of running away and looking for something at the same time. Ambiguous, amorphous.

As for me, I am not running away or looking for anything here in the Black Forest. Maybe one day, I'm not sure when, but what will be, will be. Someday I will leave everything behind to live in the woods. And now, it's just a moment of chasing the shadow of the Black Forest.
