In a city that is the home of the nation's top universities, we can start our list in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, AKA MIT, located in Cambridge. this great institute features 168 acres of architectural buildings, statuary and the MIT Museum. One of the highlights of the MIT is the Stata Center, a complex known for its controversial design, built in 2004 and designed by the well-known architect Frank Gehry.
At number 9 we suggest the Massachusetts state house. the 1797 historic landmark is one of the 16 stops of the famous Freedom trail. watch our special video about this trail... The Massachusetts state house is one of the most beautiful buildings in the trail, mainly recognised by it's gilded dome, and red brick facade. and it is located in one of Boston's most beautiful neighbourhoods, Beacon Hill. Guided tours of the historic building are available all year long, for free! As you may imagine, this is not the only landmark from the Freedom trail on our list...
At number 8 we recommend the oldest public park in Boston, the Boston Common. The peaceful park was not so peaceful before the 1817, as it was used for public hangings. located in the heart of the city, this huge park features some of the most popular sights of Boston, and it is also the first station of the freedom Trail. Number 7 is Prudential centre. This commercial complex features many of the most popular shops in the fashion world. One of the exciting attractions is the Prudential Skywalk in the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower, which is one of the tallest skyscrapers of Boston. The “Top of the Hub” restaurant on the last floor is a great place to view the whole city and enjoy a tasty meal.
For those of you who love baseball, number 6 is a historic landmark! Fenway park is home to one of the most popular teams in the history of the US, the Red Sox. “The Green Monster” was opened in 1912, and it went through many changes since then. the park also hosted some of the unforgettable concerts in the US, like the famous Ray Charles appearance in 1973.

Kings Park - situated just a few minutes away from the central CBD - this is a magnificent sanctuary providing vast expands of rolling greens and natural bushland - you can easily spend a day here, have a stroll, picnic, discover the many plants the botanic garden has to offer - the park is absolutely free. Worcester is city with a lot happening, we’re a place for business, a college town, a medical center and fun place to be. We’re right in the middle of state so whether you’re driving or flying we’re easy to get to.
Like many cities in Massachusetts we started life as a textile and manufacturing hub. Today the old mill buildings have been converted to lofts and office space and we’ve grown into a biotech, medical and business hotspot.
But we’re not just about working we educate too. Worcester is home to 7 colleges and universities. You’ll fine students and faculty everywhere! The education system is one of our major employers and keeps the city humming.
Need some culture, we’ve got that too. Check out our museums like the Worcester Art or Historical Museum. For music or live theatre it’s Mechanics Hall one of the oldest concert halls in the country. The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts brings Broadway shows. And Tuckerman Hall is home to the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra.
Our DCU Center is the perfect location for conventions, concerts, and sporting events and home to our hockey team, the Worcester Sharks.
You’ll always find something to do, we’ve got plenty of parks, open space and neighborhoods. Shrewsbury Street is Worcester’s Little Italy and the Canal District has been redeveloped into a popular bar, restaurant and club scene. We’ve even got a golf course in our city, and Ward Ski area is just minutes away.

When I research new bike trails to ride I use the AllTrails app (love it!) for discovery and YouTube to see what the trail looks like. Many times, any questions I may have (What does the trail look like? How well taken care of is the trail? How wide is the trail? Does it look like a trail we can pull a kids trailer on? How does the new detour go? Are there many places to stop? Where does it tend to flood? How does this trail connect to that trail?) can be answered by a simple video like this. Unfortunately there are a lot of trails that I can’t find videos on or they are way out of date. Hopefully this video will help others who may want to quickly see a trail to decide if it’s a good fit for their ride style.

Visiting Minute Man National Historical Park in Massachusetts on October 12th, 2021. Admiring the Minute Man Statue. Crossing the Concord River where the North Bridge stood, at the site of the “shot heard round the world” on April 19, 1775. Cycling the Battle Road Trail, stopping to see the historical sites along the way, such as the Hartwell Tavern, the Captain William Smith House, and the Jacob Whittemore House along with the site where Paul Revere was captured. Walking some of the streets of Concord to find an ice cream shop.
