Pennsylvania, a northeastern U.S. state and one of the 13 original colonies, has a diverse terrain, which includes wide stretches of farmland,
national forests, and mountains. Philadelphia, the Keystone State’s largest city, displays its rich history in Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, an enduring symbol of American freedom.
Pennsylvania is downright beautiful. It is home to some of the country’s richest history, incredible culture and, yes, a picturesque scenery.

The Bicentennial Tower in Erie, PA. provides some of the best, if not THE best, views of Erie. It was built in 1995 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the founding of Erie. 4 MILLION VISITORS A YEAR! PRESQUE ISLE STATE PARK, ERIE, PA. (WITH TIME LAPSE) (4K)
Presque Isle State Park is the #1 attraction in Erie, PA., with over 4 million visitors a year! This year it's celebrating its 100th anniversary. The park features a 13-mile loop, which we drove on two separate days, with Presque Isle Bay on one side and Lake Erie on the other. Besides the wildlife and outdoor sports, a big reason that so many people visit the park is that it features Pennsylvania's only shoreline. We spent some time at Beach #8. You can see part of the video in a fast speed time lapse (2:57 and 4:48), which adds a nice feature to this scenic drive.

Erie is equidistant from Buffalo and Cleveland, being about 100 miles (160 kilometers) away.[6] Erie's manufacturing sector remains prominent in the local economy, though healthcare, higher education, technology, service industries, and tourism are emerging as significant economic drivers. Over four million people visit Erie each summer for recreation at Presque Isle State Park and attractions such as Waldameer Park and the Erie Zoo.
The city was named for the Native American Erie people who lived in the area until the mid-17th century. It is known as the Flagship City because of its status as the home port of Oliver Hazard Perry's flagship Niagara.[7] It is also known as the Gem City because of the water's gem like appearance when the Sun is out. Erie won the All-America City Award in 1972. In 2012, Erie hosted the Perry 200,[8] a commemoration celebrating 200 years of peace between Britain, America, and Canada following the War of 1812 and Battle of Lake Erie.

I was fortunate to have stayed in a Club Lounge Access Bay View Room, with great views of the Convention Center, Presque Isle Bay, Presque Isle State Park, and Bicentennial Tower. It's a short walk to Bicentennial Tower, where you get the best views of the Erie Bayfront and downtown. You'll also see unique skybridge which connects the hotel to the Bayfront Convention Center, the lobby, the bar area, Bayfront Grille restaurant, the indoor pool/whirlpool, and the fitness center. I really enjoyed staying at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting Erie, Pennsylvania!

Presque Isle State Park Beach 10 Erie, Pa. It was a beautiful day Sunday and perfect end to my annual weekend in Erie for Discover Presque Isle. Always a fun time. The water was great for swimming. Not too cold and it was like a pane of glass. Perfect for searching for beach glass in the surf.

Asbury Woods ( is a scenic nature preserve in Erie, Pennsylvania that covers over 200 acres and 5 miles of hiking trails. It's part of the Greater Erie Regional Trails Network, which features several hiking trails all around Erie. We're going to get a tour of part of Asbury Woods from Jennifer Farrar, Executive Director of Asbury Woods, and then we'll see another part of Asbury Woods that features hiking trails, Walnut Creek, and the famous wooden bridge. ERIE TO PITTSBURGH TRAIL (full rail trail 4 day bicycle trip)
#biketouring #travelbybike #bicycle #surlybikes We spent 4 days on the Erie to Pittsburgh trail. The trail connects 14 trails throughout NY and PA, starting at Dobbins Landing in Erie, PA and ending at Point State Park in Pittsburgh, PA. The entire trail is only 66% complete, so the other 34% meant using Google maps. We biked on back roads, dirt roads, main roads, and side roads, navigating our way through fields and even a pond.
